Nha Trang Weather
Summer vacation season is officially here! While destinations like Phu Quoc and Da Lat have been trending lately, Nha Trang remains the undisputed champion of coastal getaways in Vietnam.
If you are packing your bags and wondering what to wear, this guide will break down exactly what to expect from the weather.
Generally, Vietnam features a tropical climate that is hot and humid. Because Nha Trang is right on the coast, the humidity can feel a bit more pronounced. But here is the great news: if you are planning a summer trip, you are visiting during the dry season!

Nha Trang Wet vs. Dry Season

To start, the official wet season in Nha Trang runs from October through December. This means July and August are right in the sweet spot of the dry season. Having visited many times, even if you happen to experience a rainy day, it is nothing to worry about. Rain during this time usually comes in the form of quick, passing tropical squalls rather than all-day downpours.
It rarely gets in the way of your travel plans.
Of course, if you do get caught in a longer shower, it is the perfect excuse to book a relaxing spa massage or enjoy a lazy afternoon at a local cafe.
It is nothing like the endless monsoon rains you might expect elsewhere.
Nha Trang Weather in July

In July, temperatures typically hover between 72°F and 93°F. Because of the humidity, the real-feel temperature can climb a bit higher. Since it is the dry season, rainy days are few and far between. Honestly, an occasional quick shower is actually quite nice—it cools down the afternoon heat and leaves the air feeling fresh and clear.
Nha Trang Weather in August

August weather is very similar to July, with temperatures staying consistently warm. Running around under the intense midday sun can be exhausting, but you do not want to miss out on the day by staying indoors until sunset.
While weather forecasts might show a few scattered showers in early August, the skies are generally clear and sunny from mid-month onward.

The secret is timing. Heading out in the late afternoon as the sun starts to dip makes exploring much more comfortable. During the peak heat of the day, take it easy in an air-conditioned cafe or book a spa session.
Even if it feels incredibly hot at first, you will find yourself acclimating to the tropical climate after a couple of days. However, a quick tip: if you take a side trip up to the high-altitude town of Da Lat, your heat tolerance might reset. Da Lat is wonderfully cool and breezy, so returning to the coastal humidity of Nha Trang afterward can feel like a warm wave hitting you all over again!
But overall, you will get used to it quickly and enjoy the beach vibes.
With July and August falling squarely within the dry season, you can book your flights and plan your itinerary with peace of mind. Have an amazing trip!

Nha Trang's rainy season is from October to December, so July and August fall under the dry season. Temperatures in July range from approximately 22 to 34 degrees Celsius with almost no rain. In August, there is a slight chance of rain early in the month, but it rarely rains from mid-August onwards.
Because Da Lat is located at a high altitude and has a relatively cool climate, visiting there resets your body's adaptation to the heat of Nha Trang. As a result, the hot and humid wind may feel noticeably stronger when you return to Nha Trang.
