Hey there, fellow travelers!
I'm excited to finally share my review of a fantastic resort in Sokcho that we visited during the May holidays earlier this year.
If you're looking for a spacious family accommodation in Gangwon-do, specifically near Sokcho and Goseong, that can host up to 10 people, then the Sonofelice Village Delfino is an excellent choice!
Here's my full review of our stay.
1. Understanding the Sonohotels & Resorts Brands
Honestly, navigating the Sonohotels & Resorts brand names was super confusing when I was planning our trip, and even writing this review, I had to double-check my facts!
Sonofelice | Premium Brand | Vivaldi Park, Delfino |
Sol Beach | Beachfront hotel and resort concept | Yangyang, Samcheok, Jindo, Namhae |
Sonocalm | Slightly higher tier than Sonobelle | Goyang, Yeosu, Vivaldi Park, Delfino, Geoje, Jeju, Gyeongju |
Sonobelle | Family-friendly tourist resort | Byeonsan, Jeju, Cheonan, Cheongsong, Danyang, Yangpyeong, Vivaldi Park, Delfino |
Sonamoon | More budget-friendly tier | Haeundae |
Complex Resorts | Resorts with multiple brands | Vivaldi Park (Hongcheon) |
The "Delfino" attached to the Goseong location just adds to the confusion!
It seems that Vivaldi Park and Delfino are called "complex resorts" because they house several different Sonohotels brands within one large property.
2. Introducing Sonofelice Delfino
Still feeling a bit lost? I don't blame you! Delfino itself is home to Sonofelice, Sonobelle, and Sonocalm, all in one place!

Hahaha, they even have Cafe Ambrosia there!

With so many options clustered together, it gets even more confusing because Sonofelice is further divided into "Village" and "non-Village" categories. The specific property I stayed at was the one with "Village" in its name: Sonofelice Village Delfino!!!!!!!!!!

3. Sonofelice Village Delfino Suite Review

There's no separate check-in area at the Village itself; you'll check in at Sonocalm B building.

Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM, but room assignments are available starting at 12:00 PM.
When staying at Delfino Resort, whether you get a view of Seoraksan's Ulsanbawi rock formation or not makes a huge difference. If you're hoping for that iconic Ulsanbawi view from your room,
make sure to go early and get your room assigned first... ★
Unfortunately, since we visited during a holiday weekend, guests with consecutive night stays were given priority for the best rooms. So, even though we arrived at 12:30 PM, we ended up with a room that didn't have the view. Womp womp! (The staff are great at explaining which buildings and floors in the Village offer the best views.)

We were assigned to Building F, 1st floor. What you see as the entrance is actually the 2nd floor, so the 1st floor is one level down.
The suite I stayed in was the Sonofelice Village Royal Suite. The difference between the Gold and Royal suites is likely the size of the living room, as both can accommodate a standard of 7 guests and a maximum of 10.

As soon as you walk in, you're greeted by a long, spacious living room. There's a dining table that seats up to 7, and plenty of comfortable sofas.

While it's listed for up to 10 guests, honestly, it felt so big that 20 people could comfortably fit! Haha.

Below the TV, there's an electric fireplace, which would be perfect for creating a cozy ambiance on a winter trip.

The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, with an electric kettle, microwave, and plenty of dishes and utensils.

Unfortunately, we didn't get an Ulsanbawi view from our room. So, if you're in Sonofelice Village Building F, 1st floor, don't expect it! Haha.
The first two days of our trip were cloudy anyway, so we wouldn't have seen it. By the third day, Ulsanbawi finally appeared, and we headed to the observatory near the parking lot to admire it and take countless photos 🏔️
Back to the Sonofelice Village Delfino suite review: Upon entering the foyer, there's a restroom on the left and a bedroom on the right. Then, at each end of the living room, there's another bedroom, each with its own attached bathroom.
In total, that's 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms!

The bedroom near the kitchen had two single beds.

The attached bathroom was incredibly spacious! I didn't get all the photos, but it had a large bathtub and a separate toilet and shower stall.

The bedroom near the TV also featured two single beds.
While it wasn't an Ulsanbawi view, the lush green scenery outside was still lovely and put us in a great mood 💛💚

The bathroom connected to this room did not have a separate shower stall but was set up for showering in the bathtub.

The third bedroom did not have an attached bathroom and only contained a double bed.

The third bathroom was conveniently located off the living room. All bathrooms were stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash as amenities.
The suite was impeccably clean, and the generous space made for a truly comfortable stay.
The resort is conveniently located about a 15-20 minute drive from both Sokcho city center and Goseong, making it easy to explore either area.
Overall, I highly recommend Sonofelice Village Delfino as a fantastic family accommodation in Gangwon-do, near Goseong and Sokcho! :>
Since it's such a popular spot, booking for July-August might be challenging...!?

Check-in is at 3:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Room assignment begins at 12:00 PM, so if you would like a room with a view of Ulsanbawi Rock in Seoraksan National Park, we recommend arriving early to get your room assigned.
There is no separate check-in front desk in the Village area. You must go to Sono Calm Tower B to complete your check-in process.
The Royal Suite has a standard capacity of 7 guests and can accommodate up to a maximum of 10 guests. The suite features 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen for cooking.
It takes about 15 to 20 minutes by car from the resort to downtown Sokcho. It takes a similar amount of time to reach the Goseong area, making it convenient to visit nearby tourist attractions.
