Inside Doldol Pasta

The space here is incredibly spacious! Near the entrance, you'll find various tables, accommodating groups from four to six people, with generous spacing between them.

There are even private room areas, making it a great choice for group gatherings or special occasions.

We visited on a bustling Friday evening, and the place was alive with young university students! It felt like we might have been the oldest patrons there, but the lively atmosphere was infectious.

Interestingly, there's a section that feels like a renovated bathhouse. It brought back memories, as this spot used to be Midtown (미드타운), a popular hangout in Ulsan University's Mugeo-dong area years ago. It was a pleasant surprise to revisit this familiar space transformed into Doldol Pasta!

Near the entrance, a CESCO banner indicated their commitment to hygiene, which is always reassuring. The owner's dedication to creating delicious, value-for-money pasta was evident and truly impressive.
Doldol Pasta's Incredible Self-Service Bar

One of the biggest draws at Doldol Pasta (돌돌파스타) in Ulsan University's Mugeo-dong (무거동) is definitely the self-service bar! Imagine unlimited meatballs, hash browns, and corn salad – all free of charge! When you're enjoying pasta or pizza, pickles are often a welcome addition, and here you can grab as many as you like. They even have rice available, which would be perfect for mixing with any leftover pasta sauce, though the portions were so generous, we couldn't possibly fit in any rice!
If you need an apron, you can also grab one from the self-service bar.

And get this – even soft drinks are free with your order! The owner must be an angel! It's clear why this spot is so popular with university students; you can enjoy a full meal, including unlimited sides and drinks, without any extra cost.
Doldol Pasta Menu Highlights
Ordering is conveniently done via a tablet at your table. The menu is extensive, featuring their signature "Doldol Pasta" (돌돌파스타) dishes, along with a wide array of tomato, cream, oil, and rosé pastas. You'll also find pilafs, risottos, steaks, handmade pizzas, salads, side dishes, and a selection of beverages and alcoholic drinks.

After I finished taking photos, my husband returned from the self-service bar with a generous heap of meatballs, hash browns, and corn salad, along with plenty of sauce!

I might have envisioned a slightly more artful presentation, but it was absolutely perfect as an appetizer before our main dishes arrived. We devoured everything he brought back, especially enjoying the warm, crispy hash browns.
Our Order: A Delicious Review

We ordered the Shrimp Mozzarella Tomato Pasta and the Gorgonzola Pizza! And guess what? Our food was delivered right to our table by a robot! How cool is that?

With our free soft drinks from the self-service bar, we snapped a quick photo of our feast before digging in!

This pasta features homemade tomato sauce, generous mozzarella cheese, and succulent shrimp – a delightful combination!

True to its name, the "Doldol Pasta" arrived beautifully coiled, and we enjoyed twirling it around on the plate!

The cheese stretched beautifully, making each bite even more satisfying.

After mixing the sauce and ingredients well, we twirled the noodles around our forks and dug in! The pasta included a variety of vegetables like mushrooms, broccoli, olives, and onions. We opted for the spicy version, and the subtle kick truly enhanced the tomato sauce flavor. My husband, who has a lower spice tolerance than me, kept exclaiming "Phew, spicy!" but still thoroughly enjoyed it!
He even mentioned how good the spicy sauce would be with rice, so I reminded him about the free rice at the self-service bar, but he was already too full to eat any more!

Doldol Pasta's pizza comes in a delicious thin-crust style!

It was fantastic dipped in the accompanying honey, and it also paired surprisingly well with the pasta sauce. We ordered one pasta and one pizza, and the portions were incredibly generous for two people!
Looking around, we noticed many male university students were ordering one pasta per person, plus a whole pizza – now that's a serious appetite!

They even sell meal kits for their Shrimp Doldol Pasta and Myeongnan Cream Pasta, which is a great option if you loved the food in the restaurant and want to enjoy it conveniently at home.
If you're searching for a fantastic value Western restaurant near Ulsan University (울산대) or simply craving delicious pasta in Mugeo-dong (무거동), Doldol Pasta (돌돌파스타) is highly recommended!
With its amazing free self-service bar, it's definitely a place we'll be thinking about when we want a hearty and satisfying meal again soon!
