When you visit Nha Trang, marine activities are an absolute must. And guess what? I just experienced them again!
This time, I opted for a slightly different kind of tour. Some tours combine snorkeling with a lively boat party, while others strip away the extras to focus purely on the snorkeling experience.
I went for the latter this time around.

Pickup and Transfer
A pickup vehicle arrived right at my hotel, whisking me away to the pier.
There's a dedicated waiting area, which was a nice touch, keeping us out of the sun while we waited.
They even offered refreshing iced coffee while we waited, a perfect pick-me-up before heading to our speedboat.
The speedboat was surprisingly fast! Maybe it was just the excitement of being on vacation, but the ride itself was already a thrill.
First Stop: Hon Mun Island
The emerald waters here are stunning, but the island itself is just as beautiful. With life jackets on, we wasted no time diving straight into the water.
Even after enjoying the Nha Trang island hopping tour underwater, looking up at the sky was just as breathtaking. This area is a protected marine zone, which might explain why it's teeming with so many fish and offers such an incredible overall landscape.
Second Snorkeling Spot: Deeper Waters
We'd already had a blast at the first spot, but there was no way I was skipping the second! So, back into the water we went. While the previous spot was a shallow area accessible from the beach, this one was quite deep, requiring us to jump straight from the boat into the middle of the ocean. Unfortunately, since I can't swim, I wasn't able to dive down... a bit of a bummer, honestly!
Having already spent plenty of time with the fish at the first location, I mostly just floated around here. My stamina really needs some work – time to hit the gym!
Lunch Break at Soi Island
Finally, it was time for the much-anticipated lunch! While all the local food during my Vietnam trip has been delicious,
nothing beats a warm bowl of instant noodles after a refreshing swim!
Free Time Fun
After lunch, it's free time! I didn't realize it at first, but after doing these tours a few times, this has become one of my favorite parts of the day.
If you're all tuckered out, you can simply relax on a sunbed and take a nap, or head to the bar for a refreshing beer or coffee. Personally, I usually grab a coffee and find a comfy spot to lounge.
Alternatively, you can indulge in a variety of water sports – they have pretty much everything you could imagine!
The time before last, I tried scuba diving (or skin diving, with the oxygen tank), and last time I did sea walking. Since both of those were underwater activities, this time I opted for parasailing, which keeps you above the water! Just watching others do it looked incredibly fun.

It feels like I almost always include an island hopping tour whenever I visit Nha Trang. The ability to try different activities during free time on Soi Island keeps it exciting. What should I try next time?
This Nha Trang island hopping tour was a version that removed additional elements like onboard parties and focused solely on snorkeling. Previously, there were also versions that combined snorkeling with parties on board.
The first snorkeling point, Hon Mun Island, was a shallow area accessible by walking in from the beach, and it is a protected area rich in fish and coral reefs. The second snorkeling point was a fairly deep area where we disembarked from the boat in the middle of the sea.
During free time after lunch on Soi Island, one could lie on a sunbed and nap, or drink beer or coffee at the bar. Marine sports such as scuba diving, sea walking, and parasailing were also available.
