Narita Airport Skyliner 2026: Ueno & Nippori Tickets, Timetable
Heading to Tokyo? The Narita Skyliner offers a speedy, direct route to Ueno and Nippori, perfect for travelers staying in popular areas like Asakusa. Learn how to book and save!

When heading into Tokyo city from Narita Airport,
it's most convenient to choose your transport based on your accommodation's location.
Since I stayed in Asakusa,
I used the Tokyo Skyliner,
which goes directly to Ueno Station.
If you've booked your accommodation in the Ueno or Nippori area,
it's an especially convenient route with fewer transfers and shorter travel time.
I'll break down everything from how to book, round-trip prices, the timetable,
and even how to exchange your QR voucher.
I'll also share some **insider tips for booking at a discount**!
1. From Narita Airport to Ueno Station & Nippori

📌 How to get from Narita Airport to Tokyo City
It's easy if you choose based on your accommodation's location.
Tokyo Station, Shinjuku, Shibuya → Narita Express
Ueno, Asakusa → Skyliner
If a stop directly in front of your hotel is important → Use a Limousine Bus
(I've also used the Narita Express and Limousine Bus when staying in Shibuya and Roppongi,
and I'll leave reviews for those at the bottom of the post.)

The Skyliner is a direct train from Narita Airport
to Ueno Station and Nippori Station.
I stayed at an accommodation in Asakusa,
and **since I could just get off at Ueno and transfer to the subway,**
it wasn't particularly difficult to move around with my luggage.
Especially, the **biggest advantage** was being able to travel from the airport to Ueno and Nippori
**without any traffic congestion.**
(Limousine buses can get stuck in traffic on Fridays and weekends,
and the Skyliner is indeed much faster than the Narita Express (N'EX).)
2. Booking the Tokyo Skyliner

📌 Tokyo Skyliner Booking Prices
Category | One-way | Round-trip |
Klook | ~$13 | ~$26 |
KKDAY | ~$15 | ~$29 |
Currently, Klook is the cheapest for both one-way and round-trip tickets.
❗ For those who will be getting off at Ueno or Nippori Station
and transferring directly to the subway,
I recommend purchasing a subway pass together with your ticket.
(You get an extra discount when purchasing them together as an option.)

3. Round-trip Timetable

20:00, 20:18, 20:40, 21:00, 21:20,
21:40, 22:00, 22:20, 22:40, 23:00
📌 Weekends (Departing from Narita Airport Terminal 1)

22:00, 22:20, 22:40, 23:00
**The Skyliner has frequent departures,**
so even if my flight arrival time changed a bit,
it wasn't difficult to wait for the next train.
The timetable for trains heading into the city from the airport
also continuously operates from Narita Airport Terminal 1 or Terminal 2·3 Station
towards Nippori and Ueno.
4. Exchanging Your Keisei Skyliner Voucher

Once you arrive at Narita Airport, first,
just follow the "Train" or "Railway" signs.
I went down to the train boarding area on the B1 floor,
and used the QR code from my pre-received voucher.
I exchanged my voucher for a physical Skyliner ticket!

The process for using an official e-ticket is quite similar, so no worries there!
Simply head to any designated ticket counter or express ticket machine,
scan your exchange QR code, and pick your preferred departure time.
Just like that, your physical ticket will be printed, ready for your journey!

I noticed the line for the ticket machines was shorter than the counter,
so I opted to exchange my voucher directly at the machine.
It was surprisingly straightforward! All I had to do was tap 'Code Exchange,' scan my QR code,
then select my preferred boarding time and designated seat.
Easy peasy!

Plus, there was a helpful staff member nearby the ticket machines,
so even if it's your first time, you won't have to stress at all!

Once your ticket is issued, simply insert it into the ticket gate and enter.
Then, check the electronic board for your platform and
head down in time for your departure.
5. My Skyliner Onboard Experience

The Skyliner's interior featured sleek blue seats, and
I was pleasantly surprised by how spacious and comfortable it felt, with plenty of legroom between seats!
Best of all, since all seats are reserved,
I didn't have to worry about standing after lugging my suitcase through the airport –
pure bliss to just sit back and relax!

There's dedicated space inside the train for storing your suitcases,
and smaller bags like backpacks or duffels can easily go on the overhead shelves.
With free Wi-Fi available, I got lost watching YouTube videos,
and before I knew it, we had already arrived in the city!

At Narita Airport Terminal 1, there's a convenience store conveniently located near the ticket exchange point,
so I grabbed a sandwich and some snacks before hopping on the train.
As soon as I arrived in Japan, munching on convenience store treats while
heading into Tokyo really brought that 'I'm on vacation!' feeling to life.😌
If your accommodation is in areas like Ueno, Nippori, or Asakusa,
I highly recommend checking out the Skyliner first!
Especially if you're planning a round trip,
be sure to compare prices for round-trip packages or even combined offers that include a subway pass,
rather than just buying two one-way tickets separately!
