Vietnam Family Trip: Pool Villas and Water Park Fun

Hey there, global explorers!
I'm Nabongsoon, your go-to travel influencer.
Every year, I absolutely love venturing to Nha Trang, Vietnam, and if you're traveling with kids,
Alma Resort Nha Trang in the Cam Ranh area is my absolute must-stay for at least one night.
Spread across a sprawling estate, with numerous swimming pools, a private beach, and even a water park,
it truly feels like a water wonderland when you visit with your little ones.
It's the ultimate 5-star Nha Trang resort experience for families!

The resort grounds are so vast, they feel like their own charming village,
offering both Nha Trang pool villa-style accommodations and building-style rooms.
Each has its own distinct advantages and disadvantages.
Having visited Alma Resort Nha Trang multiple times for a family trip to Vietnam, I'm here to break down everything you need to know.
I'll cover the pros and cons of both Alma Vietnam's pool villa and building-style accommodations,
along with their location, atmosphere, amenities, things to do, and even breakfast!
Hopefully, this guide will be a huge help before you make your reservation.
1. Alma Resort: Location & Booking Essentials

One of the biggest perks of the popular Alma Resort Nha Trang is its fantastic accessibility to the airport.
You can hop in a taxi and be there in about 10 minutes!
That's why, when planning a family trip to Nha Trang, I often book it for the beginning or end of our vacation.
If you're catching a late-night flight home, you'll be thrilled to know you can still use the water park and other resort facilities even after checking out,
making it a perfect finale to your trip.

During the regular season, a building-style room for 2-3 people, including breakfast, can be quite affordable,
costing around ~$150 - ~$225 per night. However, during the peak summer season, accommodation prices can skyrocket 2-3 times higher.
Even then, it's such a sought-after destination that it's often fully booked.
That's why I always recommend checking Agoda not just for Alma, but also for other resorts in the nearby Cam Ranh area.
Carefully compare availability and prices, and try to snag a discounted rate.
2. Pool Villa vs. Building-Style: Which is for You?

When planning your stay at Alma Resort, you'll need to choose between two distinct types of accommodation.
First, there are the detached pool villa-style pavilions, stretching back from the beachfront,

And then there are the building-style suites, located in the high-rise towers near the check-in lounge.

The building-style suites at this Vietnam hotel offer breathtaking high-rise ocean views, giving you a wonderful sense of openness.

Plus, they boast excellent accessibility, being close to the lounge, breakfast restaurants, the water park, and other facilities.

The convenience store here is well-stocked with fruits, snacks, and drinks, and while it's pretty big, expect prices to be a bit higher than what you'd find at a supermarket in town.
You'll also have easy access to elevators, a laundry room, and the convenience store nearby,
making your stay incredibly convenient.

The villa-style accommodations in Nha Trang are perfect for anyone looking to enjoy a private family trip to Nha Trang.
With exclusive access to an outdoor terrace, private pool, or even a lush garden, you can truly soak in the beautiful landscaping and the authentic vibe of a Southeast Asian resort.

These Nha Trang pool villas offer direct access to the beach or a swimming pool, making them perfect for splashing around with the kids and creating lasting memories focused on a luxurious hotel stay during your Vietnam Nha Trang trip.

However, the downside is not just the higher price point. It also takes time every single time you want to head into the city for a taxi, or travel to a restaurant or the water park, as you have to call for a buggy car via chat and then wait for it.
To use other various facilities, you mostly have to walk a considerable distance or wait for a buggy car, which can be surprisingly inconvenient.

There are welcome fruits too!
Having visited Alma Resort multiple times, I personally prefer the building-style rooms, especially when traveling with family to Vietnam during peak season when buggy wait times get longer. They offer excellent value for money and a great location. However, the building-style rooms are so popular that sometimes you might even get "forced" into an upgrade to a Vietnam pool villa, so keep that in mind!
Of course, the basic conditions like the fresh bedding in the bedrooms, the living room sofa, TV, and bathroom amenities are excellent in both building and villa types, ensuring a clean and comfortable stay.
3. Enjoying the Facilities

One of Alma's prides is that you can freely use a whopping 12 outdoor swimming pools! The pools stretch cascadingly from the lounge all the way to the beach, including kids' pools, so you can have a blast splashing around in pools of all sizes.
Near the main pool, which connects to the beach, there's a beach bar where you can enjoy a refreshing cocktail in the evening while having fun in the water.

The water park features exciting water slides, a lazy river where you can float and relax,

a wave pool that operates at scheduled times,

and a mini-pool exclusively for children, ensuring that everyone, regardless of age or gender, can enjoy a refreshing swim and unwind.
Operating hours are usually split into 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM, but times may vary by season, so please confirm at check-in.
During your water activities, you'll find booths scattered around where you can enjoy simple drinks and snacks. Tubes and life jackets are also available for free rental, so you can visit light-heartedly!

There's also a wide array of attractions, including the atmospheric Atlantis restaurant by the sea, a lounge bar, an indoor golf course, and a kids' playground.
There's even a small movie theater and game room, perfect for escaping the scorching heat and having some fun.
4. High-Quality Breakfast

Since you usually need to take a taxi to reach external restaurants, breakfast is typically included in your reservation here.
The quality is quite good, and they offer a wide variety of fruits, so if you're on a family trip to Nha Trang, be sure to indulge!

Alma Garden, a grand buffet-style restaurant,
and La Casa, with its refined fine-dining ambiance,
both operate here, so you can choose the one that best suits your taste.
Alma Garden, located in the Main Tower,
is a vast buffet where they prepare delicious dishes live right in front of you.
You can indulge in a wide array of options, from freshly made Vietnamese pho to fruits, bakery items,
a Korean food corner, other Vietnamese specialties, and even tempting desserts.
Just a heads-up: it can get quite bustling during peak times in high season,
so we recommend heading there a bit early to beat the rush!

La Casa is a restaurant with a slightly more tranquil atmosphere.
The menu is similar to Alma Garden's, but it's not a buffet; instead,
it's a place where you can enjoy breakfast served directly to your table.

To start, a lovely three-tier tray with basic items like yogurt, fruits, ham, and bakery items is served.
You can then continuously order your preferred drinks or main dishes,
making it a great choice for family trips to Vietnam with children
or if you're traveling with your parents,
as you can sit back and enjoy a relaxed meal. So, considering this option might be a wonderful idea!
