When choosing a place to stay, it always comes down to two things: location and price.

Near My Dinh National Stadium, however, these two often don't align.

Most places close by are 5-star,

and if you lower your budget, the quality tends to drop significantly.

I've often seen travelers give up after searching

for a clean, business-class option.

Super Hotel Hanoi, located on Duy Tan Street,

strikes a perfect balance.

It's a 15-minute drive to the stadium, so not walking distance, ​

but the price is about half that of a 5-star hotel.

I've structured this guide to first show you its location,

then its price for that location,

and finally, what the rooms are like for that price.

It's nestled within an alley off Duy Tan Street in Cau Giay.

If you tell someone it's behind Indochina Plaza,

frequent visitors to Hanoi will instantly know where that is.

While it might be an unfamiliar area for some international travelers,

locally in Vietnam, it's a bustling office district, home to many IT and Japanese companies.

This means the surroundings are always quiet and well-maintained.

The fact that it's not noisy all night like the Old Quarter is

both a blessing and a curse.

Here's a breakdown of distances to key points:

60,000 VND to My Dinh is about ~$2.

Even a round trip is less than ~$4.

Hoan Kiem is 8-9 km away,

so if you hit rush hour, expect the journey to take 40-50 minutes.

Let me be upfront about something here:

Super Hotel Hanoi is not within walking distance of the stadium.

It's not a walkable distance,

and if you overlook this, you might be caught off guard upon arrival.

So, if it's not walking distance,

why consider this hotel?

The answer becomes clear when you look at the price.

The front desk even provides a separate, hand-drawn map of the surrounding area in Korean.

It clearly shows how many minutes it takes to walk to convenience stores and restaurants, which came in very handy for our first night's dinner.

02. What's the Price for This Location?

What's the price range?

When I booked, a 25㎡ double room was in the **low ~$70s.**

Considering 5-star hotels in the same area are typically

around ~$146, this is about half the price.

What's even better is that breakfast is included, and the communal bath is free at this price!

Just looking at accommodation costs, there's nearly a ~$146 difference over two nights.

With that money, you could enjoy several more dinners in Hanoi!

October and November are Hanoi's best weather months,

so prices fluctuate daily during this period.

They especially jump on dates when there are major performances in My Dinh.

I've compiled the actual prices I found across different platforms later in this post.

The real question is, what are the rooms like at this price?

In Hanoi, if the price is low, it often means either the room is small,

or the bathroom is disappointing – it's usually one or the other.

03. Can the Room Condition Really Be This Good for the Price?

This is a 25㎡ double room.

In Hanoi's business-class hotels, 25㎡ is considered quite spacious.

Many hotels in the same price range are only around 18-20㎡,

so the first impression when you open the door is completely different.

Even with two suitcases unpacked,

there was still plenty of room to walk around the bed.

With power outlets right next to the headboard,

you won't have to fight over charging spots.

The room has a short hallway leading from the entrance,

and there's a full-length mirror on that wall.

It was super convenient to check my outfit before heading out.

Opposite the bed, there's a separate leather bench and table.

It's a good size to set up your laptop and work,

and a tabletop mirror is provided as standard.

But what truly surprised me most about this room was the bathroom.

There's a separate bathtub!

It's not very common to find a bathtub

in Hanoi hotels at this price point.

With a separate showerhead as well,

the flow from showering to soaking is seamless.

There was a notice on the wall stating that all rooms use ionized water.

The towels were neatly rolled in white,

and next to them was a tote bag with the hotel logo.

It's there for you to use when heading to the public bath.

I checked around the drain, the silicone seams,

and even under the sink, and I couldn't find any mold or water stains.

It was absolutely spotless – I was so impressed!!

While it might be partly because it's a relatively new hotel,

the maintenance really felt like it was run to Japanese headquarters' standards.

The toilet is a TOTO Washlet.

The remote control is separately mounted on the wall,

and since the usage is the same as in Korea, there's no confusion.

Inside the wardrobe, you'll find a safety box,

hangers, and a deodorizing spray.

The refrigerator is empty.

There's a GS25 convenience store on the first floor,

so you can use it to store anything you buy.

And there was something else about this hotel that truly stood out.

When you turn on the TV, a welcome screen appears,

showing the real-time congestion levels for men and women at the 3rd-floor public bath.

There are three stages: Available / Slightly Crowded / Crowded.

You can also check the usage status of all four washing machines and dryers in the 3rd-floor coin laundry room.

(Plus, laundry is FREE!!!)

It might seem like a small detail, but it actually makes a huge difference.

You won't get changed and head down to the 3rd floor only to find it packed

and have to turn back.

The screen can be switched to Korean.

-> Located a bit deep in an alley, so Grab drivers occasionally get lost

-> Window views aren't anything to write home about

-> No swimming pool!

Room types vary depending on availability for your chosen dates.

