Shopping is an absolute must when you travel to Nha Trang, right?

On my recent trip, I explored everything from Dam Market and the Night Market

to various boutique shops downtown!

To cut straight to the chase, if you're looking for rattan bags

or high-quality dresses

that will last, I'm so glad I bought them at Central Market.

Sure, the local markets were cheaper if you only look at the price tags,

but comparing them side-by-side, the difference in material and finishing was huge.

So today, for anyone putting together their Nha Trang shopping list,

I'm going to share the best things to buy at Central Market

along with their prices! :)

1. Must-Visit Spot in Downtown Nha Trang

Central Market is just a 1-minute walk from Bếp An Tô (An Thoi), a famous local restaurant,

and the famous Fruit Stall No. 65, which is a must-visit for fresh fruit.

It's super close, making it incredibly easy to fit

into your daily itinerary!

Best of all, the AC inside is incredibly powerful and chilly,

allowing you to shop in cool comfort even during the hottest part of the day.

Unlike Dam Market, where it can get stiflingly hot and crowded,

I could browse at my own pace and even try things on.

2. Shopping at Central Market

At first, I thought it was just a simple clothing store,

but they have everything from dresses, rattan bags, hats, and accessories

to souvenirs and local snacks. The selection is so diverse

that you can check off your entire shopping list in one go.

One thing I absolutely loved was the fixed-price system.

At the traditional markets, having to constantly haggle for prices

was a bit exhausting (maybe it's because I'm an MBTI "I" type...).

But here, everything has a clear price tag,

so you can browse completely stress-free.

On top of that, the staff spoke English and Korean incredibly well,

making it easy to ask questions. Plus, they accept credit cards,

so you don't need to carry a ton of cash around.

3. Dresses & Clothing

The selection of dresses was much larger than I expected.

They had everything from perfect vacation dresses and couple looks

to matching family outfits for those

traveling with kids. It was so much fun

looking through all the options.

Most importantly, the quality was on another level

compared to the clothes at the traditional markets.

They might look similar at first glance, but once you touch

and try them on, you can feel how much sturdier the fabric is.

Since many of them are handmade,

the designs felt very unique and exclusive.

Prices were mostly around 700,000 to 800,000 VND (about $28 to $32 USD),

which isn't exactly cheap when you consider local prices.

If you go to Dam Market or Shrek Shop, you can find dresses for 200,000 to 300,000 VND (about $8 to $12 USD),

but they all share the exact same designs (that typical, generic Southeast Asian resort look).

The quality of the material and finish definitely live up to the price! 🥹

And the absolute best part was that they have a fitting room.

You can try things on before you buy,

and if the fit is a little off,

they can even do alterations right on the spot!

4. Rattan Bags

Personally, the absolute number one thing

I recommend buying at Central Market is a rattan bag.

I had actually checked out quite a few at Dam Market first.

While the market prices were definitely much cheaper,

comparing them again here at Central Market,

the difference in quality was huge.

Even if they look like the same design,

everything from the tightness of the rattan weave

to the handle finishes, lining, and zipper details

was on a completely different level of craftsmanship.

The prices for the rattan bags inside the shop

were around ~$6 to ~$26,

while the items near the entrance were a bit pricier.

These are from their premium line,

so they cost over ~$51!

They also had a huge variety of rattan hats.

If you're planning to wear it for a long time,

prioritizing quality over price

will definitely leave you much happier with your purchase!

5. Souvenirs

The souvenir selection was also surprisingly diverse, making it a great place to shop.

From treats like dried mango, coconut jam, mango jam, Da Lat coffee beans,

mango coffee, and matcha lattes,

to items like mugs, magnets, coasters, and wooden tableware—

you can browse everything in one place.

I also loved that they have free tasting stations,

so you can sample the goods with no pressure before you buy.

If you’re looking for gifts to hand out to coworkers or friends,

the mugs or coasters would be a super cute option! :)

While it's a bit more expensive than Dam Market,

if you're looking for a high-quality rattan bag, rattan hat,

or dress that will actually last,

I highly recommend Central Market!
