THA ARUN
Sometimes, the most beautiful city nights aren't just about gazing down at skyscrapers, but about admiring the unique, illuminated architecture that defines a nation's heritage.
Take, for instance, the magnificent Wat Arun Temple, one of Thailand's most famous landmarks, which I had the pleasure of seeing on my recent trip.
While you can certainly admire it from the riverbanks, there's something truly special about sipping a cocktail with that breathtaking view as your backdrop, don't you think?
That's why I'm excited to share this fantastic bar with an incredible ambiance.

This is the spot. From the outside, it might not look extraordinary, but step inside, and you'll find a surprisingly upscale and chic interior.

Even with such a stylish interior, which alone would make it a contender for a top Bangkok recommendation, you'll notice hardly anyone sits indoors.

That's because right outside, you can enjoy a drink with this incredible view, up close and personal! Order a cocktail, and then simply let yourself be captivated by the scenery and the enchanting atmosphere.

And of course, capture a photo like this!
There are two truly amazing things about this place. First, you'll notice Wat Arun Temple beautifully reflected in the window.

It blends seamlessly, becoming an organic part of the landscape. This unique reflection is a huge reason why I've chosen it as a top spot to visit in Bangkok.

The other amazing thing... is the price. It's a bit steep!

Two cocktails came out to 760 Baht, and with service charges and VAT added, the total was 894.5 Baht. That's roughly ~$24 USD, which is quite a splurge!
However, the view truly makes it worth every penny. You're essentially paying for that unparalleled vista. (Just a heads-up, if you cross to the small open space next door, you can actually catch the same view for free, haha!)
While it certainly felt pricey, I didn't feel like it was a waste. (Though I probably wouldn't order food here, haha!) The overall experience was wonderful, and the staff were incredibly friendly. They didn't rush us at all, even as closing time approached. (Of course, we politely left a little early on our own.)
Given the price point, this isn't the kind of place to go for a wild night out. One cocktail is probably just right to soak in the atmosphere.
My recommendation: visit the iconic Wat Arun Temple, enjoy dinner at a nearby restaurant, and then cap off your evening with a single, memorable drink here.
Afterward, you could even take a leisurely stroll along the river, still basking in the glow of the evening. I headed straight back to my accommodation, but I wish I had taken that walk!

The bar's location is as above, and it's open from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. We were among the last to leave around 9:30 PM as others slowly departed.
Personally, Thailand wasn't always at the top of my preferred travel destinations, but this trip really opened my eyes to its diverse charms. (So much so that I'm going back next month, haha!) I still haven't made it to Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai, but they're definitely on my list. The world is vast, and there are so many places to explore. I'll get to them one by one!
Anyway, that wraps up this post. For a bar where you can truly savor a beautiful night view, Tha Arun is a definite must-visit in Bangkok!
