Let me introduce you to the Citadines Les Halles Paris hotel, where I stayed for my first 5 nights in the heart of the 1st arrondissement.

Accommodation is arguably the most crucial element of any trip, so I spent a lot of time deliberating. I was looking for an affordable place with easy access to attractions and the option for light cooking. That's why I chose Citadines Les Halles Paris, booking through MyRealTrip with a free cancellation option.

(Especially since dining out in Paris can be pricey, and I'd heard Parisian food isn't always mind-blowing, I planned to cook at least one meal a day in the room.)

It turns out a friend of mine had also stayed at the same hotel during their Paris trip and highly recommended it!

Citadines Paris Hotels: Pet-Friendly Options

France is a very dog-loving country, so it seems many hotels are pet-friendly. When booking, I simply noted 'with an 11-pound dog' in the 'additional booking information.' (There's an extra charge of 10 Euros per pet, per night.)

They even had notices in Korean, which made me wonder if many Korean travelers stay here. The check-in staff was friendly, and the hotel lobby was clean and pleasant!

A unique policy is that rooms are cleaned for stays of 6 nights or more. (Since we stayed 5 nights, we didn't get a mid-stay cleaning, but honestly, it was fine and meant more privacy.) If you needed extra towels or amenities, there was a 'comfort corner' where you could help yourself to as many as you needed.

The lobby also had a coffee machine, so we'd grab pastries from the bakery right outside and enjoy a simple breakfast with fresh coffee. The coffee was delicious, and I definitely recommend checking out that bakery! (You absolutely must try the freshly squeezed orange juice from La Parisienne – I tried orange juice at several places, and this one was truly the best!)

Studio Room, 1 Double Bed

I had booked a studio with a double bed, but when we checked in late, only twin rooms were available. The friendly staff member assured us they'd give us the quietest room left, which was thoughtful.

The room itself was clean and well-maintained. Since it's an aparthotel, our room had a fully equipped kitchen with dishes, pots, an induction cooktop, and a microwave. This was perfect for preparing simple meals multiple times during our stay.

The bathroom was also perfectly fine; the shower drained well, and there were no unpleasant odors.

Citadines Les Halles provides slippers, which is a nice touch (unlike Citadines Eiffel, which doesn't). I've seen many people pack their own hairdryers, but the one here worked perfectly, so I used it throughout my stay!

Being in the 1st arrondissement, the absolute heart of Paris, the Citadines Les Halles Paris boasts an unbeatable location!

First off, there are tons of restaurants, pubs, and bars right outside the hotel. While there's a large Monoprix supermarket just a 3-minute walk away, we often used the smaller market right next to the hotel for quick purchases like water or beer. The Monoprix closes at 9:50 PM, but this smaller market stays open until 11:30 PM, which was incredibly convenient. Plus, there's a K-MART, a Korean grocery store, within a 10-minute walk, where we even stocked up on some extra pre-cooked rice!

The hotel is also incredibly well-connected, with numerous RER and metro lines right outside, as well as plenty of bus routes, making it easy to get anywhere in the city. Major sights like the Louvre, the Seine River, Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Marais district are all within a 10-minute walk. I rarely used the metro here, opting for the bus occasionally, but mostly just walked everywhere!

Having the accommodation so close meant we could easily pop back to the hotel for a break between sightseeing, which made our itinerary much more comfortable and enjoyable.

I had read some reviews mentioning mice, and believe me, I'm absolutely not a fan of that! However, we made sure to double-bag and promptly dispose of any food waste from our room, and thankfully, we didn't encounter any issues. So, you probably don't need to worry too much about it!

The only real drawback, if any, is that accommodation in the 1st arrondissement itself tends to be pricier than other neighborhoods. Aside from that, I was extremely satisfied with this hotel overall!

I would absolutely stay here again on my next trip to Paris!
