For my trip to Tokyo this time,
my planned itinerary was:
Narita Airport → Asakusa Station
Shinjuku Station → Narita Airport
Since I was arriving at Narita Airport and heading to Asakusa Station, the Skyliner or Access Express would have been a better fit. However, since I was departing from Shinjuku on my way back and the round-trip ticket was cheaper, I just booked a round-trip ticket for the Narita Express.

In the past, people used to stand in line at the station counter to buy tickets,
but who does that these days?
We have smartphones, after all!
If you book in advance,
you can just scan a QR code on site
and immediately exchange it for a physical ticket,
saving you precious time.

3. Finding the 'N'EX Platform' at Narita Terminal 2
Once you exit the arrival hall, just follow the
Narita Express signs.
Here's a tip!
While you can exchange your voucher at the JR East Travel Service Center,
we recommend using the
red self-service ticket machine right next to it.
Scan your QR code,
scan your passport,
and your ticket will be issued!
"What if I can't speak Japanese?"
Don't worry!
The exchange process is simple,
and station staff are always on standby
to help you with everything!
I even had my ticket in hand before I fully registered what happened...!
The station attendant quickly swooped in and printed it for me. Haha!
4. N'EX Ticket Issuance and Fail-Proof Seat Reservation Tips
The N'EX has reserved seating for all passengers.
Just getting your ticket isn't the end of it.
You also need a 'seat reservation ticket' with your seat number on it.
This means after your initial ticket is issued, you need to re-insert it
to reserve your seat!
Once you have your ticket with a seat reservation issued,
it will show your train number and seat, just like in the picture.
Then, with your ticket in hand, follow the slightly blurry
'Green JR →' sign visible above the ticket in the photo.
Head down in the direction of that arrow,
and you'll be able to board the Express!
Honestly, with just this one photo,
you'll perfectly know where to board, right?
Having actually ridden it myself,
it's undeniably convenient.
The convenience of getting straight to Shinjuku or Shibuya
without any transfers!
Plus, the train's interior is incredibly comfortable.
The seats are spacious, and the windows are wide!
In Japan, just looking out the train window makes me happy...
