1. Location & Info
📍 Tegal Sari Accommodation
Jl. Monkey Forest, Ubud, Kecamatan Ubud, Kabupaten Gianyar, Bali 80571 Indonesia
It’s located right in the heart of Ubud, super close to the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. Everything from great restaurants and cafes to relaxing massage shops is within walking distance, making it the perfect hub for an independent traveler.
While it's officially classified as a hotel, the moment you step into Villa Sesapi Downstairs, any "hotel" vibe completely disappears.
With its own detached layout and a private pool, it felt like nothing less than a gorgeous, fully private pool villa.
2. Price & Platforms

A bedroom, bathroom, living area, and swimming pool all to ourselves... how much do you think a place like this costs?
For a 3-night, 4-day stay, I paid a total of 6.21 million IDR, which is around ~$346.
Based on May rates, that's about ~$115 a night to have a private villa with its own pool entirely to ourselves!
Even if it's sold out on one site, don't give up! Make sure to check the other platforms linked below.

Considering that the average rate for a private pool villa in Ubud is around ~$192 to ~$256, this was an absolute steal.
Prices can vary depending on the season and when you book. If you've already set your travel dates, I highly recommend checking room availability first.
3. My Stay Begins

We arrived on a late-night flight and checked in late, but the staff was so incredibly welcoming. They checked our passports and had us all set up in no time, and they even carried our heavy suitcases to the villa for us—talk about amazing service!

Maybe because it's highly rated and award-winning, but the overall vibe was so warm. The staff smiled and greeted us every single time we crossed paths, which made a fantastic first impression.
3. Villa Sesapi Downstairs Room
Please note that the room name might be listed slightly differently depending on the booking platform.

When we first opened the villa door late at night, we were blown away by how massive the space was. Since you have to walk over to a separate detached building to go from the bedroom to the living room, it truly gave off that exclusive, private villa feel.
Bedroom

The bedding was spotless, fresh, and so cozy. It was incredibly spacious and plush, ensuring a perfect night's sleep.

The bedroom itself is extremely spacious. There’s a dedicated luggage rack and a separate vanity table, so we could unpack and keep everything organized throughout our stay.

The warm wood-toned interior instantly makes you feel relaxed. There's also a cozy daybed area that can double as a sofa or an extra bed.

The soft, indirect lighting set such a beautiful, moody atmosphere at night.

Waking up in the morning, a lush garden view surrounded by tropical plants unfolds right outside the window.
Since it's a completely detached private villa, the best part was how incredibly private and peaceful it felt.
The Bathroom

This is the main bathroom connected to the bedroom. I was slightly bummed that the bathtub didn't have an outdoor view, but the bathroom itself was so spacious that any disappointment quickly faded. It felt roomy enough for two people to use without feeling cramped at all.

It features double sinks, and the hand towels and bath towels were super soft and fluffy.

The bathrobes were also great, and laundry service is available as well (for an extra charge).

There's also a full-length mirror, so you can easily check your outfit before heading out.
Take a look at the video to get a real feel for it. The moment the warm, soft lighting turns on, those cozy Bali vibes just instantly wash over you.
The Annex Living Room & Kitchen (including the restroom)

To the right of the bedroom and the pool, there's a separate annex building. It serves as the living room and kitchen area.

It is equipped with a refrigerator, a water purifier, and a microwave.
Pretty big fridge, right? Haha. Perfect for keeping your drinks cold and warming up those late-night snacks!

The fridge is stocked with soft drinks and Bintang beer.
They aren't free, but cracking open a cold Bintang...
...and jumping into the pool is an absolute dream. Totally worth it! lol

There's a sink, an induction cooktop, an electric kettle,
and even coffee and tea are ready for you.

The trash cans are quite large to make sorting recyclables easy,
and the deep sink makes doing the dishes a breeze.

Under the sink, you'll find a variety of tableware and cooking utensils.
There are even pots, so if you're craving some home-cooked comfort food or instant ramen, you're all set!

Since Ubud is famous for its sudden tropical showers, they've kindly provided umbrellas.
They also have multi-plug adapters in case you forgot to pack yours.
They even prepared mosquito coils for the evening. I was so touched by how they thought of
every single little detail to make our stay perfect! So thoughtful! 🥰

The dining table is absolutely massive, right?!
It’s the perfect spot for couples and honeymooners to wind down with a nice drink at night.

Right in front of the TV, there's a huge, super-comfy sofa. There's also a low table right there, making it the perfect setup to order late-night delivery and enjoy a cozy feast!

This is the bathroom off the annex's living room and kitchen area.
Having two bathrooms in the villa made getting ready (and everything else!) so much more convenient.
With its own living area, kitchen sink, and dining table, it feels like a completely independent space. As soon as we arrived, we ordered some late-night food and ate in the annex, and it was so wonderful haha. It literally felt like my own home!
Private Swimming Pool

Slide open the doors of the annex living room, and you're stepping right into the pool!
It’s entirely your own private oasis, so you don't have to worry about other guests at all.

Just floating in the water with some music playing, looking up at the sky...
I was like, "Ah, this is what Bali is all about!" 😭
Having this entire private pool all to yourselves—
It's absolutely perfect for a romantic honeymoon getaway!

We even ordered some drinks and fresh fruit through room service to enjoy poolside, and seriously—I kept thinking, "This is the ultimate Bali vibe!" 😭 This is what a true vacation feels like.

5. Breakfast & Room Service (feat. An Honest Downside)

Breakfast isn't included, but honestly, we preferred it that way! Since you're right in the heart of downtown Ubud, there are so many amazing brunch cafes just a short walk away.
If I had to share one honest downside, it's that because the tropical foliage is so lush, a few leaves do blow into the pool when the wind picks up. However, the staff sweeps through and cleans it so frequently that everything stayed incredibly fresh and tidy throughout our stay.
Room service is also available. They have a great variety of dishes, and with prices starting at just around ~$2 to ~$6, it's incredibly budget-friendly! You can also request a floating breakfast for an extra charge, so it's a good idea to ask about it when you check in.
