We recently visited Phu Quoc for our second child's first birthday trip.
Looking back at our itinerary, it makes me chuckle a bit.
Movenpick → New World → Palm Bay.
With a toddler and our older child, we actually moved between three different accommodations during our 4-night, 6-day stay!
You might wonder why we made such a choice while traveling with two little ones, but each move had a clear purpose!
Movenpick, perfect for kids with direct pool access from our balcony.
New World, chosen to truly savor its beautiful beach and stunning pools.
And Palm Bay, a convenient spot to rest, freshen up, and organize our luggage before our early morning flight.
Our only major sightseeing spot was Vinpearl Safari, but we also enjoyed a chocolate happy hour, explored the night market, and even caught a fire show at Sailing Club.
Now, let's dive into our realistic 4-night, 6-day Phu Quoc itinerary with two kids!

DAY 1|Overnight Flight with Two Kids, The Journey Began Before We Even Landed
We arrived at Incheon Airport at 5:30 PM for our 8:35 PM flight.
Our reasoning for choosing an overnight flight was simple: we hoped the kids would sleep soundly on the plane, allowing us parents a peaceful arrival in Phu Quoc.
But anyone who's flown overnight with children knows this truth: sleep doesn't always follow the itinerary!
Still, we didn't want to fumble upon arrival, so we wisely pre-booked Fast Track service and airport pickup.

We landed in Phu Quoc at 12:50 AM.
As the airport doors opened, a wave of hot, humid air enveloped us!
More than the excitement of a new country, my immediate thought was, 'I just want to shower and lie down!'
Imagine trying to navigate immigration with two kids and luggage, then finding a SIM card and a taxi – we would have been exhausted before the trip even began.
Past me, booking that Fast Track and pickup? You're a genius!
DAY 2|Direct Pool Access! A Day Enjoying Movenpick Exclusively
After arriving and checking into Movenpick Resort, the reality of being in Phu Quoc finally sank in.
Since we arrived in the wee hours, our morning schedule the next day was, understandably, non-existent.
And here's why our room was absolutely fantastic! We had a pool access room, meaning the balcony door opened directly to the swimming pool.

No need to pack a separate swim bag or trek a long distance to the pool; just slip on our swimsuits, open the door, and jump right in!
When traveling with kids, could there be a more convenient setup?!
If the kids got tired from playing, they could simply pop back into the room to rest, and when they were ready for more fun, just open the balcony door and head back out!
This layout was especially perfect with a toddler in tow.
On this day, we decided to fully immerse ourselves in Movenpick, skipping the night market and other attractions.
After breakfast and some playtime in our pool-access room, we made sure to catch Movenpick's Chocolate Happy Hour at 3:30 PM.
What kid could resist chocolate?!
You could say chocolate was our main attraction for the day!
Seamlessly moving between the pool and our room like it was our own backyard, and indulging in sweet chocolates – there was simply no reason to venture out.
Even though we spent the entire day after our early morning arrival solely at Movenpick, it was far from boring.
In fact, I think we would have regretted it if we had booked this room and then spent our day exploring elsewhere.
→ Direct pool access from your balcony!
DAY 3|Our Trip's Only Major Attraction: Vinpearl Safari
On March 4th, 2026, we departed for Vinpearl Safari at 9:00 AM.
This was the only major attraction we had boldly marked on our itinerary for this trip.
Our plan was to visit the Giraffe Restaurant and enjoy feeding elephants and monkeys, allowing the kids to get up close with the animals.

But this day wasn't just about the safari!
We had to return to Movenpick to collect our stored luggage, then transfer to New World Resort.
Two kids, luggage, and a safari visit – all in one day.
While it looks simple on the itinerary, this was actually the busiest day of our trip.
Only after checking into New World in the evening did it feel like we had finally completed everything for the day.
DAY 4|At New World, We Swam, and Swam Some More
New World was the accommodation where we spent the longest duration on this trip.
Our reason for moving resorts was quite simple: we wanted to enjoy some serious water fun with the kids.

We spent the day swimming and napping at New World, with no fixed schedule or places to rush to.
Only in the evening did we head out to the Sailing Club for dinner and to watch their spectacular fire show.
Pool time by day, fire show by night.
For a trip with kids, isn't that a pretty perfect day?
We didn't hit multiple tourist spots, but we certainly didn't miss out on what we wanted to do in Phu Quoc that day.
DAY 5|Rest at Palm Bay, Plus Duong Dong Night Market and a Massage
We checked out of New World at 12:00 PM.
The catch? Our flight wasn't until 1:50 AM the next morning!
It was too early to head to the airport, and spending that much time outside with kids and luggage was simply too long and impractical.
So, we checked into Palm Bay Resort.

The role of our final accommodation was clear.
Let the kids rest, reorganize our suitcases, and have a refreshing shower without getting sweaty again.
It wasn't so much a resort to enjoy the 'vacation vibe' but more like our family's own comfortable departure lounge.
After a brief rest and shower, we ventured out to explore Duong Dong Night Market and even indulged in a massage.
Instead of staying cooped up in the resort on our last day, we opted to soak in Phu Quoc's evening ambiance one last time and unwind with a massage before heading to the airport, easing away any travel fatigue.
The long, awkward gap before our early morning flight was perfectly filled: rest at Palm Bay → Duong Dong Night Market → Massage → Airport. It felt like we made the most of every moment, even on our departure day.

We arrived at the airport around 12:00 AM, boarded our 1:50 AM flight, and landed in Incheon at 9:30 AM.
While whether a last-day accommodation is essential for an overnight flight with kids might vary for each family, for us, it was the perfect choice, allowing us to rest, refresh, and even enjoy the night market and a massage before departure!
DAY 6|From Phu Quoc to Incheon
Departing Phu Quoc at 1:50 AM, we arrived back in Incheon at 9:30 AM.
And just like that, our 4-night, 6-day Phu Quoc trip, celebrating our second child's first birthday, came to an end!
While returning home always feels the most comfortable, it's inevitable that seeing the photos immediately makes me want to travel again.
Our Second Child's First Birthday Trip: Even If They Don't Remember
Our toddler might not remember this trip. And that's perfectly okay.
Because we'll remember the photos of them standing with the giraffes, splashing in the pool, and eagerly awaiting chocolate happy hour.
We didn't fill this first birthday trip with an overload of special events.
Instead, we focused on activities the kids would love, like the safari and swimming, and strategically used accommodations to manage our early arrival and late departure, ensuring parents were less exhausted.
Ultimately, the best thing we did on this trip wasn't seeing countless sights, but rather enjoying Phu Quoc in a way that perfectly suited our family.
Our positive first experience in Phu Quoc was so memorable that it inspired us to return a year later, celebrating my mother's 60th birthday with both our parents and the kids.

Though it was the same Phu Quoc, our first itinerary was child-focused, while the second, with three generations, was completely different.
If you're planning a trip to Phu Quoc with your children, we hope our first 4-night, 6-day itinerary offers some helpful inspiration!
