When you think of Takamatsu, two things often come to mind: delicious udon noodles and the adorable Pokémon, Slowpoke!
Takamatsu is famous for its udon, and because the Japanese pronunciation for udon (うどん) sounds similar to Slowpoke (ヤドン, yadon), the Pokémon has become an unexpected local celebrity.
This unique connection means you can find traces of Slowpoke scattered throughout the city, making for a delightful scavenger hunt during your visit.
Today, I've put together a guide to some of the best Slowpoke spots hidden around Takamatsu.

1. Slowpoke Manholes
You'll find charming Slowpoke-themed manholes dotted all over Takamatsu. The one I'm about to show you is conveniently located near downtown accommodations and shopping streets, making it an easy stop for a quick photo op.

Right in front of the bakery pictured, in the middle of the arcade shopping street, you'll spot this adorable Slowpoke!
They're smaller than typical manholes, but seriously, finding one is surprisingly exciting! It's a little thrill.
2. Slowpoke Postbox

Look at this cute Slowpoke perched atop a postbox! It's located right in front of the Mitsukoshi Department Store, making it a perfect quick stop after some shopping.
3. Slowpoke Stamp Tour
Since you're already exploring Takamatsu, why not add a fun Slowpoke Stamp Tour to your itinerary? You can easily incorporate this into your shopping route around the Marugamemachi Arcade shopping street, where you'll likely visit stores like Don Quijote.
There are four Slowpoke stamp locations in total, and you can pick up your stamp sheet at the Mitsukoshi Department Store to begin your adventure!
➊ Mitsukoshi Department Store (2 stamps)
As soon as you enter the 1st floor, you'll find the stamp sheets and stamps readily available.
The back of the sheet provides detailed locations, and the stamps themselves are quite large and beautifully designed.
You'll find another stamping spot on the 1st floor and in the annex on the 5th floor.
On the 5th floor, you can also find a map showing the locations of the Slowpoke manholes, which is super helpful for your Takamatsu adventures.

➋ Building Across from Don Quijote
There's another stamp area at SHIGOTO PLAZA, right across from Don Quijote! You won't have trouble finding it, especially with kids wearing Slowpoke headbands often lining up.
It's a perfect opportunity to grab a stamp while you're already doing some shopping at Don Quijote! 😉

➌ Pokémon Center Kagawa
The final stop on the stamp tour is the Pokémon Center. You'll find the stamp zone right by the entrance.
Even if you're not doing the stamp tour, this is a must-visit during your Takamatsu trip! You'll lose track of time admiring all the adorable Pokémon merchandise.
4. Airport Slowpoke Photo Booth
Before you go through immigration at Takamatsu Airport, you'll find a Slowpoke photo booth. It costs ~$4 USD, and you can get change for your coins at the adjacent souvenir shop.
You can take photos with Slowpoke, and I absolutely loved the signature soft, 'photoshopped' aesthetic unique to Japanese sticker photo booths!
It's not just still photos either; you get multiple poses, and it even records a video! Surprisingly, it offers pose suggestions too.
If you pay via QR code, you even get this adorable video! I personally loved it. I didn't get to take many photos on my solo trip, but the Slowpoke photo booth was the perfect way to wrap things up.

The Slowpoke manhole covers in Takamatsu city can be found in the middle of the arcade shopping street, in front of Shunpudo bakery. It's a great route for taking commemorative photos, as it's near downtown accommodations and shopping areas.
The Slowpoke post box in Takamatsu is located right in front of Mitsukoshi Department Store. It's a great place to check out after you've finished shopping.
The Takamatsu Slowpoke Stamp Rally takes place at a total of 4 locations. You can get the stamp sheet at the 1st-floor entrance of Mitsukoshi Department Store.
The Slowpoke photo booth at Takamatsu Airport is located before immigration. The usage fee is ~$4, and you can exchange coins at the souvenir shop next door.
