With Vienna's world-famous Christmas markets kicking off in mid-November, winter is a magical time to visit Austria. If you are planning a European winter getaway or a summer adventure in 2026, finding the right accommodation is key.
Today, I am sharing a review of a fantastic Vienna hotel that is close to major attractions, incredibly spacious, and offers amazing value for your money.
Convenient Location in Vienna, Austria

During my trip to Vienna, I stayed at the Novotel Suites Wien City Donau.
Situated right by the beautiful Danube River, this hotel is exceptionally convenient because there is a subway station right outside the entrance.

You can take a direct train to Vienna's main historic center, where you will find St. Stephen's Cathedral and the famous Cafe Sacher. The ride takes only about 10 minutes, making sightseeing incredibly easy.
Staying here is much quieter and significantly more budget-friendly than booking a place directly in the crowded tourist hub.

Spacious Junior Twin Suite

I booked the Junior Twin Suite at the Novotel Suites Wien City Donau.
At around ~$115 per night, this hotel offers incredible value for travelers looking to stretch their budget in Vienna.

Even though the price is highly competitive, I was blown away by how spacious and clean the room was when I first walked in.

On one side of the room, there were two comfortable single twin beds. Each side had its own bedside table space and convenient power outlets for charging devices overnight.

Right opposite the beds was a spacious living area featuring a cozy sofa and a desk—perfect for relaxing, organizing gear, or catching up on work.
European hotel rooms are notoriously small, but this Vienna hotel offered plenty of room to stretch out.

The desk and chair setup made it super convenient to enjoy late-night snacks or plan out the next day's itinerary.

One of the coolest design details is the thick curtain partition. You can draw it to separate the sleeping area from the living area, giving the suite a multi-room feel.
This gives you a great idea of just how massive this suite actually is. There is more than enough floor space to fully open two large suitcases without tripping over them.

Another huge plus is that the toilet and the shower room are completely separate, which makes getting ready in the morning with a travel partner so much faster.

Right next to the restroom, there is a spacious wardrobe with hangers to keep your winter coats and jackets neatly organized.

To the right, you will find a capsule coffee machine, an electric kettle, and a mini-fridge directly underneath.
They provide a complimentary bottle of water, but fun fact: tap water in Austria is exceptionally clean, fresh, and perfectly safe to drink straight from the tap!

The main bathroom features a clean, bright white aesthetic, complete with a separate bathtub and shower setup.
Finding a room this clean, modern, and spacious at this price point in Europe is rare—I was thoroughly impressed!

An Incredible Breakfast Spread
Since dining out in Europe can add up quickly, fueling up with a hearty hotel breakfast is always a smart move.
I didn't have massive expectations, but this hotel turned out to be an absolute breakfast paradise!
If you book a stay at Novotel Suites Wien City Donau, I highly recommend adding the breakfast option to your booking.

While the dining area is cozy, the variety is impressive. They serve everything from fresh breads, pastries, and cereals to premium cheeses, cold cuts, and spreads.

A super unique detail was the jam station—they provide cute, edible waffle cups to hold your jam!
It cuts down on plastic waste and is incredibly fun to eat!

The yogurt bar was also fantastic, offering various toppings and fresh fruits to customize your bowl.
I changed up my breakfast combination every morning, but there were so many options I still couldn't try them all!

My favorite plate consisted of fluffy scrambled eggs, savory smoked salmon, and a bowl of cereal.
They also have a top-tier espresso machine that brews incredible coffee. Vienna truly lives up to its reputation as a coffee capital, even at the hotel breakfast bar!
If you are looking for a spacious, clean, and budget-friendly hotel with easy subway access to central Vienna, I highly recommend Novotel Suites Wien City Donau.
