While Jungfraujoch is the crown jewel of the region,

the hiking here is absolutely world-class!

Hitting the trails is one of the absolute must-do activities

🌟 when visiting Switzerland. 🌟

Among the many routes, Trail 33 lets you admire

the iconic trio: Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau all at once!

Often called the Panorama Trail, this route takes you

from Männlichen to Kleine Scheidegg.

Here is a complete breakdown of my personal route,

along with transit pass pricing and tips for 2026! :D

How to Get from Grindelwald to Männlichen

This is the exact route I took to reach the trailhead:

1️⃣ Grindelwald Station → Wengen (Train)

2️⃣ Wengen → Männlichen (Cable Car)

3️⃣ Männlichen → Kleine Scheidegg (Hiking)

✅ If you hold a Jungfrau VIP Pass, all of these sections are 100% free!

✅ With a Swiss Travel Pass, only step 1️⃣

(up to Wengen) is fully covered.

✅ For step 2️⃣ (Wengen to Männlichen cable car),

Swiss Travel Pass holders get a 50% discount.

Even though it is not completely free with the Swiss Travel Pass,

the discounted rate makes it incredibly budget-friendly.

Alternatively, you can also:

Once you reach Männlichen, your journey to Kleine Scheidegg begins.

This is the heart of the Jungfrau Trail 33 experience.

While waiting for the cable car in Wengen, the views are so spectacular

that the wait time feels like a bonus, not a chore! ㅠㅠ

Trail 33 Difficulty & Overview

🌟 Duration: Approx. 1.5 Hours (approx. 3 miles) 🌟

✔️ Flat, well-maintained paths

✔️ Virtually no steep inclines

✔️ Benches scattered along the route

✔️ Panoramic, unobstructed views of the Jungfrau massif

Trail 33 is remarkably flat and free of technical terrain.

It is perfect for beginners, families traveling with children,

or anyone wanting a leisurely walk with world-class views.

The peaks were partially hidden by clouds during my hike, which was a bit of a bummer.

But the sheer scale of the landscape and the fresh mountain air

made the walk incredibly therapeutic anyway!

Stopping to take photos and resting on the benches

turned our 1.5-hour hike into a 2-hour journey.

Haha, but with views like this, how could you not slow down?

Getting Back: Kleine Scheidegg to Grindelwald

Once you reach Kleine Scheidegg, you can catch the train back down to Grindelwald!

This train is fully covered if you have a Jungfrau VIP Pass.

If you are using other transit passes, you can take this route to save on costs:

Kleine Scheidegg → Wengen

Wengen → Lauterbrunnen (Free with Swiss Travel Pass)

Lauterbrunnen → Grindelwald
