Just like many other Southeast Asian destinations, Nha Trang is known for being hot and humid. But honestly, considering temperatures in many parts of the world these days, you might not feel a huge difference.

In fact, I often find it more pleasant there, especially when you're on vacation with the beautiful ocean right at your fingertips!

I’ve captured photos from my own trip to Nha Trang, showcasing what it looks like on a clear day, an overcast day, and when it's raining. As you can see, the weather can vary!

Even with the high humidity and heat, if you're coming from a hot climate, you might not feel a drastic change – though the humidity can definitely be noticeable!

Typically, Nha Trang's wet season runs from October to December, while the dry season is from January to September. This means if you're planning a trip for August or September 2026, you're in for some great weather!

However, it's worth noting that weather patterns can be unpredictable. When I visited last November (in 2025), which is technically the wet season, it only rained once during my entire week-long stay. Even then, it was just a quick tropical downpour, so it didn't really impact my plans much.

August in Nha Trang generally falls within the dry season, so according to current forecasts, you can expect mostly sunny days with perhaps only a couple of days of rain. But dry season doesn't mean cool! It can still get pretty hot, even without much rain.

It's so hot, even the local dogs are looking for shade! While it's tempting to stay indoors until nightfall, I just can't resist exploring during the day, even if it means sweating a bit. I always find myself out and about, soaking up the atmosphere.

On my most recent trip, I was with some companions on a sort of 'workation.' They mostly worked in the afternoons and we'd meet up in the evenings. We'd have lunch together, but everyone else would stay at the hotel during the day. Meanwhile, I was constantly out exploring, so their first message to me around lunchtime was always, "Are you out already?" or "Where are you?" It became a running joke!

September in Nha Trang sees a slight increase in rainfall compared to August, but temperatures generally remain consistent. You'll still experience that warm, tropical vibe.

This is typically around the time the sun starts to set. It's a fantastic time to head out, or if you wait a little longer, it gets even more comfortable.

Of course, if you prefer to avoid the heat entirely, you can stick to indoor activities or rely on GrabCar. I personally love zipping around on a GrabBike, which offers a great breeze!

I've also noticed I'm getting quite a tan, so I've started bringing a light long-sleeved shirt to wear, just like the locals do, to protect myself from the sun.

See? Just like this! (This photo is actually from Ho Chi Minh City, but the style is similar). You'll rarely see locals in short sleeves; everyone covers up to shield themselves from the sun.

I enjoy walking, so I tend to explore more on foot in the evenings. It's manageable, but you'll still work up a sweat! Short strolls are definitely enjoyable.

After a few days, you really get used to the Nha Trang weather. But then, I took a quick trip to Da Lat (which has a cooler climate). The moment I stepped out of the car back in Nha Trang, it hit me! That rush of hot, humid air wrapping around me – it was a stark reminder of what I'd grown accustomed to. I'd almost forgotten!
