👗 Switzerland Summer Outfit Guide: July & August Weather 👗

While prepping for my July trip to Switzerland,

the absolute biggest dilemma was deciding what to wear.

Even though everyone says Switzerland is cool in the summer,

it *is* still summer, so lightweight summer clothes are a must...

But then others say you absolutely need a puffer jacket❗

to go up the mountains...

Honestly, I had no idea who to believe.

But after experiencing it myself in July,

what you wear changes completely

from place to place, even on the exact same day!

Some days, simple summer clothes were more than enough,

while on other days, I would have deeply regretted

not bringing a windbreaker.

Today, I'm going to share the actual outfits I wore

during my July Swiss adventure

and wrap up all the essential styling tips you'll need!👚

01 Swiss City Outfits

When exploring cities like Zurich or Lucerne,

you can pretty much dress like you would for any standard warm summer.

But since I was on vacation, after all🎶

I often wore a halter-style top with a strap detail

paired with shorts,

or went with a classic white dress.

The key is choosing outfits that are both comfortable to move in and look great in photos!

The sun is surprisingly intense, though,

so I highly recommend carrying

a pair of sunglasses with you.

02 Jungfraujoch Outfits

The one place where I let my guard down just because it was July,

and regretted it the most, was definitely Jungfraujoch.

Because of bad weather, I almost couldn't make it up

to Jungfraujoch,

but luckily, the skies cleared and up I went!

The sun was beaming, and it was actually clearer up there

than it was down below.

But since everything around you is snow, the perceived temperature

felt like late autumn (around November temperatures).

But as for me...

I wanted my photos to pop against the white snow, so I thought, 'A red dress would look perfect!' ^^

But... it was sleeveless LOL 😂

I was literally the only person on Jungfraujoch

looking like they were in the middle of midsummer. 😂

While I absolutely loved how the photos turned out,

honestly, I was freezing to death...

Now I finally understand why that cup of Shin Ramyun up there

tastes so incredibly heavenly... haha.

When you head up to Jungfraujoch, a windbreaker is an absolute must-have.

If you easily catch a chill,

packing a lightweight down jacket

won't be overkill at all! Haha.

03 Hiking Outfits

Hiking is a must-do when you're in Switzerland, right?

I visited Mount Rigi in Lucerne and Zermatt.

While the temperature definitely drops as you head up the mountains,

I wouldn't recommend dressing too warmly in the summer.

Once you start walking, you'll heat up and start sweating in no time!

So, I opted for a sleeveless or short-sleeved top

and brought along a lightweight long-sleeved layer.

Personally, I find long pants a bit too stuffy,

and I rarely wear them anyway,

so I went with shorts instead.

In return, I made sure to apply sunscreen like my life depended on it!

04 Rainy Day Outfits

To be honest... my July weather in Switzerland

wasn't all sunshine and rainbows😂

It rained quite a bit,

and when it rains, it gets way chillier than you'd expect.

With the wind blowing too,

the real-feel temperature dropped significantly.

That's why I always made sure to pack a

windbreaker or a cardigan whenever I headed out.

(At this point, they were absolute essentials.. haha)

Especially when hopping from city to city on the train,

there's a big temperature difference between the indoors and outdoors,

so having a light jacket was a lifesaver💯

05 Clubbing Outfits

I've never even stepped foot in a club back home,

but is it just me, or does everyone suddenly love clubbing

when they travel to Europe?🤣

Whenever I prep for a European getaway,

I always pack at least one outfit

that is totally out of my usual comfort zone.

You might think, "Wait, is everyone going to stare at me?"

But don't worry for a second!❕

I promise you, compared to the locals,

you'll still look like the most conservative dresser there❗😊

When you're traveling, the absolute best thing you can do

is to stop worrying about what others think. Hahaha!

Getting all dressed up actually gets you

more into the vacation spirit,

and you get to take so many amazing photos!💗

Packing just one outfit that's slightly bolder than your usual style

adds so much extra fun to your trip!

During my July trip to Switzerland,

if I had to pick the clothes I wore the absolute most,

they were definitely my windbreaker and cardigan.

If I had only packed thin clothes thinking it was summer,

I think I would have had a really tough time.

If you want to take gorgeous photos like I did,

plan your stylish outfits,

but make sure to pack

at least one outer layer!
