Interior Atmosphere

The interior featured a single circular bar table where everyone sat around,
and it was packed with international guests, including myself.
It's quite rare to find people from so many different nationalities—Europe, Korea, China, Japan—all gathered in one place,
which really showed me how popular this spot is across the globe.
Menu

The menu offers an Omakase course:
¥29,000 including beverage pairing
¥18,000 for the course without beverages.
The Omakase menu changes regularly,
so please use the photos as a reference only.
Course Review

I considered getting the pairing course,
but I was worried it would be too filling, so I opted for an Ebisu beer instead!
By the time the course ended, my stomach was absolutely full,
and I realized it would've been a huge mistake to add the pairing – LOL!

While waiting for the course, you can watch
the chef's meticulous preparation!

First up was an appetizer plate featuring
sashimi, tempura, mentaiko (pollock roe), scallops, and more.

I ate in the order the chef recommended,
and I loved that the first dishes weren't overpowering but rather light, whetting my appetite beautifully.
Next was young tuna sashimi!
It was more tender than regular tuna and had a cleaner taste.

To be able to watch a sushi master
at work right in front of you...!
Their hand movements were incredible, it felt like watching a TV show! Haha.

The sushi journey began with cuttlefish!
Usually, I can't finish cuttlefish because of its unique chewy texture and
its rich, sometimes oily taste.
But this one was incredibly soft and free of any richness,
so I enjoyed every single bite!

Next up was hairy crab sushi.
Whenever I'm not feeling my best, my shellfish allergy
flares up, and unfortunately, my condition wasn't great that day.
So I had already mentioned that I couldn't eat shellfish.
In the end, only my husband got to eat it, and he said it was so delicious that
it was a shame I couldn't try it...

Thankfully, the chef replaced it with another type of fish sushi.
Even after that, for every dish that contained shrimp,
they specially prepared a separate one for me!
It made me feel so well taken care of, which was wonderful.

Soy-marinated salmon sushi.
I already love salmon the most among all sushi ingredients,
but the salmon at a high-end Omakase restaurant
definitely tastes different.
The umami was incredible, and the flavor was exceptionally delicate.

Mid-course, we had Chawanmushi.
This also usually contains shrimp.
Even though I had mine made without shrimp,
it still tasted like a rich, flavorful steamed egg custard, absolutely delicious.

It's a tuna three-piece set.
For tuna, I highly recommend going to a place that might be a bit pricier
but definitely worth the money. It's a whole new level... ❤️

Before the final sushi, we had fried fish.
My last experience with fried fish was back in my school cafeteria,
so I had no idea fried fish could taste this good...

I was a little worried that the gizzard shad sushi might have a fishy taste,
but there was absolutely none of that—just a clean, pure flavor.
Since blue-backed fish isn't something you typically eat at home,
make sure to try it all!

For the final sushi, sweet shrimp was served,
but for me, it was replaced with salmon roe gunkan maki.
Of course, the salmon roe was delicious, but not being able to have the sweet shrimp...
I was really, truly disappointed. 😭

For the meal course, oyster bibimbap was served.
Even though I'm not usually a big fan of oysters,
it was pleasantly savory and quite enjoyable.

As the last dish, we had thick eel,
served as eel sushi wrapped in seaweed, accompanied by miso soup.
It was my first time having such thick eel as sushi,
and there were no bones, and the sauce was perfectly absorbed,
making it absolutely delicious.

The perfect ending to the meal? Strawberry ice cream,
finished with refreshing green tea.
For any exquisite course meal, the final dessert is absolutely crucial,
and naturally, this finish was impeccably clean and satisfying!
If you're dreaming of savoring high-end cuisine and top-tier sushi in Tokyo,
I wholeheartedly recommend Sushi Kenshin Ebisu, conveniently located near Ebisu Station.
It's also an absolutely perfect spot for celebrating anniversaries or
enjoying a memorable dinner with your parents!
