No matter where I travel, I always adore a good night view, and Bangkok's Wat Arun by night is absolutely legendary!
While there are many famous restaurants and bars with Wat Arun views, securing a reservation can be a nightmare. What if you could enjoy that magnificent view from the comfort of your own hotel room?
And if you pick the wrong accommodation, you spend every evening struggling with transportation. But what if your hotel was right across from Wat Arun, making travel time zero minutes?
With these thoughts in mind, I decided to book a stay at a hotel with a direct Wat Arun view!
There are several well-known hotels offering Wat Arun views, but many come with a hefty price tag, often ranging from ~$220 to ~$365 per night. After some deliberation, I discovered Sala Arun, a fantastic option that combines stunning views with excellent value for money. Here's my take!

The hotel isn't huge, so you'll enter through what looks like a restaurant entrance to find the check-in desk. Since it's an older building, there wasn't an elevator, but the staff were incredibly kind and helped carry our luggage up, so it wasn't an issue at all.

While there were more budget-friendly rooms available, my main goal was to see Wat Arun, so a "River View" room was a must! It was absolutely wonderful to see Wat Arun right from my bed. The photos truly don't do justice to how magnificent it felt.

The room and bathroom were also very clean and well-maintained.

This is what the Wat Arun view from the room looks like in the evening. Simply magical!
Eagle Nest Rooftop Bar
This hotel also features the "Eagle Nest Rooftop Bar" on its top floor. As a guest, I received a complimentary drink coupon, which was perfect for enjoying a beverage and the night view without the crowds. It was such a peaceful and enjoyable experience.

The night view from the rooftop bar is breathtaking, with an unobstructed panorama. It wasn't overly loud or boisterous; rather, it had a lovely ambiance where small groups could chat and savor the view. Highly recommended!
Pricing
I compared prices for a deluxe river view room, including breakfast, for weekdays in October. Isn't it a great deal to get a direct Wat Arun view room with breakfast for around ~$145?
Given that Sala Arun is a small boutique hotel, the river view rooms tend to book up quickly. If your travel dates are set, it's essential to make your reservation in advance.

Breakfast
The restaurant on the first floor, where breakfast is served, also boasts a fantastic view. Breakfast isn't a buffet; instead, you select from a menu, and your meal is brought to you. There's also a self-service bar with drinks and simple snacks.

If you're searching for a great value hotel with an incredible Wat Arun view in Bangkok, I highly recommend "Sala Arun"!
