2. From Pickup to Detailed Itinerary: My Review
The entire experience, from hotel pickup to drop-off, spans approximately 4 hours.

① Pickup Service
After booking, KKday reached out to me via KakaoTalk
to confirm details and provide pickup and drop-off instructions.
They communicated in English, so I used a translator to respond.
I was planning to get a massage in Nha Trang city before heading to the cruise,
so I requested pickup directly from the massage shop.

② Arriving at the Pier
After a few other pickups along the way, it took about 15 minutes to reach the pier,
where a friendly staff member checked our reservation names
and guided us smoothly to board.

③ Transferring from a Smaller Boat to the Main Cruise Ship
From the pier, we hopped onto a smaller transfer boat
and were whisked away to the impressive main cruise ship.
The quick transfer took only about 3-5 minutes.
The staff were waving their hands enthusiastically from a distance,
giving us such a warm and adorable welcome!
While the transfer car and small boat might be a bit modest,
the moment you step onto the main cruise, the atmosphere completely transforms.

④ Seating Arrangement
Upon boarding the main ship, a staff member will guide you to your table.
We were seated at a table for four.
The tables aren't incredibly spacious,
so expect to share a side of the table with other guests.

Instead of choosing our own seats,
we simply took the seats where the staff member guided us.
Our table was right next to a panoramic window,
offering fantastic views of the outside with cozy, warm lighting.

⑤ Welcome Drink & Crew Introduction
We were greeted with a tangy mixed fruit welcome tea, and at the same time,
they kindly inquired about our preferred meat doneness and any dietary restrictions,
plus checked if anyone was prone to seasickness.

When I mentioned I get seasick,
they thoughtfully provided warm ginger tea and motion sickness medication.

Next, there was an introduction to the cruise crew and the day's itinerary.
And guess what? They even had a staff member specifically assigned to assist Korean guests,
who re-explained details like smoking areas and any other important information.

⑥ Exploring the Cruise Ship
Before heading up to the very top deck, I took a little tour around the cruise ship.
It has three floors in total, and you'll find a bar on each level – the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floors.
It seems like they open the 2nd-floor bar when there's a bigger crowd.

The restrooms were also impeccably clean and well-maintained.
There are two restrooms in total for each gender, one on the 1st floor and one on the 2nd.

⑦ Finger Food, Unlimited Drinks, and Live Music
On the top deck, you can simply grab any seat you like.
Perhaps it's the charming streetlights, but the ambiance up here is absolutely lovely.

A variety of delicious finger foods were laid out for us.
They were perfect for munching on with drinks
before the main dinner course arrived.
Just a heads-up, the portions aren't exactly generous,
so think of them more as appetizers or a pre-dinner snack.

The drinks are unlimited, so I happily indulged in some wine!
As soon as your glass gets low, the staff are right there to top you up.

Things get even more exciting once the live music starts,
with violin and guitar performances right on board!
You can enjoy the music up close even while dining,
so there's no need to cling to a front-row seat on the 3rd floor.

⑧ Night Views Towards VinWonders
Until dinner, it's free time to explore and enjoy.
It got dark quickly, so I soaked in the stunning night views of VinWonders.
I explored both the open deck and enjoyed the scenery from the 3rd floor.

It was the rainy season when I visited, so the sunset wasn't as vibrant,
but instead, after the sun dipped below the horizon,
the night view stretching towards VinWonders was utterly captivating!
My friend and I spent a lot of time on the deck, feeling the breeze
and taking countless photos – it was truly a highlight!
This tour is quite popular with Western visitors, even more so than Koreans,
so it tends to book up quickly!

⑨ Dinner (Course by Course)
Soon, it was time for dinner,
and a staff member guided us to our table.
Even from our seats, we could still admire the dazzling night views outside the window.
Each table was lit with a charming candle, setting a wonderfully romantic atmosphere
I highly recommend it, as I think it's truly wonderful!

The live performers who usually play on the 3rd floor
even came down to the 1st floor to accompany our meal!
Garlic Bread and Chicken Soup

We started with garlic bread, followed by chicken soup.
It was sweet and warm, going down smoothly without any heaviness,
and there was absolutely no gamey smell from the meat.
(Oops, I confess I took a bite of the garlic bread before snapping the photo...)

With shrimp, carrots, and mushrooms, and a wonderfully thick consistency,
it felt a bit like Ulmyeon, and with the finely shredded meat,
it resembled a Vietnamese-style Samgyetang.

