Hello, it's Jjinsaengsu here! : )
I'm back with a review of
Shibuya Sky Observatory,
often listed as a must-visit spot in Tokyo.
It's a place my local friends, whom I met
during my solo trip to Tokyo,
highly recommended I check out.
They told me that once you're up there,
you get a stunning view of
the entire Tokyo cityscape, all the way to Mount Fuji
– truly a 'view-master' spot!
Shibuya Sky
Location
📍 Shibuya Sky
日本 〒150-6145 Tokyo, Shibuya, 2-chōme−24−12 スクランブルスクエア 14階・45階 46階・屋上
📍Shibuya Sky is located in the Shibuya Scramble Square building,
right by Shibuya Station. The ticket counter is on the 14th floor,
and the observatory itself is on the very top floor!
✔️You'll find it right in front of the Shibuya Scramble Crossing!

I even got to cross the famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing,
and wow, it truly lived up to its 'scramble' name! 😂
The moment the light turned green, people just flooded out
in a massive wave! ~~
It looked like the perfect place to lose a child... (good thing I don't have any!)
We even ended up getting separated, all three of us,
while trying to film a video with our cameras! Can you believe it?
There are traffic wardens, but honestly...
if I were a driver,
I'd probably be a little annoyed! haha
Shibuya Sky Observatory
The 8 PM Time Slot

We visited Shibuya Sky at 8 PM.
For Shibuya Sky Observatory,
I absolutely recommend booking your tickets in advance!
‼️Tickets go on sale **28 days (4 weeks) in advance**
of your desired date, but I heard that **sunset and nighttime slots are incredibly popular**
**and sell out super fast**!!
⚠️ If tickets are sold out online,
there won't be any same-day sales available at the venue,
so make sure to book in advance!
Just so you know, we
pre-booked our 8 PM tickets
through Klook!

As you can see in the photos, Shibuya Sky Observatory has
an indoor area with massive glass windows.
And if you take the escalator up one more floor,

you'll find an incredible outdoor area where you can experience
wide-open panoramic views of Tokyo!
Honestly, when I first thought 'An observatory?'
I figured it might be just another obvious tourist spot,
and wondered if I really needed to go -
But I totally understood
**why my local friends insisted on taking me.**
**The scale of this place is just different! The sheer scale!**
With its **360-degree panoramic views**
and vast space, even with many people around,
I could enjoy the nightscape without feeling crowded or stressed.
**From the Shibuya Scramble Crossing**
If you're overwhelmed by the crowds,
escape to Shibuya Sky Observatory! Haha!

You can tell how thrilling it is just from the photos, right? Haha!
Since I visited in the summer,
I figured the daytime sun might be a bit too intense,
so I intentionally booked the 8 PM slot.
For a night view lover like me, it was absolutely perfect! 🤍

Especially for sunset times,
I hear ticket reservations are quite competitive,
so if you want to catch the sunset,
you should check ticket availability right away!
Shibuya Sky Observatory
Daytime

Apparently, this is what the daytime atmosphere is like
at Shibuya Sky Observatory!
I brought some photos so you can compare
Shibuya Sky's daytime and nighttime vibes! 👍🏻
Of course, you'd need the weather and clouds to cooperate as in the photos,
but it's amazing how different and wonderful it looks at different times of the day, isn't it?

Enjoying Shibuya Sky while lying down...
I'm so envious!
It looks so relaxing and wonderful! 🤍
Next time I visit Tokyo,
I definitely want to check it out during the daytime too!

Behind the Scenes...

After enjoying the night view to our hearts' content
at Shibuya Sky Observatory,
my friends and I went in search of a nearby Yokocho.
A 'Yokocho' refers to narrow alleys filled with
small food stalls (like pojangmacha?) or izakayas (Japanese pubs).

Here, we had a drink...
or maybe a hundred! Haha!
(It felt like we had 100 drinks!)
before heading back to our hotel.
Spending such a wonderful time with an amazing view
made for a truly happy day! 🤍
For anyone planning a trip to Tokyo,
I seriously, *seriously* recommend
Shibuya Sky Observatory! ‼️
