from the famous local restaurant Warung Pondok Madu, this budget-friendly gem was an absolute steal.

Super affordable, with spotlessly clean rooms,

an amazing swimming pool, and that signature Ubud jungle vibe—

Room Conditions & the Pool

I stayed here in the ~$32 range,

which means for two people, it's less than ~$19 per person!

I was absolutely blown away by this level of quality.

Even though the reviews were great,

it was so cheap that I was a bit skeptical at first haha.

✅ Room Condition & 1st Floor Terrace

We got assigned the very last room on the first floor.

I was a bit worried about privacy being on the ground floor,

but having a private terrace and a tea table right outside

actually made it the perfect, cozy spot to lounge while looking at the pool.

The bedding was super fluffy without a hint of dampness,

and the A/C kept the room ice-cold!

✅ Thoughtful Service

There was a welcome letter with my name on the bed,

and even a plate of welcome fruit on the desk!

When we checked out, the staff personally tied a lucky string bracelet

around my wrist,

and I'm actually still wearing it now that I'm back home!

It was pure, heartfelt hospitality.

✅ Clean Water Quality (Shower Filter)

If you're traveling to Southeast Asia, water quality is probably a big concern.

Especially in Bali, to avoid the infamous 'Bali Belly,'

bringing a shower filter is an absolute must!

The bathroom here was incredibly clean,

and the shower filter stayed surprisingly white!

Water quality definitely gets a passing grade~

Pure healing! The pool isn't massive like those at giant resorts,

but it had this cozy, private charm

that was super easy to access from both the 1st and 2nd floors.

Surrounded by lush, vibrant greenery,

just lying on the sunbed made me feel like,

"Wow, I'm really in Bali."

It truly made the experience feel so real.

Hotspots within Walking Distance

It's always a bit disappointing if there's nothing near your stay...

But Tebesaya Cottages has some of the absolute best surrounding infrastructure

among all the budget-friendly Ubud accommodations.

✔️ Warung Pondok Madu (Famous for pork ribs): Right across the street! (10 seconds if you run)

✔️ Pison: A trendy Bali cafe, 5-minute walk

✔️ Citrusberry: Great brunch spot, 7-minute walk

✔️ Yoga Barn: The ultimate yoga sanctuary in Ubud, 6-minute walk

It was also in a great location for Grab deliveries.

Definitely staying more than 1 night next time!

Whether you're traveling solo in Bali,

or looking for a budget-friendly Ubud spot for a quick half-day stay
