Planning a family trip to Mungyeong? Arten Pool Villa offers spacious accommodations with both private and large outdoor pools, perfect for an unforgettable group getaway.

My in-laws and I recently embarked on a fantastic large family trip to Mungyeong, South Korea.
With six of us traveling, our top priorities were finding a spacious pool and ample room size.
That's how we discovered and booked the Arten Pool Villa in Mungyeong.
To be honest, it doesn't boast the ultra-modern, 'Instagrammable' aesthetic you often see these days,
so my first impression had a slight reservation.
However, after spending a full night and day there,
I realized it perfectly fulfilled its role as a great value-for-money pool villa.
For any large family or group gathering that's serious about swimming and fun,
this private pool villa in Mungyeong was an absolute gem, offering a truly fulfilling getaway! :)

Forest Views and Folding Door Pool Villas
First off, the Arten Pool Villa boasts two amazing swimming areas for guests to enjoy.
The first is a private pool right within your villa,
and the second is a spacious communal pool located near the entrance of the property.
Private Villa Pool

Our private villa, Unit 501, featured an indoor pool with stunning folding doors.
When we opened them wide, the forest view that unfolded before us was absolutely breathtaking.
With the doors open, the gentle breeze and natural sunlight made us feel like we were enjoying a private outdoor swim right in the heart of the woods.

It felt far from a stuffy indoor space; instead,
it was a truly healing experience amidst nature.
Our photos turned out wonderfully,
and it was unanimously the highlight for our entire family.
Outdoor Communal Pool

Beyond the private villa pools, Arten Pension also offers a large outdoor communal swimming pool.
Its much larger and longer size made it perfect for a refreshing swim without feeling cramped.
With its dome-shaped ceiling open,
it was breezy and felt incredibly open and enjoyable.
Moving between our cozy private pool and the expansive outdoor pool meant there was never a dull moment for our family.
The excellent swimming facilities meant we could enjoy not just our first day,
but also a refreshing morning swim before checking out, leaving us completely satisfied.
Water Temperature and Hygiene

The pools at Arten Pool Villa maintain a consistent water temperature of around 88°F (31°C).
We didn't need any extra heating; the water was comfortably warm, so we could enjoy our swim without worrying about the cold.
In the morning, I noticed water draining from one side of the villa pool and fresh water entering from the other, suggesting their filtration system was actively working.
Seeing the water quality being managed firsthand definitely put our minds at ease.
Large Family Villa Review

Just as important as the swimming facilities is the comfort of the room for a good night's rest.
First off, the private villa itself is incredibly spacious.
It features a living room, two bedrooms, a kitchen, and two bathrooms, which allowed our group of six to sleep very comfortably with two people per room.

The refrigerator is large, and there were enough dishes and utensils for all six of us.
(If anything is missing, just ask the management. We requested wine glasses and they brought them right over.)

While it might not have the trendy, newly built aesthetic,
it was perfectly comfortable for our parents.
The master bedroom is incredibly large and includes a whirlpool tub, which was perfect for encouraging our parents to enjoy a relaxing soak.
Being able to access the master bedroom directly from the pool also made using the bathroom very convenient.

You can't have a stay at a pension without a barbecue, right?
Our villa came with a private barbecue area,
allowing our family to enjoy grilling meat in a cozy and comfortable setting.
If you visit Mungyeong, you absolutely *must* try Yakdol pork. It's incredibly tender and delicious!
For convenience, we recommend stocking up on groceries at Daeheung Butchery and Hanaro Mart before heading to the villa!

Pricing for 6 Guests & Value

These days, weekend prices for pool villas can often feel quite steep.
However, the Mungyeong Arten Pool Villa offered significant value in terms of cost.
For a weekend stay, the base rate for 4 people was around ~$345 for a private pool villa, a very reasonable price.
Even with an additional ~$21 per person for the two extra guests, bringing the total additional cost to ~$41, the final price was still in the ~$414 range.
Typically, pool villas charge an extra fee for heated water, but here, there was no additional charge for that!
This was another truly significant advantage.
It's rare to find a place where six people can enjoy both a private pool and a large outdoor communal pool during a peak weekend season for around ~$414.
When you break it down per person, the value was truly outstanding.

✔ For those who prioritize spacious pools and an open, airy feel over ultra-modern interior design.
✔ For large families or groups seeking a reasonably priced pool villa.
✔ For anyone desiring a private, relaxing escape with a forest view.
While it wasn't the trendiest accommodation, the expansive folding doors offering a forest view and the generous pool facilities ensured all six of us had a fulfilling and enjoyable stay in Mungyeong.
If you're planning a large family trip or looking for a pension with great swimming options, this could be an excellent choice.
Instead of meeting for traditional holidays, we gathered at the pension in advance.
If you're considering a trip during the upcoming holidays or any long weekend in 2026, be sure to check availability soon!
