After Engelberg, I recently embarked on a journey to
a slightly different Alpine village in Switzerland.
That's right, Saas-Fee 🇨🇭

It's a tranquil village surrounded by towering Alpine peaks,
and simply walking around gave me the quintessential Swiss travel experience.
I decided to spend a day in Saas-Fee and truly unwind at a hotel,
and because accommodation is so crucial for that, I chose a truly wonderful place to stay!
The place I chose was none other than
Walliserhof Grand-Hotel&Spa

This 5-star hotel is located in the heart of Saas-Fee,
and it's equipped not only with comfortable rooms but also a large spa and restaurants,
making it a truly memorable stay during my Swiss trip.
Today, I'll be sharing my review of the Walliserhof Grand-Hotel&Spa in Saas-Fee,
a Swiss hotel where I personally stayed. 🏔️
🇨🇭 First, what kind of place is Saas-Fee?
Saas-Fee is an Alpine village located in the Valais canton of Switzerland.

Situated at an altitude of approximately 1,800m (5,900ft) and surrounded by majestic Alpine mountains,
the scenery is absolutely stunning from the moment you arrive in the village.
What makes Saas-Fee truly special is that it's a car-free village,
meaning you won't find the constant traffic atmosphere of a city.
Instead, it's the perfect place to simply stroll leisurely
and soak in the breathtaking Alpine scenery.

I absolutely adored this kind of atmosphere! 💚

Rather than rushing from one tourist spot to another,
it felt more like slowly savoring the village itself.
That's why, personally, I think Saas-Fee is the perfect Alpine destination
to spend a day or two relaxing during your Swiss adventure!
🏨 The Hotel Where I Stayed in Saas-Fee
The Walliserhof Grand-Hotel & Spa
is a 5-star Grand Hotel nestled in the heart of Saas-Fee.

From its exterior, the hotel's chalet-style building perfectly complements the Alpine village atmosphere,
making me feel like I had truly arrived in a Swiss Alpine village from the moment I first saw it. 🤍

Saas-Fee itself is such a charming village,
that even the walk to the hotel was picturesque.

Just a short walk around the hotel takes you right into the heart of the village,
and its proximity to the gondola and bus station made its location truly appealing.
💰 What's the Price of a 5-Star Hotel in Saas-Fee?
As a 5-star hotel, the Walliserhof Grand-Hotel & Spa isn't exactly a budget option;
instead, it's more of a premium hotel perfect for those days when you want to truly unwind
and relax in Saas-Fee.

Swiss hotel prices can vary quite a lot depending on your travel dates and room type,
so when I'm looking for accommodation, I always make sure to input my exact dates
to check the actual price.

Some rooms even offer balconies or breathtaking Alpine/glacier views,
so it's a good idea to compare options based on your desired features.
👇🏻If you're looking for accommodation in Saas-Fee, be sure to check the prices first.
🛏️ A Room Perfect for an Alpine Getaway
Overall, the hotel room exuded
that distinct warm ambiance characteristic of Alpine hotels.

With its wood-toned interior,
it felt clean yet wonderfully cozy, not at all cold.
After a full day of exploring during my Swiss trip,
it was the perfect atmosphere to come back to and simply relax.

The bedroom feels spacious, and the room comes equipped with Wi-Fi, a TV, a minibar,
and a coffee maker.

Personally, when I travel, I prioritize a room where I can truly relax and unwind, rather than just one that looks pretty.
And the size and condition of the bed were absolutely satisfying too.

Isn't it adorable how they use a wooden figurine of a black-faced sheep, a symbol of Switzerland,
to indicate whether you want your duvet changed?

Since Switzerland is a country renowned for trekking, they sell tumblers and trekking bags in the lobby,
but get this – they're also provided in the closets of every room for you to try out during your stay! (Just a heads-up!)

Also, depending on the room type,
there are rooms with balconies or those offering stunning glacier views.
So, if you make it all the way to Saas-Fee, I thought it would be wonderful
to choose a room with a great view if possible.

Imagine waking up to the Alps right outside your window –
wouldn't that just set a different mood for your morning? 🏔️
🧖🏻♀️ My absolute favorite thing about this hotel was...
The Grand Spa!
This was truly the highlight of my stay at the hotel.
The fact that there's a sprawling 2,100㎡ Grand Spa here is simply amazing!

It's a sanctuary where you can enjoy an indoor swimming pool, of course,
but also a sauna, a steam bath, a whirlpool, relaxation areas,
and even various treatments.

A trip to Switzerland actually demands more energy than you might think.
From morning sightseeing
to climbing mountains,
taking cable cars,
and walking some more…
Especially when exploring the Alps, after a full day of venturing around,
your legs can get quite tired by evening. 😂

That's why, on this particular day, returning to the hotel and
relaxing leisurely at the spa was absolutely wonderful.

I think this is the true charm of a 5-star hotel.
It's not just a place to sleep;
the very act of returning to the hotel after a day of exploration
feels like an integral part of the travel experience itself! 😌

If you're staying 1-2 nights in Saas-Fee,
I highly recommend not packing your sightseeing schedule too tightly for one of those days.
Instead, consider a blissful day of Alps → Hotel → Spa → Dinner → Relaxation.
It sounds absolutely perfect, doesn't it? 🤍
🍽️ Dining Options Right Inside the Hotel
Walliserhof boasts several restaurants right within the hotel itself.

From an Alpine-style restaurant to an Italian restaurant, and even a spot where you can savor Swiss fondue – there's a fantastic variety!
It's a huge plus not having to travel far for dinner after a long day!

Especially on days when you've been exploring the mountains all day long,
it's incredibly convenient to enjoy a delicious meal right at the hotel
and then head straight back to your room.

When choosing accommodation for your Saas-Fee trip, it's not just about checking nearby restaurants,
but also a good idea to see if the hotel itself has a restaurant!

That dessert was absolutely the dessert of my life! ㅠㅠ
A yogurt-flavored cake with tangerine filling, and tangerine sorbet... sheer bliss!
🥐 Breakfast: An Essential Part of the Journey
When you're traveling, hotel breakfast is subtly but significantly important, isn't it?
Especially in Switzerland, with so many itineraries involving having breakfast
and then heading straight to the mountains or tourist spots,

it's really beneficial to start your day with a hearty meal.

Walliserhof also operates a fantastic breakfast buffet.

Rather than rushing through breakfast and heading out in the morning,
I absolutely cherish the time I get to sit down leisurely, enjoy my breakfast,

and then check where I'll go today and what the weather will be like.
It's one of my favorite moments while traveling. ☕️

The breakfast restaurant's view also plays a huge part in the travel experience! 👀💕
📍 Location Matters for Your Saas-Fee Adventure
Walliserhof is located right in the heart of Saas-Fee, so
it was incredibly convenient to explore the village.

Since Saas-Fee itself is a car-free village (autofrei),
strolling around the hotel and discovering the area on foot was a delightful experience.

What's more, just a short walk from the hotel, you'll find Saas-Fee's charming little shops, cozy cafes,
and breathtaking Alpine scenery. Even if you've spent some time relaxing in your room, stepping outside
immediately immerses you in that wonderful travel vibe!

The gondola station is also within walking distance,
making it a convenient location for anyone planning to head up the mountains.
And get this – there's even a Coop supermarket right in front of the hotel! Talk about being in the 'Coop-zone'! ㅠㅠ
🤍 After Staying There Myself, I Think It's Perfect For These Travelers:
What I truly felt was the charm of Walliserhof Grand-Hotel & Spa
after actually staying there wasn't just that it's a beautiful 5-star hotel, but rather
that you can truly complete your entire day within the accommodation itself.
