Nha Trang Island Hopping Tour 2026: A Family-Friendly Guide
Join us on a private Nha Trang island hopping tour with our little ones! Experience crystal-clear waters, vibrant marine life, and serene beaches, perfect for a family escape.
If you're planning a family trip to Nha Trang, Vietnam, an island hopping tour is an absolute must!
Imagine capturing stunning photos on picturesque islands, swimming with vibrant fish, and simply soaking up the good times.
Our extended family, including our two little ones (born just a year apart!), recently embarked on a fantastic Nha Trang island hopping adventure, and we're excited to share all the details with you.

When you search for "Nha Trang island hopping," you'll often find many lively, pirate-ship-themed tours.
However, since we were traveling with toddlers, we specifically sought out and booked a quieter, small-group tour.
Being an extended family, we were fortunate to have a private boat exclusively for our group, allowing us to move at our own pace and truly relax.

Nha Trang Island Hopping Tour Itinerary — A Full Day, Four-Island Adventure
Stop 1: Hon Mun Island — Snorkeling
Stop 2: Diving Center — Scuba Diving / Sea Walking Experience
Stop 3: Mini Beach — Lunch
Stop 4: Hon Tam Resort — Pool & Beach
Stop 1: Hon Mun Island Snorkeling Experience

Our first stop was Hon Mun Island, a fantastic mini-beach perfect for snorkeling.
It's a pebble beach, so you won't get sand everywhere, and the water is incredibly clear – you can easily spot fish swimming right by your feet!

Sunbeds were available to rent for 50,000 VND, which is about ~$2.
Our guide, however, kindly advised us that we could simply leave our belongings near the rocks and save on the rental fee, which was a helpful tip!

We arrived early and had the entire beach to ourselves, feeling like we had a private paradise!
Our guide even gave us a heads-up that larger groups would arrive later, so we made the most of our peaceful, early morning swim.

Our oldest was a bit intimidated by the waves and opted not to go in, while our youngest drifted off to sleep to the soothing sound of the ocean.
So, it was just the adults who got to enjoy some fantastic snorkeling!
Nha Trang Island Hopping: Essential Packing List for Families
For Babies/Toddlers:
Baby life vest (The tour company usually provides adult or older child sizes, so it's best to bring your own for little ones.)
Swim diapers (These can be hard to find locally, so pack enough before you leave!)
Sunscreen (Essential for both adults and kids! We recommend bringing baby-specific sunscreen from home.)
For Adults:
Full-face snorkeling mask
A full-face snorkeling mask covers your entire face and makes breathing much easier compared to traditional masks.
Being able to breathe through your nose makes it feel less intimidating, especially for snorkeling beginners, and we highly recommend it!
Stop 2: Diving Center — Scuba Diving & Sea Walking Prices

Our second stop was the Diving Center, where you can try out scuba diving and sea walking.
The standard price was 2,000,000 VND per person (approximately ~$73), but we managed to negotiate it down to 1,500,000 VND (approximately ~$55) per person for the experience.

Our second child, who had been eager to try scuba diving, felt her heart race as she entered the water.
Once submerged, she found the limited visibility a bit scary and decided to get a refund.
In the end, only Dad and our youngest child experienced the thrill of scuba diving!

While some of us were diving, the little ones and the rest of the family, tired from all the water fun,
enjoyed a refreshing break with watermelon and beer provided by the tour company, simply soaking in the views.
Stop 3: Mini Beach Lunch Stop

For lunch, we moved to the beautiful Mini Beach.

We were greeted with a generous spread of dishes, including delicious noodles, morning glory, and fried tofu.
Lunch was included in our tour cost, so there were no extra charges.
A quick tip for families: you might want to bring separate food for your little ones.
The meal was primarily geared towards adults, and there weren't many options suitable for babies, which was a minor drawback.
Stop 4: Hon Tam Resort - Pool & Beach

Our final stop was Hon Tam Resort.
While they offer mud spa experiences, we opted to simply enjoy the resort's beautiful swimming pools and pristine beach.

The sandy beach here is absolutely perfect for kids to enjoy some sandcastle building and playtime! 🌸

Our little one spotted a foreign lady playing in the sand and, being the friendly cutie she is, toddled right over to join in the fun! 😄

On the way back, our second little one was completely worn out and fast asleep, sun-kissed and adorable – truly a heartwarming end to our amazing day!
