Quan Oc Ngon Nha Trang: Authentic Local Seafood in the City Center
Searching for incredible, authentic seafood in Nha Trang? Quan Oc Ngon is a local favorite offering fantastic flavors and unbeatable value right in the city center. Don't miss this hidden gem!
During my trip to Nha Trang, I discovered the ultimate budget-friendly seafood spot: Quan Oc Ngon.

Nha Trang, a stunning coastal city in Vietnam, is famous for its incredibly affordable prices, especially when it comes to seafood. What might be a splurge back home, you can enjoy here without breaking the bank.
However, many places that cater specifically to tourists often have slightly higher prices than true local spots. Sometimes, they lose that authentic Vietnamese charm, feeling a bit too 'commercialized' for my taste.

That's why I'm thrilled to share a hidden gem, recommended by a local friend, where actual Vietnamese residents go! This spot offers amazing value and an authentic local vibe that's hard to beat.
📍 Quán Ốc Ngon1. Location
34/2/15 Nguyễn Thiện Thuật, Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa 650000 Vietnam
Quan Oc Ngon is conveniently located right in Nha Trang's city center.
While it's not right on the busiest street, it's just a 4-minute walk from the bustling night market and within a 10-minute stroll from many downtown accommodations. This makes it super easy to reach, even if you're traveling with family or older companions.

Nha Trang's heat can be intense, so I actually forgot to snap a picture of the restaurant's exterior!

The sign isn't huge, and the exterior can be a little confusing, so I definitely had that 'is this the right place?' moment when I first walked in. But once inside, you quickly get the feeling you've found the spot.
If you want to be sure before heading in, I've included a picture of the menu below. You can always show that picture to someone at the entrance and ask if it's the right place!
The owner is usually sitting out front, so you can easily ask them.
2. Hours & Menu

Quan Oc Ngon is open daily from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
It's perfect for a late breakfast or lunch, and even better for a relaxed dinner with a cold beer.
Like a true local seafood spot, they offer both outdoor, street-side seating and comfortable indoor tables.
The indoor area even has a second floor, and the cooking area is separate from the dining space, allowing them to accommodate plenty of guests.

Most menu items average between 40,000-60,000 VND, which is roughly ~$2-3 USD. This makes it incredibly easy to order a variety of dishes without worrying about the bill. Plus, seeing so many locals dining there really adds to the authentic experience!
When I travel, these are exactly the kind of places I seek out!
It's slowly gaining popularity with international visitors, so I highly recommend checking it out before it becomes too crowded!
3. My Dining Experience

I'll walk you through my order, with the menu item descriptions above and the actual dishes I received below.
On my first visit, I wasn't sure what to expect, so I just picked a few things that looked delicious – and I was not disappointed! Everything was incredibly tasty.

This was a charcoal-grilled pork dish, with a flavor reminiscent of BBQ ribs.
While it's not a must-try 'Vietnamese' dish per se, who can resist the deliciousness of grilled pork?
It paired perfectly with a cold beer.

A great advantage here is that most dishes can be ordered with different preparations: grilled with scallions, grilled with cheese, grilled with egg, or grilled with garlic butter. This offers a wide range of choices!
Personally, the garlic butter preparation was my absolute favorite!

If you order the fried rice, they'll bring out a Vietnamese signature chili soy sauce. It's incredibly addictive and pairs perfectly with the meal!

And let me tell you, finding razor clams isn't common everywhere, so being able to eat them to my heart's content in Vietnam was incredibly satisfying!
Even better, each plate was only about ~$2 USD, allowing us to feast on a variety of dishes without breaking the bank.

This incredibly affordable and delicious local spot left such an impression that I had to visit again on my last day in Nha Trang!

This time, I ordered a variety of other tempting and affordable seafood dishes.

I also decided to splurge a bit and ordered the butter-grilled crayfish (often referred to as Vietnamese lobster). The portion was incredibly generous!
Even locally, crayfish is considered a premium item, costing about ~$6 USD per 100g. A portion this size came out to about ~$37 USD. But honestly, when you consider how much this would cost in the States, it's an absolute steal and a definite must-try!
And yes, it tasted as luxurious as it sounds!
Overall Review

If you're looking to enjoy fantastic, affordable seafood in Vietnam, experiencing a true local atmosphere like the residents do, Quan Oc Ngon will absolutely delight you.
While you might not find the same level of English communication or service as places primarily catering to tourists, the staff here made a genuine effort. They spoke slowly and even used a translation app to help us order, which was truly appreciated.
The quick service and friendly demeanor were definitely reasons I decided to visit a second time!
For any seafood lovers heading to Vietnam, I wholeheartedly recommend adding Quan Oc Ngon to your itinerary!
