If you're looking for a place that truly captures the essence of a travel destination, a local market is always a top pick. That's why I'm bringing you an insider's look at the Nha Trang Night Market.
Conveniently located right by the beach, it's surprisingly accessible. You can easily pop in while strolling along the waterfront.

According to Google Maps, the market typically operates from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. As a night market, it naturally opens in the evening, but it does close earlier than you might expect.
I visited twice during my trip. The first time was around 8:00 PM, and my second visit was closer to 9:40 PM. On that later visit, I noticed quite a few stalls had already packed up for the night.

The market boasts two main entrances: one on the beach side (to your right) and another on the city side (to your left).
The beach-side entrance is conveniently located near the iconic Tram Huong Tower.
Below, you can see what it looks like when entering from the city side.

The area highlighted in green on the map (opposite the entrance) is bustling with spas and various other shops, stretching out along the street.

Just like this! I marked it because the atmosphere there is quite vibrant and colorful.

This is generally the vibe you'll find. You'll often see foreign visitors haggling over prices. Because of this, it doesn't always feel like you're getting super budget-friendly deals.

You'll find everything from charming rattan bags to delicious dried mangoes, nuts, accessories, and even cute slippers. There are also several spots to grab a bite to eat in the middle of the market.

And then there's this at the entrance of the Nha Trang Night Market...
Even if you weren't planning on it, the mesmerizing hand movements of the vendor will surely tempt you to try one of these rolled ice creams! Haha.

I figured it must be a milk-based dessert, so the combination I really wanted was cheese + Oreo. But since it was called 'fruit rolled ice cream,' I felt compelled to try a fruit combination. So, I went with mango + coconut, and my initial gut feeling was right!

It tasted good, but the flavors didn't really blend; they just sort of existed separately. Haha.
The reason I went back a second time was because I was so bummed I didn't get my cheese + Oreo combo! But I arrived too late, and the vendor had already packed up. Ugh.
So, I went to another stall across the way, but they didn't have that combination either... Argh!

They had Oreo, but no cheese! So, I tried a passionfruit and Oreo combination instead, and it was a total flop. Haha.

Overall, I'd say there's no real need to visit twice. Once is enough, honestly. There didn't seem to be a huge variety of unique items to shop for.
To be frank, you might even find it a little underwhelming.
If you're still looking for more to do, head down the nearby alley, and you'll discover a cluster of pubs that feel like a hangout spot for Westerners. Just a little tip!

So, there you have it – a look at the Nha Trang Night Market's hours, location, and atmosphere. While it might have left me feeling a little underwhelmed, it's still an experience worth considering for your trip.
