Palmilla Beach Club Bali Review: The Ultimate South Bali Tour Stop

If you are mapping out your custom South Bali day tour, you absolutely need to add Palmilla Beach Club at Melasti Beach to your itinerary. Located just a short 10-minute drive (about 2 miles) from the famous Tanah Barak Cliff, this hidden gem sits right at the southern tip of Bali. It offers a completely different, more laid-back vibe compared to Uluwatu’s famous Single Fin. Here is my honest review of spending an afternoon at Palmilla Beach Club.

Palmilla Beach Club Quick Info

✅ Location: Melasti Beach, Ungasan
✅ Opening Hours: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

✅ Palmilla Beach Club Entry Fee: Card payments are 100,000 IDR (approx. $6.50 USD), while cash payments are slightly higher at 125,000 IDR (approx. $8 USD). Card is definitely the way to go here!

Outside food and drinks are strictly prohibited, but you are more than welcome to bring your own pool towel.

✅ Melasti Beach Entry Fee: There is a small community entrance fee for Melasti Beach itself. If you book a private South Bali cab tour, your driver usually covers this beach fee at the gate (I highly recommend booking a tour package that includes all local parking and beach entry fees, though keep in mind beach club entry fees are always separate).

Adding Palmilla Beach Club to my custom South Bali itinerary was hands down the best decision. Spending the hottest hours of the day lounging by a pool beats walking around under the blazing sun any day!
Daybeds vs. Free Walk-In Seating

✅ Above is the official daybed pricing guide for your reference.

The minimum spends here are slightly higher compared to typical beach clubs in Canggu or Seminyak. This makes sense, as South Bali (Uluwatu/Ungasan) is known for its high-end luxury resorts and upscale cliffside venues.

They provide clean showers and changing rooms on-site. I wore my swimsuit under my clothes when entering, and simply changed into fresh, dry clothes in the changing room before heading to our next tour stop.

Since I only planned to stay for about 2.5 hours to swim and relax, I opted for the free walk-in seating instead of booking a daybed.
✅ All the seating areas shown in the photos above are completely free to use with no minimum spend! The second floor is incredibly spacious, offering plenty of breezy, shaded spots to kick back.

✅ Insider Tip: The absolute best free spot is the far-right side of the pool bar counter. It is perfectly shaded by towering palm trees, keeping you cool and comfortable even during the peak afternoon heat!
Food & Drink Menu

I originally planned on grabbing lunch here, but I was still completely full from my resort breakfast. However, their wood-fired pizzas looked absolutely delicious and are perfect for sharing!

✅ Here is the best part: your Palmilla Beach Club entry ticket can be redeemed for either a towel rental OR a complimentary drink (like an ice-cold beer or soft drink). I gladly redeemed mine for a refreshing Bintang beer!
Why It's the Perfect South Bali Tour Stop

✔️ Dual Experience: You get to enjoy both the beach club amenities and the pristine sands of Melasti Beach in one go.
✔️ Seamless Geography: The location is incredibly convenient—only 10 minutes from Tanah Barak Beach and 25 minutes from Uluwatu Temple.
✔️ Instagram Heaven: Endless aesthetic backdrops to capture those perfect Bali memories.
✔️ Beat the Heat: The perfect midday refuge to swim, cool off, and recharge during the hottest hours of the day.
Honest Review & Final Thoughts

Because I visited as part of a private day tour, I was able to leave all my heavy luggage safely in the car with my driver and enter the beach club with just my essentials. It made the whole experience so much more relaxing!

The panoramic views of Melasti Beach are absolutely stunning. If you ever feel like dipping your toes in the ocean, the sandy shoreline is just a few steps away.

Normally, sightseeing around South Bali in the middle of the day can get exhausting due to the intense tropical heat. Spending 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM swimming, sipping cold beers, and listening to chill beats here felt like absolute paradise.

The water here is a brilliant, clear turquoise that you just won't find in Canggu or Seminyak. It has a much more exclusive, laid-back, and peaceful atmosphere compared to mega-clubs like La Brisa or Potato Head.

The backdrop of the towering white limestone cliffs behind the beach club creates a majestic, dramatic setting that is incredibly unique to the Bukit Peninsula.
If you are planning a private taxi tour of South Bali—especially on your checkout day before heading to the airport—I highly recommend carving out a few hours for Palmilla Beach Club. Hopefully, this review helps you plan your dream Bali getaway!
