The brilliant architectural design allows plenty of natural light to flood the interior,
creating a deeply sacred and serene atmosphere.
Visitors typically explore in hushed reverence, with many lighting candles
near the altar to offer prayers, making it a truly peaceful experience.

▪️ Main Cathedral Entry: Free
▪️ Bell Towers & Treasury: Paid Entry

Get Your Paris Museum Pass Here
If you're planning to climb the iconic bell towers,
I highly recommend scheduling your visit on a day
when your Museum Pass is active.
When planning your itinerary, allocate about an hour
to fully explore the cathedral. *.*

While the main nave is completely free to enter,
the sights inside are priceless. The three magnificent rose windows
are breathtakingly beautiful, and the grand altar where mass is held,
along with the intricate statues of the Virgin Mary and Jesus,
make this an incredibly significant spiritual site.

Even though general admission is free,
the walk-in queues can get incredibly long!
👉 I opted to book my entry in advance online,
and it took me less than a minute to get inside.
I cannot stress enough how much time an advance reservation will save you.

Tours de la cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris - CMN
Unlike the main hall, bell tower reservations open 3 months in advance,
and on-site ticket purchases are not possible.
You absolutely must book online beforehand.
🌟 Good news: The tower booking site rarely requires a VPN! 🌟
1. Change the language to English and click on "Tickets."

2. Select the number of visitors and ticket type.

✅ The standard adult ticket is €16 (~$17 USD).
However, if you look at the section highlighted in red,
Museum Pass holders can book a time slot for €0.
If you have the pass,
make sure to select the "Paris Museum Pass" option!
3. Choose your desired date and time slot.

When I checked in mid-April,
tickets were available all the way through late June.
July hadn't opened up yet.
Since slots are available at least two months out, I highly recommend booking early.

To summarize: With a Paris Museum Pass, both the main hall
and the bell towers are completely free to enjoy! *.*
Even if you arrive bright and early, the walk-in lines are notoriously long,
so do yourself a favor and secure those advance reservations!
Yes — the main cathedral nave is free to enter. There is no entrance fee for general cathedral admission. Walk-in queues can be very long, however, so booking a free advance reservation through the official site (notredamedeparis.fr) is strongly recommended and takes less than a minute.
Main cathedral entry is free. The paid options are: Bell Towers — €16 (~$17 USD) and Treasury — €12 (~$13 USD). If you hold a Paris Museum Pass, Bell Tower entry is included at no extra cost.
You don't strictly need a paid ticket for the main nave — but you should reserve a free entry slot in advance. Without a reservation you'll queue with walk-ins, which can take well over an hour during peak hours. For the Bell Towers and Treasury, paid tickets are required and should be booked ahead because they cap daily visitor numbers.
Bell Tower tickets are €16 and can be booked through the official reservation system on notredamedeparis.fr. Tower slots open on a 3-day rolling window and sell out quickly. If you have a Paris Museum Pass, tower entry is included — schedule the climb on a day when your pass is active.
Yes — the Paris Museum Pass covers free Bell Tower entry at Notre-Dame. The main cathedral is already free for everyone, and the Treasury is not included in the Museum Pass (you'd still pay €12 separately for that).
The official site is notredamedeparis.fr. Watch for two common gotchas: (1) the booking system occasionally blocks non-European IPs — using a France-based VPN like TunnelBear fixes it; (2) after entering your visitor info, you'll see a donation prompt — this is optional and can be skipped.
The main nave of Notre-Dame Cathedral is located at 6 Parvis Notre-Dame Place Jean-Paul II on Île de la Cité in Paris. Operating hours are Monday-Friday from 7:50 AM to 7:00 PM, with extended hours until 10:00 PM on Thursdays. On weekends (Saturday-Sunday), it operates from 8:15 AM to 7:30 PM.
When making advance reservations for free entry to the main nave of Notre-Dame Cathedral from Korea, a VPN bypass is required. You need to use a VPN app like 'TunnelBear' to bypass to France to make a reservation without website errors. Reservations open at midnight (Paris time) two days before your desired visit date, which is 8:00 AM Korean time (7:00 AM during daylight saving time).
Yes, on-site purchase for visiting the Notre-Dame Cathedral bell towers is not possible; you must book in advance online. Reservations for the bell towers can be made up to three months in advance, and Museum Pass holders can enjoy free entry, saving the 16 euro admission fee.
Yes, advance reservations for free entry to the main nave of Notre-Dame Cathedral must be made through the official website https://www.notredamedeparis.fr/. On the other hand, reservations for visiting the bell towers must be made through a different official website, https://www.tours-notre-dame-de-paris.fr/.
