From cold relief teas, toothpaste, and shampoo to vitamins and hand creams,
here is my ultimate Germany DM shopping list and price guide.
Germany Munich Travel DM
Souvenir Shopping List & Gift Recommendations
1️⃣ Cold Relief Tea
2️⃣ Toothpaste & Shampoo
3️⃣ Supplements,
4️⃣ Hand Cream
5️⃣ Others

First of all, one of the best things about Germany's DM is
its incredibly low prices.
Compared to the general cost of living in Germany,
the products at DM are so cheap and high quality that they feel like an absolute steal.
Plus, there are so many locations that whenever you have some free time,
it's super easy to pop in and grab some German souvenirs along your route.
In Munich, most stores close around 8:00 PM,
but opening hours can vary slightly by location.
One important tip: DM stores in Munich are closed on Sundays!
Actually, most shops are closed on Sundays, not just DM,
so make sure to double-check opening days when planning your itinerary.

My personal recommendations for DM products—
Top 3 German Souvenirs
Cold Relief Tea
Ajona Toothpaste
Kamill Hand Cream
Cold Relief Tea

✔️ Cold Relief Tea
💸 €1.25
This is my number one recommended German souvenir.
They are tea bags that cost only about ~$1 per box,
making them the perfect budget-friendly item for your German shopping list!
There's a huge variety, so you can choose them based on
any specific health issues or preferences.
Leber-und Galle Tee: Liver & Gallbladder
Magen-und Darm Tee: Stomach & Gut
Fettverdauungs Tee: Fat Digestion
Hals-und Rachen Tee: Throat & Pharynx
Husten-und Bronchial Tee: Cough & Bronchial
Erkältungs Tee: Cold Relief
Schlaf-und Nerven Tee: Sleep & Nerves
Out of these, I felt I needed the Throat, Stomach & Gut, and Fat Digestion teas,
so I bought them and have been drinking them one by one
whenever I'm feeling a bit under the weather.

Toothpaste & Shampoo

✔️ Elmex Toothpaste
💸 €3.95 - €6.95 depending on size and type
If you search online, a pack of four 75ml orange Elmex toothpastes
costs over ~$32 for 4 tubes,
but at Germany's DM, it's only €3.95, which is about ~$4.

✔️ Ajona Toothpaste
💸 Around €1-something
I didn't take a picture, so I don't remember the exact price,
but it was under €2.
The tube is quite small, but since you only need a tiny drop each time,
a single tube has lasted me over six months.
But the more I use it, the more I regret not buying more! ㅠㅠ
It's cheaper than the Elmex toothpaste I mentioned earlier,
and because of its compact size, it doesn't add weight to your suitcase.
In terms of both price and weight, Ajona is the absolute best German souvenir
I'd recommend.

✔️ Alpecin Shampoo
💸 C1 €6.95
💸 Caffeine Hair Booster €9.95
Alpecin Shampoo, a famous German souvenir renowned for preventing hair loss.
They have several lines, but the ones that are actually effective for hair loss
are the C1 and Caffeine Hair Booster.
It must be incredibly popular in Germany too,
because even at a DM store located far away from any tourist spots, it was completely out of stock.

Supplements & Remedies

✔️ Vitamins
There's a massive variety, including vitamin B, C, D, and multivitamins.
Most of them are priced well under €5,
so if there's a vitamin you've been hesitant to try,
it's a great chance to grab one at an amazing price and start taking it.

Various Supplements
Omega-3, Multivitamins
I heard Doppelherz is one of the most popular
supplement brands on the German DM shopping list,
so I stocked up on plenty of Omega-3 to give as gifts to my parents.

✔️ Sore Throat Lozenges
💸 €3.95~€6.25
These are throat lozenges for colds and sore throats that you can take like candy.
When traveling around Europe, the air gets pretty dry,
so your throat can end up feeling quite raw on many days.
They're so easy to keep in your bag and pop in whenever you need one,
making them not only a great German souvenir but also a lifesaver during your trip.
Hand Cream

✔️ Kamill Hand Cream
💸 €1.35
This is absolutely one of my TOP 3 recommended German souvenirs.
It only costs about ~$1 here,
but this exact hand cream goes for about ~$4 at Olive Young back in Korea.
My hands get super dry compared to the rest of my skin, so I always
keep hand cream on me. I love Kamill because compared to other brands,
it's highly affordable and has amazing moisturizing power.
But even with Kamill already being budget-friendly, it’s more than three times cheaper in Germany!
I ended up stocking up on almost a two-year supply of hand cream.

Besides Kamill, hand creams from brands like Balea and Handsan
are also said to be excellent for moisturizing.
In particular, Balea is DM's private label brand,
making it even cheaper than Kamill.
Other Goodies

✔️ Horse Cream (Muscle Pain Relief Cream)
💸 €3.95~€4.95
You can think of it as a liquid pain relief patch,
and it is highly effective for muscle aches.
My neck and shoulders often feel stiff,
but applying this brings instant, cooling relief.
It's a wonderful German souvenir to gift to friends who work out.

✔️ Various Mini Travel-Sized Products
From cleansing oils and waters to cleansing foams and body washes,
there's a whole array of tiny, travel-friendly products
lined up on the shelves.
These minis can actually be surprisingly hard to find when you need them.
Usually, if you want something for a short trip or to use at the airport,
you have to hassle with decanting products into tiny travel bottles.
But here, almost every cleansing product imaginable is available in miniature sizes,
so I stocked up on tons of essentials!

DM is the absolute best place to shop for German souvenirs!
It's way bigger than you'd think and packed with so many amazing items.
But since mobile data can be notoriously spotty inside buildings in Europe,
doing a quick search on what to buy beforehand
and taking screenshots of your wishlist will make your shopping spree so much easier!
