How to Get to Moment Cafe and Restaurant
📍 Moment Cafe and Restaurant
Fasangasse 34/G2, 1030 Wien, Austria
📍 Belvedere Palace
Austria 1030 Vienna
Moment Cafe is conveniently located just a 10-minute walk from Belvedere Palace.
Instead of heading back towards Belvedere Lake,
I recommend taking a delightful stroll through the University of Vienna Botanical Garden on the right side of the palace gardens,
leading you towards the main road.

While the University of Vienna's Botanic Garden is free to enter,
it typically closes around 5 to 6 PM,
so make sure your visit aligns with its operating hours for passage.

This expansive garden boasts a rich variety of flowers and trees,
with beautifully laid out walking paths,
transforming your journey into an enchanting part of your overall travel experience.

While it might not be a direct path from Belvedere Palace to the main road,
the slight detour is only about a 10-minute walk,
making it a perfectly pleasant option, so I still highly recommend traveling on foot.

If you're traveling by car, you'll find street parking spaces available directly in front of the restaurant.
If there are no immediate spots,
keep an eye out for more parking spaces a little further down the street.

1. Ambiance and Seating

I checked Google Maps for the operating hours and thought it opened at 11:00 AM, so I arrived then. But when I saw the sign outside the restaurant, it actually opened at 11:30 AM!
Unexpectedly, I ended up doing an "open run"! While I was lingering outside, they kindly invited me in, and I was the very first customer. Turns out, I wasn't the only one waiting for it to open!

The interior is quite cozy, with tables for two to four people, and even single tables by the window. This makes it a great spot for solo dining, which I really appreciate!
What truly stood out was how exceptionally neat and clean the interior was – it would be perfect for families with children.
2. Menu and Prices

On the window at Moment, there was a small paper with the menu, and if you scan the QR code below, you can view the menu in Korean too!

Even after being shown to my seat, they provided a QR code menu like this.
While some of the automatic translations were a bit awkward, the explanations below them were quite helpful, so I had no trouble ordering.
Moment's top recommendation is definitely their Viennese Platter menu.
It seems that Schnitzel, Goulash, and Beef Shoulder are particularly popular.

Beyond that, they offer a variety of soups and salads, perfect if you're looking for a lighter meal, or as a delightful accompaniment to your Schnitzel.

If you've had your fill of Schnitzel and Goulash in Vienna, don't worry! They also have a diverse selection of main courses like steak, chicken, and fish to choose from.

True to its cafe & restaurant nature, they also offer delightful desserts and coffee, including Austria's famous Sacher Torte and a refreshing Einspänner. Be sure to try them!
What's more, the prices were very reasonable, around 13 to 15 Euros per person for a meal. It was great that adding a drink or dessert didn't feel like a burden at all!
3. My Review of the Dishes I Tried

Before visiting a restaurant, I usually check out the ratings and reviews on Google Maps.
I ordered the tomato soup and Caesar salad, which received great feedback in Google Maps reviews.
The soup was smooth and delicious, but I think it would taste even better on a chilly winter day, served warm like that.
The salad pairs wonderfully with Schnitzel, so definitely give it a try – even just a small size!

And then came the main event: the veal version of Schnitzel!
Last time at Centimeter, I tried the chicken version, but this time I went for the veal.
I swapped the potato salad side for French fries when I ordered.
To my taste, the French fries were absolutely delicious. And with the raspberry jam also served, I experienced the true Viennese Schnitzel combination: Schnitzel + potatoes + raspberry jam.
Personally, I think the raspberry jam was the real 'kick' that elevated the dish.
I truly enjoyed every bite!

We didn't order any drinks with our meal, opting instead for an Einspänner after dinner.
Honestly, the day before, I tried to go to Café Mozart, but the wait was just too long, so I ended up at McDonald's instead.
Before leaving Vienna, I really wanted to try a Viennese coffee, and luckily, Moment had Einspänner on the menu, so I gave it a shot.
And wow, it was even better than I expected!
This Einspänner was so good that I tried it at other places too, but personally, I found this one to be the most delicious.
Make sure to visit after exploring the Belvedere Palace and treat yourself to both a meal and dessert!
