Sanur Bali Food Guide 2026: 3 Must-Try Local Restaurants

Sanur, compared to other areas,

had a quiet and relaxed atmosphere that I really loved.

And as I explored around,

I found that there were actually quite a few amazing foodie spots.

Among the places I personally paid for and dined at,

I've picked out 3 Bali Sanur restaurants

that I'd definitely revisit.

From affordable local eateries beloved by locals,

to Bali's famous rib joint,

and even a perfect spot for dining with an ocean view,

these three places are all distinct,

so you can choose based on your preference :)

1. Bakso Balung Pak Rebo

This was, hands down,

the place I personally wanted to visit most on this Bali trip.

While searching for Sanur foodie spots in Bali,

I saw mentions that its taste was similar to Korean Galbitang (short rib soup),

and I knew I absolutely had to try it.

It's a bit far from Sanur's main town,

so I had to make a special trip to get there,

To cut to the chase,

it was Sanur's best value-for-money restaurant,

and I'm so glad I came.

My sibling and I ordered

Bakso Balungan (20,000 Rupiah),

a dish with meatballs + ribs.

We also added rice and drinks.

First, I took a spoonful of the broth,

and it was even more delicious than I expected.

​

The warm, savory broth

tasted exactly like Korean Galbitang (short rib soup).

The meatballs were tasty too,

but personally, the ribs were even better.

They were incredibly tender, with no gamey smell at all.

It was almost identical to the Galbitang I eat in Korea!!

I completely devoured the hot soup even in warm Bali, haha!

However, the portion size isn't huge,

so eating just this might leave you wanting a little more.

That's why you absolutely must order Lontong with it.

It's like a chewy sticky rice,

and when you mix it into the soup, it feels like a comforting, thick rice porridge.

It's definitely more filling than just having the soup alone.

And if you want a bit of a spicy kick,

you can add the Sambal sauce available on the table.

One thing to note is that there are

some small bone fragments at the bottom of the broth,

so it's best to eat carefully.

For drinks,

we had Es Teh Botol Sosro for 5,000 Rupiah.

It was a drink I'd never seen before,

so I was curious and decided to order one.

The taste was exactly like diluted iced tea, haha!

If you're curious like me, give it a try,

otherwise, it's a taste you can easily skip, hehe.

And what I really liked about this place was

the atmosphere, filled exclusively with locals.

When I visited,

there were far more locals than tourists,

it felt almost 100% local.

That's not to say it was dirty

or that I was worried about hygiene;

on the contrary, it was cleaner than I expected.

Although it's a bit out of the way from Sanur's main town,

the food is delicious and the prices are affordable,

so if you're curious about Bali-style Galbitang,

it's definitely worth making the special trip.

2. Naughty Nuri’s Warung

If you've ever searched for foodie spots in Bali,

you've definitely seen Naughty Nuri's Warung mentioned at least once.

It's a renowned restaurant famous for its pork ribs.

Their signature dish is, of course, the ribs.

The pork ribs are infused with a sweet and savory sauce,

making them great to eat with rice.

But most importantly, the meat was incredibly tender.

It was even better than ribs from a well-known chain...

It has over 5,000 Google reviews with an impressive 4.8-star rating.

The menu we ordered for two women was

Premium Ribs (Half Size) ~$255

Crispy Pork Belly ~$91

Both were delicious,

but the **ribs were definitely the highlight here.**

With the sauce deeply infused

and the meat so tender,

it was clear why this place is famous for its Bali ribs.

We ordered the half size,

and it was a good amount for two women.

Together with the pork belly,

it was just right.

Just a heads-up though,

**service charges and taxes are separate.**

It's the kind of flavor everyone will love, no matter their preference,

and the atmosphere feels like a friendly family restaurant,

so it's great for anyone you go with :)

**Plus, there are separate air-conditioned rooms available!**

3. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. BALI

We stumbled upon this place while shopping at **ICON BALI**.

The reason we went here was

**...you can enjoy your meal with an ocean view!**

​

That's why we deliberately chose an outdoor seat with a sea view

instead of sitting inside.

The menu we ordered was

BOAT TRASH WITH SOFT SHELL CRAB

It's a mixed fried platter with shrimp, small crabs, potatoes, fish, and more,

all fried together.

First off, the shrimp was delicious, of course,

but the **fish was surprisingly tender and tasty!**

Being fried, it could potentially feel a bit greasy,

but when paired with beer,

it was a perfect match!!!

**This dish is absolutely perfect as a beer snack.**

​

The small crabs were also crispy enough to eat with the shell,

making it fun to pick at them one by one.

And the staff here were

**incredibly friendly.**

​

Their service was excellent from the moment we ordered,

and we felt well-cared for throughout our meal,

making it a truly pleasant dining experience.

The indoor area has air conditioning,

so you can eat comfortably even in hot weather,

**but we opted for an outdoor table because we wanted to enjoy the sea view.**

It was a *little* humid, but since it was sunset, it wasn't too hot.

Looking out at the ocean,

enjoying shrimp, fries, and a cold beer,

that's what a Bali trip is all about!

However, compared to Bakso and Nuri's

which we introduced earlier, this place is on the pricier side.

Still, if you're in Sanur

and want to combine shopping with an ocean view

and a great atmosphere for your meal,

it's definitely worth a visit.
