the truly trending autumn flower hotspot these days is
actually a field of stunning purple Gaemichwi asters!🖤💜
If you're looking to capture some truly unforgettable 'life shots' this autumn,
why not check out Mungyeong Munhui Farm, the absolute hottest spot on social media right now?

I'll be sharing all the details,

01. Mungyeong Gaemichwi Hotspots: Where Should You Go?
Munhui Farm vs. Bongcheonsa Temple: A Comparison
Mungyeong boasts two prime Gaemichwi hotspots.
For a long time, Bongcheonsa Temple was considered unrivaled in beauty,
but Munhui Farm has quickly emerged as a strong contender since last year.
If you have the luxury of time,
visiting both is definitely the best option,
but for those of you who have to pick just one, and are wondering which to choose?
I've done the comparison for you, so you can save precious planning time!
Mungyeong Munhui Farm | Mungyeong Bongcheonsa Temple | |
Admission Fee | Free (~$0) | Paid (Per person ~$9) |
Parking | - Limited temporary parking - Street parking often necessary | - Dedicated parking lot available (Can get crowded during weekend festivals) |
Features | - Lush pine forest entrance path and valley - Large-scale Gaemichwi aster colony spanning approximately 18,000 pyeong (about 14.6 acres) | Tranquil scenery harmonizing with temple surroundings |
The biggest difference, of course, is the "admission fee."
While Bongcheonsa Temple charges an entrance fee of around ~$7 to ~$9 per person,
Munhui Farm, where I went, has no admission fee at all – it's completely free!
Plus, there's no parking fee either, making it an entirely free experience!

For families or anyone looking to capture stunning photos in the
Gaemichwi flower fields without any financial burden,
I truly believe Munhui Farm is the perfect choice.
02. Mungyeong Munhui Farm Gaemichwi: Real-time Bloom Status

So, if you've decided Munhui Farm is your destination,
the next burning question is probably about the real-time bloom status, right?
I personally visited around 1 PM on September 27th this year.

Currently, with the exception of some shaded spots
that don't get much sun,
almost all the flowers are 80-90% in full bloom!

From this past weekend, when I visited, right up until mid-October,
it's prime time to capture some truly epic 'life shots' against the stunning
backdrop of these expansive light purple Gaemichwi aster fields.

When you're amidst these Aster flower fields,
grown as tall as a person,
it feels like stepping right into a fairytale.
It's genuinely breathtaking.
And not some tacky purple, either!
02. Parking Congestion & Travel Tips
Moonhui Farm boasts expansive flower fields,
and the admission/parking fees are free, which is wonderful.
However, if you're driving yourselves,
you'll need to prepare yourselves mentally a bit...;

Moonhui Farm doesn't have its own dedicated large parking lot.
The temporary parking lot is also very small,
and when we visited on a weekend, arriving and departing cars mixed together,
creating massive traffic jams;
Roadside parking appeared to be permitted.
If you spot an empty space, don't think 'Should I go a little further?'
Just park there, no hesitation! haha..;

We also parked a little further away from Moonhui Farm,
and if you want to enjoy it with fewer crowds,
we recommend arriving before 10 AM.
It's all about playing it smart...... We hope you win the 'spot' game! 🖤🖤
03. The Way to the Flower Fields: Pine Forest Path and Stream
Once you've managed to park successfully (somehow!),
you'll need to walk to the Moonhui Farm Aster flower fields in Mungyeong,
the famous Aster spot.

The path to the flower fields isn't long,
and the pine trees and other large trees
create a lush shade,
blocking out the hot autumn sun completely.

There's even a sampling corner (?) at the entrance,
and a refreshing stream flows alongside,
so you'll arrive quickly as you walk through this visually delightful scenery.
04. Moonhui Farm Mungyeong: Top Photo Spots
Once the Aster flowers start appearing,
from there, just follow where your feet take you,
snapping photos along the path.

The Aster field you see first
is not as big as the one a little further up,
so make sure you don't just pass by – explore it all!

They've even created paths in the center of the large flower field,
making it perfect for stepping inside and taking photos.
There are also large rocks scattered throughout,
and these are truly the ultimate photo spots!

Everyone was even lining up to stand on the rocks and capture their 'life-shot' photos,
waiting patiently!
But I skipped the queue for myself
and just took a few pictures of my parents, haha!
Keep this in mind when you're framing your shots!
