Hey fellow travelers! If you're planning a solo trip to Tokyo and looking for the perfect base,
I highly recommend this budget-friendly capsule hotel!
It's the 'Nine Hours Hamamatsucho,' famous for its direct views of the iconic Tokyo Tower. *.*

I actually stumbled upon this capsule hotel featuring a Tokyo Tower view
a while ago and immediately bookmarked it.
Today, I'm sharing my honest, out-of-pocket review,
covering the location, pricing, and my personal experience!

📍 Nine Hours Hamamatsucho
1 Chome-25-10 Hamamatsucho, Minato City, Tokyo 105-0013, Japan

There are several Nine Hours branches scattered across Tokyo,
but the one I booked is specifically the capsule hotel near Tokyo Tower.
As someone who travels solo frequently,
there was absolutely no reason not to save this spot to my itinerary.

While planning my solo Tokyo adventure this time around,
Nine Hours Hamamatsucho was the very first accommodation I locked in.
Let's dive into the detailed review!
1. Nine Hours Hamamatsucho Pricing

For the Hamamatsucho branch,
I paid roughly ~$46 per night,
totaling ~$134 for a 3-night stay.
After comparing prices across various booking platforms like Agoda and others,
Agoda offered the most competitive rate.

2. How to Get to Nine Hours Hamamatsucho
📍 Nine Hours Hamamatsucho
1 Chome-25-10 Hamamatsucho, Minato City, Tokyo 105-0013, Japan
📍 Hamamatsucho Station
1 Chome Kaigan, Minato City, Tokyo 105-0022, Japan
📍 Daimon Station
1 Chome-27-12 Hamamatsucho, Minato City, Tokyo 105-0013, Japan
Although 'Hamamatsucho' is in the name
and it is close to Hamamatsucho Station,
if you're taking the subway, you should actually get off at Daimon Station.
From there, you just cross the street and you're basically there!
👉 Just a 3-minute walk from Daimon Station
C is Daimon, B is Hamamatsucho.
When you exit Daimon Station and cross the street, there's a FamilyMart right there.
Grabbing a drink from that FamilyMart
became my nightly routine at the end of each day! Haha.

▪️ Check-in is from 3:00 PM to 11:00 AM.
If you arrive before check-in time,
you can freely leave your luggage in the storage area on the left.

When it's time to check in,
✔️ You can check in directly with the staff, or
✔️ You can use the self check-in kiosks!
3. Floor Guide & Facilities

The Tokyo Nine Hours has completely separate female-only floors,
and even the elevators are segregated by gender.
After checking in, you use the QR code on your keycard to open the door,
which leads to the elevator and the 1st-floor shower rooms.
It feels very secure and thoroughly separated.
1st Floor: Shower Rooms
3rd, 6th, 9th Floors: Capsule Rooms
3rd Floor: Locker Room
10th Floor: Lounge
1st Floor Showers

The shower area was quite spacious, with sinks and hair dryers
readily available right outside the booths, making it easy to dry your hair right away.
Because there are plenty of shower booths,
I never had to wait in line to shower, regardless of how busy it was.
Capsule Room (6th Floor)
I stayed on the 6th floor!

I unluckily (?) got assigned a top bunk (2nd tier),
which was slightly inconvenient to climb into, but honestly not too bad.

It's a perfectly cozy space.
They change your bedding daily and provide fresh towels every single day!
When you come back from sightseeing the next day,
you'll find a fresh bag of towels waiting for you inside your capsule.

The great thing is that each floor has its own restrooms,
so late-night bathroom trips are super convenient.
10th Floor Lounge

Honestly, the 10th-floor lounge alone is reason enough to book this place.
You get an unobstructed, breathtaking view of Tokyo Tower.

No matter what time you visit, it's always buzzing with people. *.*
It's the perfect spot to enjoy a quick sandwich, onigiri (rice ball), or a drink.
On days I got back a bit early, I'd grab some snacks
and unwind up here while soaking in the view.

It's incredibly gorgeous during the day, too...
Basically, it's a 24-hour scenic lounge.

4. My Honest Review & Pro-Tips

The capsule room itself was better than expected.
It felt surprisingly spacious, and it came equipped with a USB port
and an outlet for your travel adapter.
However, the air conditioning was blasting, so it got a bit chilly. ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ
If you tend to get cold easily, definitely pack some long-sleeved pajamas
or keep a light jacket handy!

Above all else, Nine Hours Hamamatsucho
shines because of that stunning 10th-floor lounge!

I went up there morning and night, getting to see both the clear daytime views
and the glittering city lights. It was purely magical. *.*
If you head out to the left, there's an even higher observation deck,
but ⚠️ be super careful as it gets slippery when it rains! ⚠️
The one minor downside to Nine Hours Hamamatsucho
is that the locker room, sleeping pod, and shower room are all on different floors.
I knew this going in from reading other blogs,
but it was still a slight hassle.
So, let me share a massive pro-tip with you:

When you check in and open your locker, you'll find a mesh bag
containing your towels and pajamas. Use this bag to carry everything you need!
📢 Basically !!!!!
After Exploring (Shower Time) | Heading to Your Pod | Next Morning → Showers |
▪️ Change of clothes ▪️ Body lotion ▪️ Hair products | ▪️ Phone charger
| Go to the locker room for: ▪️ Outfit of the day ▪️ Makeup ▪️ Sunscreen ▪️ Hair styling tools |
Since I washed my hair the night before and prepped my bangs with a curler, when heading to my pod after my shower, I packed my outfit for tomorrow + charger + toiletries + lotion + sunscreen + makeup into the bag and took it straight to my room! |

Because there are restrooms right by the capsule rooms,
simple tasks like brushing your teeth, changing clothes,
applying sunscreen, and doing your makeup can all be done right there.

📢 TL;DR: Put everything you need into the towel bag and carry it with you.

Oh, and the locker space is a bit narrow,
so I found it easiest to leave my suitcase open inside the locker
to maximize the space! Hahaha.
Since you constantly need to grab things out of your bag,
this method turned out to be way more convenient.

Despite the minor quirks, the lounge view alone made everything worth it!
It's incredibly affordable, and for someone like me who spends most of the day exploring
and only needs a clean place to crash, it was absolutely perfect. *.*
