Before the tour, I thought,

but my expectations were completely blown away?!

How to Get to Mount Fuji from Tokyo: Public Transport vs. Bus Tour

From Busta Shinjuku to Kawaguchiko Station,

it's approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes by express bus,

and costs 2,200 JPY one-way.

The challenge, however, comes after you arrive.

Arakurayama Sengen Park, Hikawa Clock Shop, and Oshino Hakkai are spread out,

so realistically, you can only visit 2-3 spots a day if you rely on local buses.

Since the sun sets early in February,

I opted for a bus tour that handles all the transportation.

At the time, there was a guide holding a flag,

so there was no chance of getting lost.

Arakurayama Sengen Park

This is where that famous composition—Mount Fuji appearing behind the red five-story pagoda—comes to life.

With nearly 400 steps up to the observation deck,

one hour felt like just the right amount of time.

Since it was February, the peak was beautifully covered in white snow.

Hikawa Clock Shop: The Most Memorable Shot

It's a view where Mount Fuji seems to hang

at the end of an old shopping street.

Seeing the photos I took here

completely changed my initial casual impression.

However, it's an active road,

so you must snap your photos from the crosswalk during a green light

and move quickly.

Thirty minutes felt a bit tight,

but if the weather is good, it's definitely worth not missing.

At the tourist information center right in front, if you complete a QR survey,

You could pick from one of four postcards.

They also had commemorative stamps, which is always a fun touch!

If you're into collecting stamps, definitely bring a small notebook along.

Oshino Hakkai

These are eight ponds fed by the pure, melted snow from Mount Fuji.

We had the longest time here, which was perfect for soaking it all in.

It was ideal for a leisurely stroll through the clear ponds and charming thatched-roof village.

Kawaguchiko Lawson Convenience Store

This is the spot where Mount Fuji appears to be perfectly perched right on top of the convenience store roof!

There are planters on the opposite side to prevent jaywalking, so make sure to cross at the crosswalk and take your photos from the sidewalk.

Kawaguchiko Oishi Park

Mount Fuji stands majestically right across the lake, facing you head-on.

In February, without any flowers, the view felt very pure and serene, just the lake and the snow-capped mountain.

But if you visit from late September to mid-October, you'll be treated to a breathtaking backdrop of vibrant crimson autumn leaves.

Oh, and a quick tip: the lavender ice cream sold at the rest stop here was absolutely divine – I highly, highly recommend you try it!

Even if the line looks long, it moves surprisingly fast, so you'll be able to get your hands on one after a short wait!!

Leica Camera Photo Shoot Service

After visiting five amazing spots, my biggest regret was the lack of good photos of myself!

Almost all my pictures were taken with my phone, and at Hikawa Clock Shop, I simply didn't have the luxury of time to capture decent portraits.
