Nha Trang JJ Seafood Review 2026: Family-Friendly Crayfish Feast

During our Nha Trang trip, we decided to dive into the city's renowned seafood scene for dinner with our toddler. Even though I'm not usually a huge seafood fan, everyone says you HAVE to try the fresh catches in Nha Trang. So, we ventured to JJ Seafood and indulged in some delicious crayfish, which is quite similar to lobster!

JJ Seafood is conveniently located right in the heart of Nha Trang (sometimes spelled Nhatrang). There are so many seafood restaurants around, we didn't have a specific one in mind, but the vibrant atmosphere and the prominent yellow JJ Seafood sign caught our eye, so we decided to step inside.

It was already bustling with people at the entrance when we arrived for dinner, a clear sign of its popularity.

02. Live Tanks: From Crayfish to Crabs

Right by the entrance, a long line of tanks showcased an impressive array of live seafood. They were neatly organized by type and size, with prices listed per kilogram. It looked like you could pick your own seafood, but we simply placed our order, and they brought out our selections. Easy!

03. Restaurant Vibe & Ambiance

Stepping inside, we were greeted by a spacious, high-ceilinged dining hall. I always prefer bright and clean restaurants over dimly lit ones, so I was pleased with the well-lit and tidy interior here.

The hall features large open windows, giving it an airy, open-concept feel. While it wasn't a heavily air-conditioned indoor space, numerous fans were strategically placed throughout, keeping the air circulating and ensuring a comfortable dining experience despite the tropical heat.

Despite the crowd, there were plenty of staff members in their distinctive blue uniforms, making them easy to spot. Their quick and efficient service was definitely a plus!

05. The Flavorful Experience

Crayfish with Garlic Sauce

Our crayfish arrived split in half, generously topped with a mound of crispy fried garlic. The combination of sweet and savory with that garlic kick was absolutely delightful. It wasn't overly greasy; instead, it offered a rich and aromatic flavor that was truly satisfying.

Egg Fried Rice

This vibrant yellow fried rice, garnished with more fried garlic and chopped green onions, was ordered with our little one in mind. However, it turned out to be a fantastic accompaniment for the adults too, especially with the garlic-infused crayfish. It just hit the spot!

​Stir-fried Morning Glory with Garlic

No trip to Vietnam is complete without a serving of stir-fried morning glory. With the seafood, rice, and this vibrant green vegetable dish on the table, our meal was a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. The generous amount of garlic in this dish was exactly to my liking!

Spicy Tiger Prawn Ramen

I usually find Shin Ramyun spicy, so I wasn't sure what to expect from ramen abroad. But this one definitely packed a delightful punch! And of course, you can't end a meal without some carbs, right? After the rice, a comforting bowl of noodles with a savory broth was the perfect finale.

Saigon Beer

We ordered both Saigon Lager (bottle) and Saigon Chill (can). They came with glass mugs, perfect for pouring and enjoying a refreshing cold brew.

06. Family-Friendly Visit & Final Thoughts

Dining here with our little one was surprisingly comfortable, thanks to the restaurant's expansive and open layout. It allowed us to enjoy our meal without feeling cramped.

Just be aware that as an open-air establishment, you shouldn't expect powerful air conditioning. While the fans kept things cool enough, it's not a chilled indoor environment. Also, compared to some other dining options in Nha Trang, the prices here are a bit on the higher side, especially if you go for premium seafood like crayfish.

Overall, I'd recommend JJ Seafood to anyone looking for a lively and authentic Nha Trang seafood experience in the city center, especially if you're traveling with kids and prefer a vibrant atmosphere over a super-cool indoor space.