While the 25㎡ double room is standard, there are also larger options available,

so it's best to check for your specific dates to get accurate information.

04. Breakfast and Communal Bath Included in the Rate

If it were just cheap and that was it, I probably wouldn't be writing this post.

On the 3rd floor, there's a Japanese-style communal bath, separated for men and women.

With bamboo walls and a glass window looking out onto a small garden,

you'll momentarily forget you're right in the heart of Hanoi.

It's free for guests.

It's open until 1 AM and reopens at 5 AM.

Being able to relax and unwind even on days I returned late was a bigger perk than I expected. My legs felt noticeably different the morning after a full day of walking.

Breakfast is also included in the rate.

It's served from 6 AM to 10 AM at the Kawasei Restaurant on the 1st floor,

featuring a buffet alongside made-to-order main dishes.

Since rice and soup are offered daily,

there's hardly anything that wouldn't suit a Korean palate.

Considering buying breakfast separately and paying for a sauna separately,

having both included effectively lowers your actual accommodation cost even further.

05. Where to Book for the Best Price?

Since its price is a major advantage, I also checked how much the rates vary depending on where you book.

These are the rates for a 1-night stay on October 24-25,

a date when there's a big concert happening in My Dinh.

After checking all three, Trip.com came out as the cheapest.

The difference isn't huge. It's about ~$2 more than Agoda, and ~$4 more than Klook. However, if it's the same room, there's no reason to pay more, so booking with Trip.com is the better option.

Seeing rooms that are usually around ~$73-$80 climb to around ~$109 clearly shows the concert date premium.

Yet, it's still significantly less than a 5-star hotel within walking distance of the stadium on the same dates.

There's one more thing to note.

Available rooms are selling out fast.

so dates that show as sold out on one site

might still be available on another.

06. Returning from My Dinh on Event Days

The biggest concern might be that it's not within walking distance of the stadium,

so let me elaborate on that.

When a big concert or event ends at My Dinh, the road in front of the stadium can be gridlocked for nearly an hour.

Tens of thousands of people leaving at once means Grab (ride-hailing) calls are almost impossible to get,

and even if you do get one, the fares skyrocket by 2-3 times.

It's also common for rides to be canceled because cars simply can't get in.

So, the main advantage of hotels within walking distance is right after the event.

Conversely, if you're booking accommodation that's not within walking distance,

there's only one thing you need to check.

Is it in a direction where you can catch a ride after walking a bit away from the stadium...?

This applies to the Duy Tan direction.

If you walk 10-15 minutes from My Dinh Stadium towards Le Duc Tho street,

you'll be out of the traffic control zone.

From here, Grab rides are available as normal,

and fares return to their usual levels.

-> Don't try to hail a ride right after the event ends;

it's much faster to walk towards Le Duc Tho and then call for one.

-> The main roads in the My Dinh area are relatively well-lit at night.

Even for solo female travelers, this section felt safe enough to walk.

To call a Grab on event day, mobile data is essential.

You can pretty much assume Wi-Fi won't work inside the venue.

07. When This Accommodation is Right for You vs. When It's Not

​

If you want to save on accommodation and spend your money elsewhere, this is the right choice.

There's almost a ~$146 difference for a 2-night stay compared to a 5-star hotel.

It's also a good option if you're concerned about cleanliness in Hanoi accommodations.

The management standards of a Japanese-affiliated brand really pay off here.

If you're uncomfortable with English,

the check-in kiosk has Korean, so that's one less thing to worry about.

On the flip side, there are definitely situations where it might not be the best fit.

If you want to be in your room within 5 minutes of leaving the stadium,

then only a hotel within walking distance will do.

If most of your itinerary revolves around the Old Quarter and Beer Street,

you'll be adding more than ~$15 in round-trip transportation costs each time.

Also, if three or more people plan to stay in one room,

a 25㎡ double room won't be enough.

If you need a swimming pool, this isn't the place. There isn't one.

08. In Summary

Accommodation near My Dinh Stadium

If you prioritize value for money relative to location, Super Hotel Hanoi is a great fit.

For a 15-minute drive to My Dinh, plus breakfast and a large public bath,

there aren't many alternatives in this area.

If your itinerary is a higher priority than cost,

it's better to go for a 5-star hotel within walking distance of the stadium.

However, those options are more than double the price, and available rooms are far fewer.

If sightseeing is your main purpose,

it's better to stay in the Old Quarter and just accept the commute on days you need to travel to the stadium.

If it's your first time in Hanoi and you're worried about a bad accommodation experience, this is the place for you again.

The kiosk has Korean language support,

and having a familiar GS25 convenience store on the first floor is quite reassuring for a first trip.

October in Hanoi is when the weather is at its best,

so rooms get booked up quickly even without events.

Recently, there's also been a significant increase in business travelers from nearby companies, so it seems there aren't many rooms left.

If your dates are confirmed, it's best to book while rooms are still available

for peace of mind.
