Nha Trang has quite a few places worth visiting, but going to each one individually can be a hassle. That's where the Nha Trang city tour comes in! It's super convenient because you can hit all the must-see spots in one go.

There are both full-day and half-day options.

The difference is that Hon Chong Promontory, a cyclo ride, and one extra meal are included in the full-day tour.

I figured a half-day would be enough, so I picked that.

Tours are also divided into morning and afternoon options, the difference being whether you visit Dam Market or Lotte Mart, and if lunch or dinner is included.

The usual order is Po Nagar Temple, Dam Market, Long Son Pagoda, the Cathedral, and a meal, but it seems they adapt flexibly depending on the weather and daily circumstances.

I mean, you can go to Lotte Mart by yourself, right?

With that in mind, I chose the morning tour.

Nha Trang Cathedral

This was the first stop on the Nha Trang city tour. Location-wise, it was close to the last group's pickup hotel.

There's no separate entrance fee, but our guide put some money in a box as we passed by, so I asked about it. He said it's for the people who work here, used for cleaning and other upkeep.

Our guide gave us explanations as we went up.

He mentioned that about 15% of the population in Vietnam is Catholic, and that many weddings are held here. Just as he said that,

we immediately spotted a couple doing a photoshoot, haha!

Like other cathedrals, the interior has high ceilings, feels grand, and evokes a sense of reverence.

Nha Trang Long Son Pagoda

Our next destination was a temple.

From a Catholic church directly to a Buddhist site... haha!

This place is famous for its massive Buddha statue, which you can see from afar.

They say you have to climb 193 steps.

It wasn't too difficult, but oh, the weather...

Everyone coming down was drenched in sweat...

First, on the way up, we passed by a reclining Buddha.

It's not as big as the one at the top, but it's still quite massive.

There seems to be a superstition that touching its elbow brings good luck. Everyone was grabbing its elbow for photos, so the color has actually changed there.

Finally arrived!

The colossal seated Buddha. Its sheer size is overwhelming,

but before that, the heat was even more overwhelming!

I was so envious of the portable fan the person I was with was holding.. (It was really hot!)

Dam Market

They say Dam Market is the biggest in Nha Trang, but its size has been significantly reduced due to COVID-19.

Apparently, it moved from the building on the left to the one on the right.

There wasn't really anything I *needed* to buy, but..

I ended up buying a magnet.

When I asked how much it was, they typed 40,000 dong into the calculator...

But wait, it says 36,000 on the back...??

When I flipped it over and showed them, they laughed and changed the price to 30,000 dong ㅋㅋㅋ

I decided not to haggle further and bought it for that price.

(For reference, some places start at 20,000 dong, so if you're determined to bargain, you could probably get it for at least 15,000, and maybe even 10,000 dong if you're good!)

I also bought a cute-looking rattan bag for my niece.

They initially quoted 110,000 dong,

I offered 40,000 dong, and we settled on 75,000 dong.

Ponagar Tower

Our final stop: Po Nagar Cham Towers.

These are ancient structures from the Champa Kingdom era, and they're Hindu temples.

(It feels like the Nha Trang city tour is basically a circuit of various religious heritage sites, doesn't it?)

Our guide got us the tickets, and then we inserted them there to pass through.

The reason is that the ticket booth is on the left, making it the most convenient path.

Another interesting fact we can deduce is that as of 11:30 AM on a weekday, there were 367 visitors.

Once you step inside, there's a majestic feel to it.

Though this isn't the main area,

After climbing the stairs,

this is the main area.

Just a quick tip: out of the three towers, the middle one definitely makes for the best photos! (The first, largest one is so grand it can actually make getting the right proportions a bit tricky.)

Local Home-Style Meal

Finally, it was time for lunch! And by this point, I was actually pretty hungry.

Honestly, I usually don't have high hopes for meals that are included in a tour package, as they can sometimes be a hit or miss,

But wow, it was so incredibly delicious it could rival some of the best local restaurants!

Seriously, it was SO good! Haha.

When the food arrived, everyone went silent, completely engrossed in eating.

Of course, being famished from all the exploring probably helped too!

Trying to visit all these places one by one on your own can be quite a hassle, so I opted for a packaged tour program. The main advantage is having a guide with you, but honestly, what I keep thinking about is just how delicious that last meal was! (Seriously, a good meal can make all the difference, haha!)
