Since Seville Cathedral is incredibly popular with travelers from all over the world,

it can be tough to get tickets on-site during peak season.

So, I decided to book online in advance! 🎟️

Following my last post on booking the Royal Alcázar of Seville on the official website,

this time I'm sharing my Seville Cathedral & Giralda Tower booking guide.

First, let's look at the ticket prices.

I initially thought the official online ticket (€13) was cheaper than buying on-site (€14),

but a €1 online booking fee is added at checkout, making it the exact same €14 in total. haha

Still, I highly recommend booking online in advance to skip standing in line under the scorching sun! ✨

The most popular ticket is the 'General Admission' ticket.

With this single ticket, you get access to the interior of the Cathedral as well as the Giralda Tower, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of Seville!

Plus, it also includes free entry to the Church of El Salvador, located just a 10-minute walk away.

Because Seville Cathedral is so famous, tickets on the official website can sell out even a week in advance during peak season.

If there are no tickets left on the official site for your travel dates, checking for remaining tickets on third-party booking platforms is a great backup plan!

How to Book on Seville Cathedral's Official Website (Step-by-Step)

1. Access the Official Website and Select Your Tour

First, click the [BUY TICKETS] button on the home page of the official website,

and you'll see several options like general admission, tickets with an audio guide, guided tours, etc.

We chose the most basic ticket option: 'Visit to the Cathedral and Giralda'.

2. Select Your Visit Date

When the calendar pops up, simply select the month and day you want to visit.

You can only click on the active (available) dates on the calendar.

Dates that are grayed out or blocked mean they are already sold out or closed due to special events.

3. Choose Your Time Slot & Check Ticket Availability

Once you pick a date, a window showing available time slots will appear.

The remaining ticket count for each time slot is displayed in real-time.

💡Pro Tips for Choosing Your Entry Time💡

✔️ If you plan to visit both the Royal Alcázar and Seville Cathedral on the same day:

Hit up the Royal Alcázar first thing in the morning when it opens,

then grab a nice lunch and book Seville Cathedral for the afternoon! 

✔️ If you have a few days to spare in Seville:

I highly recommend booking Seville Cathedral for the earliest morning slot possible.

Not only is the morning weather much cooler and more comfortable,

but it's also the first slot to sell out because of tour groups. So grab them early!

Since we were staying in Seville for 4 days and 3 nights,

we decided to go with an early morning slot for Seville Cathedral too,

just like we did for the Alcázar.

There was only 1 ticket left for 10:45 AM, so we booked the 10:50 AM slot instead. All set!✨

4. Select Ticket Type & Number of Visitors

Once you've selected your time, choose how many people are going.

Simply click the '+' button next to the 'Individual (General)' option, which is €13.

If you have an International Student Identity Card (ISIC), you can select 'Student from 14 to 25 years old' to get a discount rate of just €7!

5. Review Order & Check Out

Make sure to enter your passport number correctly.

Double-check your selected date, time, number of tickets, and total price before proceeding to payment.

Once you receive your voucher in your email inbox, you're all set!

You can also download your tickets directly from the confirmation screen by clicking the [DOWNLOAD TICKETS] button.

✔ Locate the Dedicated Online Ticket Entrance

If you've booked your ticket online, there's absolutely no need to wait in the long on-site purchase queue.

Just head straight to the dedicated online ticket holders' gate, 'Puerta del Lagarto (The Gate of the Lizard)'.

Simply scan the QR code on your voucher and walk right in!

✔ How Long Does the Visit Take?

Inside the cathedral, you'll find incredible sights like the 'Tomb of Christopher Columbus' (held aloft by four kings of Spain),

the breathtaking 'Golden Altarpiece' (Retablo Mayor), and the peaceful 'Patio de los Naranjos' (Orange Tree Courtyard).

And if you want to climb the Giralda Tower—which features a winding ramp instead of stairs—to catch those panoramic views,

you should budget at least 75 to 90 minutes for a comfortable, unhurried visit.

Since Seville Cathedral is an active place of worship, there is a dress code you need to follow.

Sleeveless tops, short shorts, mini skirts, and flip-flops might get you turned away at the entrance.

We highly recommend bringing a light shawl, scarf, or wearing a short-sleeved shirt to keep covered!

Every Sunday from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM, you can enter the Cathedral and Giralda Tower for free.

But you can't just show up—you must reserve a [Cathedral and Giralda free] ticket on the official website in advance to get in.

It's incredibly competitive, so if it fits your schedule, make sure to jump online and book your free ticket early!✨

Recommended Route for Exploring Seville Cathedral

here is the most efficient route to explore Seville Cathedral!

Morning slots are relatively comfortable and less crowded,

so it's highly recommended to climb the Giralda Tower as soon as you enter.

Because the lines for the Giralda Tower only get longer as the day goes on,

tackling it first is the best choice for both your itinerary and your stamina!

After soaking in the panoramic views of Seville from the top, head back down

and take your time exploring the inside of the cathedral.
