To start, Paris public transport tickets generally fall into five main categories:
1️⃣ Navigo Pass: Unlimited travel for a set period.
2️⃣ Paris Visite Pass: 1, 2, 3, or 5-day unlimited travel.
3️⃣ Metro, Train, RER Tickets: Single-use tickets.
4️⃣ Bus, Tram Tickets: Single-use tickets.

Navigo Pass Breakdown

The Navigo transport card comes in two main flavors:
Navigo Easy allows you to load single tickets, daily passes, and airport tickets. However, it does not permit entry or exit at airport stations for lines like RER B to Charles de Gaulle Airport or Metro Line 14 to Orly Airport. Orlyval is also excluded.
Navigo Découverte is for weekly and monthly passes.

The Navigo Découverte weekly pass has one crucial caveat:
It's not valid for 7 days from your purchase date. Instead, it's strictly valid from Monday to Sunday.
For example, if you buy a weekly pass on a Thursday, you can only use it until Sunday of that same week. It won't work the following Monday.
Paris Visite Pass

Unlike the Navigo weekly pass, the Paris Visite Pass offers more flexibility. It's an unlimited transport pass that activates from its first use and is valid for the chosen number of consecutive days (1, 2, 3, or 5 days).
It also includes airport transfers and offers discounts at various tourist attractions. However, this convenience comes at a higher price point.
Buying Your Pass with Apple Wallet

If you're an iPhone user, you're in luck! You can conveniently purchase and manage your Paris transport passes directly through the Wallet app.
(For Android users, you'll need to use the IDF Mobilités app or purchase passes in person. Refer to the guide below for more details.)

No, the Navigo Découverte weekly pass is strictly valid only from Monday to Sunday, regardless of the purchase date. Therefore, even if you buy it on Thursday, it can only be used until Sunday of that week.
You cannot directly purchase Navigo weekly and monthly passes in the iPhone Wallet app. You must pay for the pass through the IDF Mobilités app and then add it to your iPhone Wallet to use it.
When taking regular routes, the airport ticket might be recognized first, causing an error. You need to go to the Express Transit Card settings in your card details, turn off the airport ticket, and only keep the weekly pass active for regular routes.
With the Navigo Easy 1-day pass, you can only travel on the regular sections of the RER B line; boarding or alighting at the airport station is not allowed. To travel to the airport, you must use a separate airport ticket costing 14 euros or a Paris Visite pass.
