Just like most tropical getaways in Southeast Asia, Bali is packed with live music venues. However, during my latest stroll through Ubud, I stumbled upon a spot with a completely different energy than your average acoustic cafe.

Looking for a unique Ubud live music experience?
Bali has no shortage of live music. While places like Bohol in the Philippines lean heavily into laid-back, nostalgic acoustic covers, Ubud's music scene feels a bit more eclectic and high-energy.
No Más Bar sets itself apart by focusing on Latin beats and classic rock, giving it a distinctive edge over standard acoustic bars.
The venue is split into two levels: the first floor serves as a restaurant (which I enjoyed on a previous visit), while the second floor houses the lively bar. Hearing great things about the upstairs atmosphere, I had to check it out myself—and it certainly didn't disappoint.
The vibe at No Más Bar: A different side of Bali
Given the energetic genres played here, this isn't the place for a quiet, intimate chat. It's loud, buzzing, and highly social.
At most live music venues, the tables closest to the stage fill up first. Here, however, the layout creates a unique dynamic.
Interestingly, the cozy back booths filled up first. Groups of friends preferred sitting further back to drink and chat, even if it meant raising their voices over the band.
As for the music, it can be a bit of a gamble depending on your personal taste. I came hoping for more of their signature Latin rhythms, but the setlist leaned heavily into rock during my visit.
It did make me want to finally take some Latin dance lessons, though—a travel goal I've put off for too long!
The highlight of the night was watching a kid dancing freely with their parents near the stage. It reminded me of how uninhibited we all are when we are young—singing and dancing without a care in the world before growing up makes us a bit more self-conscious. It added a really heartwarming, community vibe to the night.

The live band plays from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM. Since many places in Ubud close relatively early, its 1:00 AM closing time makes it an excellent option for late-night drinks.
For a casual dinner, I paired a local Kura Kura Island Pale Ale with their Ubud Fried Chicken.
The food arrived incredibly fast, making me wonder if it was pre-made, but one bite proved otherwise. It was freshly fried, piping hot, and perfectly seasoned with a savory, salty crunch that paired beautifully with the craft beer.

Monkey Forest Road is the main artery of Ubud's nightlife, with No Más situated toward the southern end. If you walk further north up the street, you'll find plenty of other great spots to keep the night going, including the highly popular Laughing Buddha Bar.
No Más Bar is open from 5:00 PM to 1:00 AM, which is relatively late for Ubud. Live music performances are held from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
The bar mainly plays Latin and rock music, creating an exciting and unique vibe. The music is loud, so it's an atmosphere where you need to raise your voice to talk rather than having a quiet conversation.
The Ubud Fried Chicken is prepared in advance and fried immediately upon order, so it is served very quickly. It has a salty seasoning, making it a perfect match to enjoy with a Kura Kura Island Pale Ale beer.