Whenever our drinks ran low, the staff would circulate
and keep refilling them – I think I had about 6 or 7 glasses!
Scallop Dish

It was served with sweet chili sauce.
Instead of whole scallop meat, it was prepared as a scallop ball
and presented beautifully on the shell, giving it a taste similar to fish cake.
Vietnamese Spring Rolls

Wrapped with shrimp, chicken, rice noodles, cucumber, and lettuce,
we dipped them in peanut sauce.
The taste was quite pleasant and straightforward.
Lobster

Dipping it in Nuoc Mam (fish sauce) made it even more delicious!
It wasn't dry at all and had a rich, deep flavor.
The accompanying salad was light and refreshing, and the carbonara,
while rich, had a wonderfully substantial buttery flavor,
and the pasta was perfectly al dente.
Beef Steak

I ordered it medium,
but it came out a bit more well-done than I expected.
I'd recommend ordering it medium-rare for the perfect bite!

The sauce was a rich steak sauce with strong notes of pepper and butter,
and the accompanying potatoes were
creamy, soft, and delightfully sweet.
Dessert

It was a pudding topped with mango and orange mousse.
A perfectly refreshing and zesty way to conclude the meal!
As a bonus tip, if you inform the establishment in advance about an anniversary or birthday,
they also put on special events like this!
Something for couples and families to keep in mind, explorers!

⑩ Return to Pier by Transfer Boat
Shortly after finishing our delightful meal,
we took the transfer boat back to the pier.
Upon disembarking, the staff saw us off,
and we exchanged many warm goodbyes.

⑪ Hotel Drop-off
The itinerary showed a finish time of 8 PM,
and indeed, it ended around 8 PM,
with us being dropped off in front of our hotel at 8:20 PM.

4. Things to Consider Before Booking
Before booking, I also had questions,
and I'll answer the most frequently asked ones from reviews,
based on my own experience.
Question | Answer |
Will I miss the sunset if I go during the rainy season? | I did. Since it was the rainy season in October, the sunset hid behind the clouds. However, the night view towards VinWonders after sunset was spectacular, so my disappointment wasn't too great. Other reviews also mentioned missing the sunset, so if seeing the sunset is a must for you, it's safer to go during a period with stable weather. |
Is the food quantity sufficient? | It starts with finger foods, followed by garlic bread, soup, scallops, Vietnamese spring rolls, a main course, and dessert. Some reviews mentioned the quantity of finger foods was a bit disappointing, but for me, after the full course, it was perfectly fine. Since alcoholic drinks are unlimited, along with other beverages, I was quite full. |
Is seasickness an issue? | You'll travel about 3 minutes by a small boat from the pier to the main vessel. Many reviews said the main vessel, being a large ship, had little sway, and I only felt slightly seasick myself. When I mentioned my concern about seasickness, they kindly provided seasickness medicine, water, and ginger tea. For those who are severely prone to seasickness, it would be wise to take your medication beforehand. |
How are seats assigned? | Upon boarding the main vessel, a staff member will guide you to your seat. We had a table for four, and it was arranged so we sat alongside another party. Some reviews mentioned that the tables weren't very large, making it difficult for just one group to occupy a whole table. So, think of it more as following the assigned seating rather than choosing your preferred spot. |
Do I have to communicate only in English? | After booking, I received English instructions via KakaoTalk from KKday. Menu selections were also communicated in English, but a translation app was sufficient, so it wasn't difficult at all. The servers spoke multiple languages, so on-site communication was also quite easy. KKDAY offers Korean service, but if Korean consultation is absolutely necessary, Peak Time, as mentioned above, might be more convenient. |
Who is this best for? | I went with a friend, and it was perfect for taking photos and chatting together. There were also people who brought their parents on my cruise, and they absolutely loved it. I imagine it would be wonderful for couples too. |
Can I cancel if my plans change? | KKday does not allow cancellations, but Peak Time offers 100% refunds up to 6 PM two days before the usage date. If your schedule is uncertain, make sure to check the cancellation conditions before choosing. |
When is the best time to book? | If you have more than 20 days until your travel date, you can choose a cheaper option on KKday. The detailed method was explained in section 3 above. Popular dates sometimes sell out 1-2 weeks in advance, so if your itinerary is set, it's best to book early for peace of mind. |
5. Concluding My Cruise Experience
Even though I went during the rainy season, it was absolutely wonderful,
and I imagine it would be even better during the dry season!
I definitely want to come back with family or a loved one
for a special anniversary in the future!
If you're looking for a special evening in Nha Trang,
I highly recommend the Emperor Sunset Dinner Cruise Tour.
