Novotel Melbourne On Collins Review 2026: Prime CBD Location, Deluxe King Rooms
Discover Novotel Melbourne On Collins, a 4-star Accor hotel in the heart of Melbourne's CBD. Get our honest review of its prime location, Deluxe King Rooms, and amenities for your 2026 visit.

Located right in the heart of the Melbourne CBD on Collins Street,
the 4-star Accor property, Novotel Melbourne on Collins.
Here is my honest review after staying here twice—once during last Christmas and once again recently!
Since prices can vary quite a bit depending on the booking platform and the season,
if getting a lower price is more important to you than racking up Accor loyalty points,
I highly recommend comparing rates on these different booking sites instead of the official homepage! :)

Exterior & Surroundings

There are several Accor properties and Novotels in Melbourne,
but the one I stayed at is specifically the Novotel Melbourne On Collins!
Since it's right in the heart of Collins Street,
you can easily walk to all the major shopping hubs, Chinatown, amazing restaurants, and tram stops within the Melbourne CBD.
It's also the perfect spot for embarking on a Melbourne coffee tour!

Just across the river, the Crown Casino and its surrounding dining hub are well within walking distance as well.
For first-time visitors to Melbourne, or travelers who want shopping, dining, and entertainment all in one place,
this hotel offers an absolutely unbeatable location.
Hotel Lobby: 3rd Floor

To get to the lobby, you'll go past the Ground floor and the 2nd floor (which connects directly to the Collins street shopping center),
and head up to the 3rd floor lobby for check-in.

The 3rd-floor lobby is clean, bright, and modern!
During my first visit around Christmas, they had it decorated so cutely.
Check-in 2:00 PM
Check-out 11:00 AM

The lobby area has a very clean and contemporary vibe.
Like most hotels in Melbourne, it has a slightly early check-in and early check-out,
but being an Accor property, everything is run very systematically,
and despite some mixed reviews I'd seen, the staff were incredibly friendly!

There's also a bar & restaurant on the 3rd floor,
making it a great spot to enjoy a meal or a casual drink in a cozy atmosphere.
Since it's on the 3rd floor, it feels quite private and is mostly used by guests.

There are three guest elevators, which is plenty to keep wait times low.

The guest rooms are located from the 7th to the 14th floors,
and the pool and gym are located on the 7th floor!

I stayed on the 11th floor once, and on another trip, on the 7th floor (where the gym and pool are).
When I stayed on the 7th floor, there was a fair amount of noise from guests going to and from the 24-hour gym.
If you're sensitive to noise, you might want to consider asking for a different floor!~
Deluxe King Room

The room is classic Novotel style—clean, modern, and practical.
With a dedicated workspace, a sofa, and a small side table,
the room is so well-zoned that it feels surprisingly spacious!

The bed is super plush and comfy, absolutely perfect for a good night's sleep!
Just a heads-up, there's a bit of noise from the AC unit.

The Wi-Fi speed was impressively fast,
making it super easy to catch up on work or stream your favorite shows without any lag.

Since the TV is attached right next to the desk,
it might be a little tricky to work while keeping one eye on the screen.

Just like most hotels in Melbourne, complimentary bottled water is not provided.
Instead, ✅️coffee, tea, and fresh milk for your coffee are provided.
✅️Wine glasses, mugs, tumblers, and an electric kettle are also ready for use.

Inside the sliding-door closet, you'll find hangers, an iron, a safe, and extra bedding.
It's a spacious layout, so you'll have plenty of room to store even your largest suitcases without any hassle.

The Room View

If you get a City View room, you can enjoy the beautiful Melbourne cityscape,
but my first room had an atrium/interior view.

Let's call it... the "budget-friendly" view! haha
The Bathroom

The bathroom features a walk-in shower instead of a bathtub,
and the water pressure and temperature were great!
While it shows a bit of age, the vanity area was clean and well-organized.
Shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner by DEEP Nature are provided.

Extra towels, toilet paper, and a hairdryer are neatly tucked away on the shelves below.
Room Service

I ordered the shrimp pasta from room service for dinner,
and it was delivered surprisingly fast—and tasted pretty good too!
How much did it cost?
✔️Shrimp Pasta: $29
✔️Coca-Cola Classic: $5.50
✅️ Just keep in mind that a $4 tray service fee is added to your room service bill!
The Final Verdict

If you're looking for a reliable, well-located hotel in the Melbourne CBD,
Novotel Melbourne on Collins is an excellent choice!
Its unbeatable location makes getting around a breeze, whether you're here for sightseeing or business,
and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
✔️ Noise levels can vary depending on which floor or side of the hotel you're on,
so if you're a sensitive sleeper, it's a good idea to request a quiet room when booking!
