Hello, I'm Kim Jigu!

I traveled to Busan earlier this year,

And whenever I felt like taking a break, as if by fate,

I'd find myself at the Mungyeong Rest Stop.

With the upcoming Chuseok holiday just around the corner,

I'll be heading to Busan to see my grandmother,

And I'm sure I'll be stopping by the Mungyeong Rest Stop again.

So I wanted to share my review of my visit! =)

When I drive down to Busan, I use the southbound direction,

And when I come back up to Seoul, I make sure to hit the Seoul-bound Mungyeong Rest Stop too.

I smartly stop twice to feast on delicious food,

Charge my electric car,

And get some wonderful rest at the Mungyeong Rest Stop!

Mungyeong Rest Stop is such a great place to take a break!

Let me tell you all about it ~~~~~

1. Mungyeong Rest Stop (Seoul-bound) Restaurants

Since my grandmother lives in Busan,

Ever since I was little, on my way to Busan,

I'd occasionally stop at the Mungyeong Rest Stop (Seoul-bound direction)

To grab a meal and shake off the fatigue.

Even when I visited Busan after the Lunar New Year holiday this year,

The Mungyeong Rest Stop was still

Bustling with customers, as always.

I imagine it will be incredibly crowded

With people again during the upcoming Chuseok holiday.

It was seriously packed!

I initially just planned to pop into the convenience store,

But the delicious smells drew me deeper inside the Mungyeong Rest Stop,

And I started exploring its nooks and crannies, haha.

First, across from the convenience store,

There's a deli food zone that's impossible to pass by,

And a Tom N Toms coffee shop, perfect for a quick coffee break to shake off fatigue.

If a full meal feels like too much,

Signature rest stop snacks like hot bars and hodugwaja (walnut cakes)

Were available in several spots further inside.

What particularly impressed me,

The standout restaurant at Mungyeong Rest Stop (Seoul-bound), was

33 Tteokbokki.

They have convenient one-bite tteokbokki that's easy to eat while driving,

And when you want a bit of everything,

Their 33 Set is a fantastic option. I've bought it several times, haha.

Even when I tried to avoid peak meal times,

Mungyeong Rest Stop (Seoul-bound) was always bustling with people.

Besides snacks,

You'll also find essential rest stop dishes like

Seafood soft tofu stew, tonkatsu (pork cutlet), jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup),

Bibimbap, udon, and ramen!

I was just planning to grab a light snack and move on,

but the customers visiting here ordered

so much Tonkatsu (pork cutlet) that

it seems Mungyeong Service Area's Tonkatsu must be famous!

From the 10-won bread that kids these days love,

there were so many snacks that made me want to buy something

even if I wasn't hungry!

At Mungyeong Service Area's snack corner,

there was absolutely no snack missing: whole potatoes, Sotteok Sotteok (rice cake and sausage skewers), seafood bar,

tornado potatoes, sweet potato sticks, hot dogs, and more!

If you're going to take a break anyway, I highly recommend stopping by Mungyeong Service Area

to rest your body and delight your taste buds!

Personally, on my next visit,

I'm absolutely going to try Mungyeong Service Area's Tonkatsu.

I'm so incredibly curious

why everyone was ordering Mungyeong Service Area's Tonkatsu like that!

2. Mungyeong Service Area EV Charging

Whether a service area has a gas station or EV charging station

often varies depending on whether it's on the northbound or southbound direction.

But Mungyeong Service Area (northbound direction)

had an EV charging station!

From what I saw on the way,

there was also an ultra-fast charging zone.

It didn't seem like there was a separate sign

indicating which zone was ultra-fast, but

even just the fast charging (not ultra-fast)

was good enough to rest at the service area and

enjoy some delicious light bites! Haha, I recommend it! lol

3. Amenities

Occasionally, you might find poorly maintained restrooms, but

the restrooms at Mungyeong Service Area (northbound direction)

had many stalls and were really well-kept.

Just like most service areas,

there were plenty of parking spaces too.

There was even a free wheelchair and stroller rental service.

As soon as I arrived at Mungyeong Service Area (northbound direction),

I plugged in the EV to charge.

Within about 30 minutes, I grabbed some snacks and

visited the restroom, and just like that, 30 minutes flew by,

and the EV was well-charged!

Make sure to stop by the well-managed

Mungyeong Service Area (northbound direction) with its many

delicious menu items for a great break!
