Chuc Chip, Fruit Stall, and the Best Spots to Visit at Night

Nha Trang, Vietnam, is a budget-friendly foodie paradise.

It's so amazing that I make sure to visit

once or twice every single year!

During the dry season, the daytime heat can be quite intense,

making evening strolls the perfect way to cool down.

Exploring the city at night has a charm of its own!

Since it's a relatively compact city,

you can easily enjoy a variety of delicious snacks

and explore downtown Nha Trang

either on foot or with a quick Grab ride.

I'm excited to share a cozy night-walk itinerary

for your Nha Trang trip.

We'll grab seasoned sweet potato fries at Chuc Chip near Xom Moi Market,

stop by the famous Fruit Stall No. 65, try some local banh mi,

and wrap it up with a scenic stroll along Nha Trang Beach

to soak in those perfect resort-town vibes.

1. Chuc Chip Sweet Potato Fries: The Definition of Crispy on the Outside, Soft on the Inside

Chuc Chip is located right next to the famous Kim Chung and Kim Vinh gold shops,

which are popular starting points for any downtown Nha Trang tour.

Many travelers used to stop by to grab a quick bite

while waiting to exchange currency.

However, with the Vietnamese government tightening crackdowns

on unauthorized foreign exchange transactions since early 2026,

these unlicensed shops have seen fewer visitors.

Consequently, the once-bustling sweet potato fry joint

has become a lot quieter as well.

They used to hand out numbered waiting tickets...

But when I visited the other evening, I was able to order

immediately without any wait at all.

There are four delicious flavors to choose from.

Large: 20,000 VND (~$0.80)

Medium: 17,000 VND (~$0.70)

Small: 12,000 VND (~$0.50)

They come in three sizes, and the prices

have recently gone up just a tiny bit.

Since there are so many amazing things to eat in Vietnam

and sweet potatoes can be quite filling,

ordering a Small to share between two people

was just the perfect amount for a quick taste.

They are at their absolute crispiest and most delicious

right out of the fryer!

Instead of taking them to go, I highly recommend

finding a spot nearby to enjoy them hot on the spot.

This is one of my absolute favorite snacks,

so I always make sure to grab some whenever I visit Vietnam.

Personally, I love the flavor seasoned with

salted dried apricot powder—it adds a delightfully tangy twist.

They would make an amazing pairing with a cold beer!

Just be careful when you take your first bite—the inside is hot like lava!

2. Fruit Stall No. 65

It would be a bit of a waste to go all the way to Chợt Chíp

just for a single quick snack, so I highly recommend

pairing your visit with a stop at a famous nearby

Vietnamese fruit stall: Fruit Stall No. 65

at Xom Moi Market.

Located right in the bustling local heart of Xom Moi Market,

where you can soak up that vibrant Southeast Asian atmosphere,

this is a legendary spot that always has a waiting line.

They only accept cash,

and the stall right next door, Fruit Stall 65B, is also super popular.

Personally, I just head to whichever of the two has the shorter line!

When I visited, a 1kg pack of pre-sliced apple mangoes

was only about 60,000 VND.

Normally, these fruits can be quite pricey and hard to enjoy often back home,

but here you can easily feast on apple, yellow, and green mangoes,

as well as jackfruit, custard apples, and papayas,

all at incredibly budget-friendly prices.

If you go to look around, they even let you sample different varieties

of mangoes, so you can choose exactly what suits your taste.

They slice and pack them up so cleanly,

making it incredibly easy and convenient to eat back at your hotel.

Lately, when traveling to Nha Trang,

many hotels have strictly banned durian

from their premises due to its strong smell.

Because of this, you'll find several spots around Xom Moi Market

where you can buy durian and sit on those tiny plastic stool-and-table sets

to enjoy it right then and there.

That's why we always make sure to include a quick durian stop

on our Nha Trang night itineraries.

Recently, a lot of hotels in Vietnam also ban mangosteens,

so I highly recommend

heading out in the cool evening breeze to enjoy durian

along with some sweet mangosteens outdoors

before heading back to your room.

3. Nha Trang Beach

After filling up on all kinds of delicious snacks,

our night tour was already feeling incredibly complete.

We had a bowl of local pho in the ~$2 range,

and paired it with a local banh mi in the ~$1 range.

We were so stuffed that we decided to walk to nearby Nha Trang Beach

while chatting with the family,

continuing our atmospheric evening stroll

through beautiful Nha Trang.

The long rows of palm trees planted along the coastline

create such an exotic, tropical landscape.

In the evening, lively pubs pop up here and there,

alongside massive seafood restaurants buzzing with great vibes,

and a small but charming night market also opens up.

It's the absolute perfect spot to escape the blazing daytime heat,

finish up your evening Nha Trang city tour,

and walk off all that delicious food.

The park and pedestrian walkways along the beach are beautifully maintained,

and you'll also find Nha Trang's iconic landmark tower,

which makes for a fantastic backdrop to snap some commemorative photos.

It's an essential stop on any Nha Trang itinerary

and one of the best places to visit at night.

4. Wrapping Up Our Nha Trang Night Stroll
