Many of you might be planning a long-term Europe trip during this holiday season.
When traveling to Europe, an essential item you'll need is an eSIM for data roaming.
However, since it's a long trip and it's Europe, eSIM prices can be higher than you might expect.
Today, I'll share information ranging from how to book a Europe eSIM with a discount to its pros and cons, and usage tips!
How to Book a Europe eSIM with a Discount

First, I imagine many of you are already well-informed about the details of Europe eSIMs.
For those of you, the most important factor will likely be the price.
You can book it affordably by using the link below!

While eSIMs themselves aren't overly expensive, if you're traveling for an extended period and opting for an unlimited eSIM, discounts can make a significant difference in price.
Therefore, I recommend booking through the link above.
Pros and Cons of eSIMs Among Data Roaming Options
Next, I'll introduce the pros and cons of eSIMs among the various data roaming options available.

1. Affordable Price
The most significant advantage is its affordable price.
Since it can be downloaded via a QR code without a physical SIM, it's much cheaper compared to other roaming methods.
It's a great option for saving on travel expenses.

2. Instant Use Anywhere
Also, as I mentioned, it can be downloaded via QR, allowing you to purchase and use it instantly anywhere.
Sometimes people forget to install their eSIM before heading to the airport, but even then, you can simply buy and install it on the spot, so no worries!

3. No Worries About Losing Your Original SIM
What's more, there's no need to remove or replace your existing physical SIM, so you don't have to worry about losing it.
You'll have so many things to keep track of in Europe; adding a physical SIM to worry about would be quite cumbersome, wouldn't it?

While eSIMs offer many advantages, there is one limitation.
That is, there are restrictions on compatible devices.
As shown in the picture below, Galaxy phones from S23 or Fold4 onwards, and iPhones from SE onwards, can use eSIMs.
I've included a list of all compatible devices below for your reference.

Europe eSIM Compatible Countries

For European travel, it's common to visit not just one country but also neighboring ones.
Therefore, before booking an eSIM, you should check which countries it covers.

The eSIM I'm introducing covers 27 countries.
The covered countries are just like those in the picture above.
📌 27-Country eSIM Coverage List
Greece, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Latvia, Romania, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Malta, Belgium, Bulgaria, Sweden, Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia, Ireland, Estonia, Austria, Italy, Czech Republic, Croatia, Cyprus, Portugal, Poland, France, Finland, Hungary
Not only does it cover Spain and Portugal, where I recently traveled,
but it also includes popular destinations like Italy, France, Germany, and Greece!
This means you can get incredible value out of it for your adventures!
What About Data Volume?

First, for data capacity, you can choose from 1GB to 3GB, and even unlimited options.
That's a total of four types to pick from.
There's quite a price difference between 1GB and unlimited data,
so choosing the right data plan is key.

Personally, I recommend at least 2GB of data for most travelers.
And for those who use a lot of social media, or watch YouTube and Netflix
every evening, unlimited data is definitely the way to go.
Honestly, even if the unit price is a bit higher, having ample data
allows you to travel with so much more peace of mind.

How to Use Your eSIM (iPhone Guide)
Next, I'll explain how to install and use the eSIM, specifically for iPhones.
When you book your eSIM, if you enter your phone number,
you'll receive a KakaoTalk notification message to that number.
You can simply scan the QR code received in the notification to download it,
or easily install the eSIM through the Maltalk Now app.

While you're still in your home country, just install the eSIM and
turn it off – there's nothing else you need to prepare.
What's important is what to do once you arrive in Europe.
You can set it up as follows:

📍 How to Set Up Your eSIM in Europe
Make sure both your existing SIM and your Europe eSIM are 'On'
Turn on Data Roaming for your Europe eSIM 'On'
Set Cellular Data to 'Europe eSIM'
Setting up your Europe eSIM is actually incredibly simple!
If you follow the settings above, your data will connect
and be ready to use within 1-2 minutes!
My Experience Using the eSIM in Spain & Portugal
Finally, let me share my experience using the eSIM during my trip to Spain and Portugal.

I arrived at Barcelona Airport in Spain,
and after getting off the plane, collecting my luggage, and exiting,
I took a taxi to the city center.
As soon as I landed, my data connected instantly,
and I had no trouble calling a taxi with Uber.

Later, after arriving in the city, I had dinner on the bustling Passeig de Gràcia,
and even in the crowded city center,
the data was stable with no slowdowns.

Furthermore, in suburban areas like Montserrat or at high-altitude spots
like Montjuïc Castle, the data connection was excellent.

As I journeyed from Madrid into Portugal,
I crossed the border by land on an overnight bus.
I was curious how my data roaming would handle the transition.
There was a brief delay of about 5 minutes, but then,
like magic, my connection seamlessly switched from the Spanish carrier to the Portuguese one,
keeping my data flowing!

And throughout my entire time in Portugal, I enjoyed stable, reliable data with absolutely no hiccups.
