Perched atop the Balangan cliffs,
I visited Senses Spa (Biu Biu Resort),
and honestly, I would have regretted not going!

Once you enter the resort,
finding the spa is easy.
Just follow the signs and you'll find it quickly.

There are two La Joya Resorts nearby.
The spa is located at La Joya II Biu Biu,
so make sure to tell your driver 'La Joya Two'.
🌊 Why I Recommend Senses Spa
First and foremost, its cliffside view
is its biggest draw.
I fell in love with it after seeing just one photo,
and searched for it on Google to find it.
It's still a relatively undiscovered gem,
making it a truly special find.
At the central reception, you'll fill out a pre-massage checklist.
They also offered a welcome drink, which tasted deliciously healthy! 😉
I tested about three different massage oils,
and the lavender scent was my favorite,
so I chose lavender.
Once you've chosen your massage oil,
a staff member will guide you to your private cabin.
Private cabins line the edge of the cliff,
and throughout your massage, you can hear the soothing sound of waves.
Open your eyes to the Indian Ocean view,
close them to the sound of the waves...
This truly felt like pure healing.
I wanted to enjoy it completely,
so I requested a 'separation room',
which was a cabin designed for one person.
I went purely for this view,
and it was truly, incredibly healing.
It felt too precious to fall asleep, so throughout the massage,
I tried my best to stay awake, listening to the waves.
The time was so precious,
it was an incredibly restorative and healing experience for me.
If you'd like a shower after your massage,
they'll guide you to the outdoor shower area.
There's also a restroom right next to the outdoor showers.
Now, I'm used to outdoor showers.
But how often do you get the chance to shower outdoors with an ocean view,
especially back in Korea? Almost never!
I was a bit flustered at first,
but showering outdoors turned out to be a unique and wonderful experience.
➕ Honest Massage Review
I opted for the "Balinese massage 80 minutes".
Usually, I prefer medium pressure for my massages.
(I tend to prefer lighter pressure over strong pressure.)
Even for me, the massage pressure was
quite light.
If you're coming here expecting a really invigorating massage,
it might feel a bit lacking.
However, if you're coming to enjoy the overall ambiance and unique experience
– that incredible combination of cliff views, the sound of waves, and a massage –
then I highly recommend it!
➕Tip!!
I booked and visited at 12 PM.
However, if you visit Senses Spa during sunset timing (4:30 PM - 7:00 PM),
it's said that after your massage, you can go to the cliffside open bar
and enjoy cocktails while watching the sunset.
If honeymooners or couples visit,
you can enjoy an even more romantic atmosphere,
so keep that in mind when booking!
🤔 Good things to know before visiting Senses Spa
Since this is an honest review, I'll also share a few things that were a slight drawback.
✔️ Accessibility
To get into this area,
you'll need to use a local taxi.
While it might be okay going in, when you leave,
Grab/taxi hailing services aren't available,
so you'll either have to walk to a designated spot
or use a local taxi.
Therefore, if you're staying at Biu Biu Resort,
it's best to use their services.
As for me, I scheduled Senses Spa
in the middle of my travel day to another area,
so I booked a one-day private taxi
and had no issues getting there and back.
If you have quite a bit of travel planned in the south on a particular day,
booking a one-day taxi
to visit Senses Spa
is also a good option. :)
I booked and used a one-day private taxi
about twice in Bali,
and I was extremely satisfied.
If your travel distance is long,
or you're going to an area where Grab taxis can't enter, like Senses Spa,
or your itinerary is complex,
or you need luggage storage when moving from one hotel to another,
using a one-day private taxi
can make your trip much more convenient.

✔️ The massage itself
wasn't necessarily a "massage of a lifetime!!""
but rather gentle and ordinary.
I'd say a big part of the experience is the view and the ambiance.
✔️ If you visit during the daytime,
it might get a little hot.
Even though there's air conditioning, the room I was in
didn't have windows that opened,
so it was a bit warm during the massage.
If you're booking for daytime, make sure to check if the room
has windows that open before you make your reservation.
✔️ Complementary services like welcome drinks
may not be available depending on the time of day or booking situation.
