Today, I'm excited to introduce you to a fantastic,

budget-friendly accommodation that's close to Plitvice Lakes National Park,

and priced around ~$74!

It's Plitvice Guesthouse Green Valley.

It's super close, just a 5-minute drive to the

Plitvice Lakes National Park parking lot.

Parking Area

We visited by rental car,

and they have an outdoor parking area

with assigned spots for each room,

so you never have to worry about finding a space!

Outside Area

Plitvice Guesthouse Green Valley boasts

✔️a spacious outdoor area,

perfect for unwinding and spending some quality time.

The area around Plitvice is wonderfully preserved,

so you can escape the city and enjoy fresh air and plenty of

birdsong.

When planning our Plitvice trip, I was a bit worried

about the lack of supermarkets or restaurants

around the National Park,

wondering how we'd manage meals and fill our free time at the guesthouse.

But to my pleasant surprise, the guesthouse courtyard was quite spacious,

✔️complete with a swing chair,

✔️benches, and communal tables,

​

making it an ideal spot to spend some peaceful, relaxing time.

✔️ There were even adorable cats to photograph and enjoy!

And in one corner of the yard,

✔️there was a trampoline for kids to play on!

I wanted to jump too, but I resisted the urge. 😉

Other families were also

sitting, chatting, and

relaxing in the yard,

so it never felt too quiet or deserted.

Double Room with Garden View

Despite the affordable price

and it being a guesthouse, I wasn't expecting much,

but the room condition was cleaner and better

than I anticipated!

There was even air conditioning, which kept us cool and comfortable.

It felt like a super clean, cozy mountain lodge!

It even had its own private bathroom,

and since we were careful when going in and out,

we didn't encounter any bugs!

There was a hairdryer,

the shower facilities were great,

and the hot water flowed abundantly!

Dinner Time!

Burger 20 Euros / for 2 people

We decided to keep dinner simple and eat right at our accommodation.

✔️ Nearby Restaurants Can Be Pricey

We had hoped to find a nice restaurant nearby,

but it turned out

most of them were quite expensive.

Even the guesthouse restaurant seemed a bit pricey just by looking at the menu.

Since we weren't super hungry, we decided to just share one serving

and ordered only one item.

But when the food arrived, the portion size was incredible!

Phew, ordering two would have been a disaster...!

Realizing it was more like a portion for two people rather than one,

the price felt quite reasonable.

The cooking time was a bit longer than expected,

perhaps because it's slow food,

but the taste was definitely not bad! 😄

If you're looking for a simple meal, I highly recommend the guesthouse burger!

There aren't any supermarkets near Plitvice,

so it's a great idea to stock up on easy meals

in a bigger city like Zagreb before you arrive!

On the way, we stopped at Maxi Market, which was the closest big supermarket.

While the supermarket itself was huge,

the ready-to-eat meals were quite expensive and low quality.
