Discover Ripa Coffee in Barcelona's Eixample district. With a 4.9 Google rating, this cozy, dog-friendly specialty coffee shop serves the best brew in town.

RIPA Coffee: A Hidden Specialty Gem in Barcelona
Finding truly exceptional specialty coffee in Spain can sometimes be a treasure hunt.
Here is my honest review of RIPA Coffee,
the absolute best brew I had during my entire trip.
On the hunt for a perfect iced Americano in Barcelona?
Look no further. This is the spot.
1. The Vibe and Essential Info
Opening Hours | Mon - Fri: 08:00 AM - 08:30 PM Sat - Sun: 08:30 AM - 08:30 PM |
Closed | Open Daily |
Reservation Required | No |

I stumbled upon this incredible little cafe while wandering through Barcelona.
It wasn't on my pre-planned itinerary, but as I walked past, the rich aroma of freshly ground beans pulled me right in. A quick search revealed an impressive 4.9-star rating on Google Maps.
As a massive coffee enthusiast, I simply couldn't walk past without trying it.
The verdict? Hands down, the best coffee I had in Spain.
2. Discovering a Specialty Oasis

The entrance features a super cute, dog-friendly sign, complete with a water bowl outside for neighborhood pups. If you are lucky, you might get to pet some local four-legged regulars while waiting for your order!

The menu is clearly written in English on the wall, making ordering a breeze.
Interestingly, you won't see a standard "Iced Americano" listed on the board. However, don't worry—you can easily order one anyway. It came out to around ~$4.50.
(Paying over ~$1.10 just for ice felt a bit steep, but the quality of the brew made it completely worth it!)

They also offer a small, curated selection of fresh pastries and cookies.
The vibrant yellow tiled interior gives the shop a warm, welcoming energy. Note that there is no sit-down dining area inside; it is designed primarily as a grab-and-go specialty espresso bar.

To the side, they have self-serve lids, sleeves, and napkins, alongside a selection of home brewing gear and retail coffee beans. If Barcelona had been the final stop on my European itinerary, I definitely would have picked up a bag of their roasted beans.
The packaging design is absolutely stunning.

Even the takeaway cup design is beautifully minimalist.
During my short wait, I noticed a steady stream of locals popping in for their daily fix. RIPA Coffee is nestled in the Eixample district—a lovely, authentic neighborhood rather than a crowded tourist hub.
Even though it is slightly off the main tourist track, it is still incredibly accessible from the city center and absolutely worth the short detour.
3. Elevating the Spanish Coffee Scene

While neighboring Italy is famous for its historic espresso culture, Spain has traditionally lagged a bit behind in the specialty, third-wave coffee movement. However, the scene in Barcelona has been exploding with fantastic new roasters lately.
RIPA Coffee stood out as a highlight of my trip, and it is the first place I will head back to when I return to Barcelona.
If you are planning a coffee pilgrimage, I also highly recommend checking out Nomad Frutas Selectas, which is widely considered one of the highest-rated specialty coffee spots in Spain. Unfortunately, its location and my tight schedule did not align this time, but it is high on my list for next time!
Make sure to bookmark both of these spots if you appreciate a truly exceptional pour.
Writing this makes me incredibly nostalgic for those sunny mornings in Spain...
Wishing everyone heading to Barcelona an amazing, caffeine-filled adventure!
