If you're planning a trip to Nha Trang and want to experience authentic Vietnamese home cooking, Chuon Chuon Kim is a must-visit! Make sure you read this guide to secure a comfy air-conditioned spot on the 3rd floor and unlock some sweet discounts. On my last visit, I indulged in four fantastic dishes: Vietnamese-style braised ribs, sautéed morning glory, garlic butter shrimp, and fresh spring rolls.

Nestled right in the heart of Nha Trang city, Chuon Chuon Kim is incredibly easy to find – just a quick 4-minute walk from Lotte Mart Gold Coast. This prime location makes it super convenient to combine your meal with a shopping spree at Lotte Mart or a browse through Dam Market. I personally loved the itinerary of hitting Lotte Mart, enjoying a delicious meal at Chuon Chuon Kim, and then exploring the bustling Dam Market!

The restaurant itself exudes an authentic Vietnamese charm, with vibrant and clean interiors spread across three floors. Be aware that the first floor is open-air and doesn't have air conditioning, so it can get quite warm.

For the most comfortable dining experience, I highly recommend booking ahead and specifically requesting a table on the air-conditioned 3rd floor.

As a true Vietnamese home-style restaurant, Chuon Chuon Kim boasts an incredibly diverse menu. And for international visitors, you'll be happy to know they offer an English menu, making ordering a breeze!

While prices might have slightly adjusted since my visit, the value is still fantastic.

I opted for their Vietnamese-style braised ribs, morning glory, garlic butter shrimp, and fresh spring rolls – a perfect spread!

A true star, the Vietnamese-style braised ribs perfectly complemented the generous, complimentary rice. This dish features tender meat simmered in a delightfully sweet and savory sauce – a flavor profile that feels both exotic and comforting. While the seasoning can be quite robust, it pairs beautifully with the plain rice, balancing each bite. It definitely held its own as the main event among my selections, and trust me, they don't skimp on the rice – it felt like an endless supply!🤣

Garlic Butter Shrimp

The garlic butter shrimp was an absolute winner, especially when paired with a cold canned beer. The aromatic garlic and rich butter coating plump shrimp created a perfectly balanced flavor – a welcome contrast to the slightly stronger taste of the braised ribs. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite.

Fresh Shrimp and Pork Spring Rolls (Gỏi Cuốn)

These shrimp and pork spring rolls were a fantastic light addition between the richer main courses. While the menu listed them as 'spring rolls,' they're actually more akin to fresh Vietnamese summer rolls (Gỏi cuốn) rather than the crispy, fried variety you might typically imagine. Bursting with fresh vegetables and succulent shrimp, they were incredibly refreshing and tasted amazing with the accompanying dipping sauce.

Sautéed Morning Glory

Morning Glory, or stir-fried water spinach, is an absolute staple in Vietnam, and for good reason! It's a deliciously simple yet incredibly flavorful side dish that complements almost any meal. It's so tasty and affordable that I found myself ordering it repeatedly throughout my trip!
