Thailand Travel Guide 2026: Uncovering Bangkok, Pattaya & Phuket's Best
Tired of generic travel guides? Uncover Thailand's true charm! We reveal the best of Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket, plus exclusive deals for your 2026 trip.

Having traveled to Thailand a few times, one thing I've noticed is
that most reviews only feature the same popular spots.
Yet, when you actually visit, the truly wonderful spots
were actually a bit different from what you'd expect.

This time, with KKday and the Tourism Authority of Thailand
launching a Thailand historical and cultural travel promotion,
I decided to put together all the info.
This includes itineraries for Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket that I personally explored,
plus details for Chiang Mai and Krabi, places I'm still eager to visit.
If you're planning a trip to Thailand, make sure to check the promotion period first,
and grab those first-come, first-served discount coupons in advance!
Why You Should Grab Your Thailand Travel Discount Codes Now? |

These promotion discount coupons are surprisingly generous.
✅ ~$4 discount coupon for purchases over ~$36
✅ ~$9 discount coupon for purchases over ~$73
✅ Each coupon can be used up to twice per person
(Maximum ~$25 in coupon value)
The key here is that you can use each coupon twice!

For instance, if you book one tour for Bangkok and another for Pattaya,
even if you split your bookings like this,
the discounts will apply to each separately. So when you're planning your itinerary,
this is a great tip to keep in mind.
Since these are first-come, first-served coupons, if you've already set your Thailand travel dates,
it would be smart to check the remaining availability and download them right away.
Where to Go in Bangkok: Where to Start Your Adventure? |
Whenever I visit Bangkok, I usually start my exploration around the Grand Palace area,
and this time, I took a half-day tour with a Korean-speaking guide.

The Grand Palace in Bangkok, home to the Emerald Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Kaew),
gets incredibly crowded right from the entrance.
Without a guide, it's easy to feel lost and unsure where to start.
But with a guide planning the route and leading the way,
you can explore efficiently without wasting any time.

Inside the Emerald Buddha Temple, there are so many photo opportunities,
which is why, among all the places to visit in Bangkok,
I highly recommend including it in your itinerary, especially if it's your first visit or a family trip.

Feeling a bit sad to leave after just seeing the Grand Palace,
I continued on to a private tour of Bangkok's Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun.
The size of the Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho is truly awe-inspiring when you see it in person;
it's far more impressive than any photo can capture.

Wat Arun is famously known for its stunning view from across the river at sunset,
but climbing up during the day offers its own unique charm.

In the evening, I took a dinner cruise on the Chao Phraya River,
and enjoying the river breeze while taking in Bangkok's nightscape
was the perfect way to end the day.
There are also Chao Phraya River cruise + dinner buffet packages available,
so if your evening schedule is open, it might be worth checking out.
Recommended Bangkok One-Day Itinerary:
In the morning, the Grand Palace + Emerald Buddha Temple,
then in the afternoon, combine Wat Pho and Wat Arun for a half-day tour,
and finally, conclude your evening with a river cruise.
This way, you can fill your entire day without wasting any time on travel!

Come to think of it, even though I've traveled to Bangkok multiple times,
I've never visited Ayutthaya.
So next time, I definitely plan to include a Bangkok Ayutthaya day tour
in my itinerary!
Is a half-day enough to explore Pattaya's must-see spots? |
Pattaya is a place you can explore more leisurely than Bangkok,
which is why I focused on half-day tours.

For the 'Pattaya essential half-day tour,' the travel itinerary was smooth,
and visiting three places at once
was a great way to save time.

The Floating Market, in particular, was fun to visit just for the browsing experience.

At night, I watched the Pattaya Alcazar Show,
and the dazzling costumes and live performances were beyond my expectations!
It's the perfect itinerary to follow up your daytime tours with an evening spectacle!

For our sea-based adventures, we went on a Pattaya Coral Island full-day tour.
There's such a wide variety of activities
that even if you're not a big fan of swimming, time just flies by relaxing on a sunbed and taking it all in!
Among the must-visit spots in Pattaya, I personally recommend
dividing your itinerary into separate days for land-based and sea-based tours.
Recommended Pattaya Day Itinerary:
In the daytime, a half-day tour of Nong Nooch Tropical Garden + Buddha Mountain + Floating Market;
then in the evening, follow it up with the Alcazar Show for a truly packed and memorable day.

If you want to enjoy the sea even more,
adding a Coral Island tour on the next day is a fantastic idea!
And it would be a shame to miss the Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya, Thailand, wouldn't it?
Is it enough to just enjoy snorkeling when visiting Phuket? |
In Phuket, I focused mostly on sea activities.
I experienced snorkeling at Phuket Coral Island and Racha Island,
and the water color around Racha Island was definitely distinct and stunning.

All the snorkeling equipment was provided,
and the course was easy enough for beginners to enjoy without any pressure!
I didn't get a chance to explore the land-based routes this time, so I'll leave these as recommendations for you.
Many mention a route that covers Phuket's essential sights in one day: Chalong Temple,
Promthep Cape, Old Town, and the Big Buddha.
These are often cited as Phuket's must-see attractions.

If you're wondering where to go in Phuket, I recommend dedicating your first day to the sea,
and your second day to exploring the land.
Recommended Phuket Two-Day Itinerary:
On the first day, immerse yourself in the ocean with a Coral Island + Racha Island snorkeling adventure,
and on the second day, explore the land-based gems like Chalong Temple + Promthep Cape, and more.
If you combine these land excursions,
You can fully fill two days with amazing experiences.
Beyond that, with a Korean-speaking guide,
you can also enjoy a Doi Suthep night tour and a Chiang Mai Wat Umong tour
all in one Chiang Mai package.
There's also a Krabi Khlong Nam Sai Kayak Tour package available,
so you can complete all your Thailand travel preparations
right on KKday!

✅ Looking to efficiently plan your Bangkok & Pattaya itinerary

If your travel style aligns with these ideas,
it would be helpful to compare the packages
within the promotion period.

The coupons vary based on the price range (~$36/~$73),
so it's a good idea to check the range before payment.

Yes, each coupon can be used up to twice per person.
If you book different items separately, you can apply them to each.
Q. Will I be unable to make a reservation after the promotion period?

Q. If it's my first time traveling to Thailand, which region should I plan for first?
Bangkok's half-day tours, focused on the Grand Palace and temples, are well-structured,
making it easy even for first-time visitors.
If you want to enjoy the sea more, many people choose to combine their trip with Pattaya or Phuket.
Since discount codes can run out on a first-come, first-served basis,
if you've already started planning your trip,
we highly recommend checking the remaining quantities now.
As I was organizing everything again this time,
I became even more curious about the Chiang Mai and Krabi itineraries I haven't experienced yet,
so I plan to build my itinerary around them for my next Thailand trip!
